You know, I'm not sure. I believe those could be "real" games they just toyed with for an example via NBA Today. I can double check tomorrow and see if games update in your Association, but I'm thinking those in-progress updates are tied to ongoing real-life games.

Thanks Chase B !
This will be my first time buying NBA 2K ... I just have 1 question .
After you draft a player in Assoc. are those rookies all generated as in Madden or are they random draft classes ?
THANK YOU for your time !!Comment

You better double check, cause I've heard someone with the game (maybe Aholbert) say he didn't see an NBA today segment at all during halftime in Association.....

Re: NBA 2K11 Community Questions Answered by Mr. Editor (Ongoing and Keep Asking Them
Chase, I've asked this question three times and no answer. Maybe you can help me out.
How come whenever I try to post up by pressing RT + LT, it doesn't work? Sometimes it does if I'm already sprinting and then press LT, but that's not how it should work. In the NBA, you don't have to be moving already to post up. And i can never post up after just receiving the ball and facing up the opponent.
For example, in the demo, Derek Fisher is bringing the ball down the court. Pau Gasol is on the left block posted up ready to receive the ball. I pass it to Pau, so he's facing up KG. I press RT + LT together to post up, but that does nothing.
This is so frustrating. Am I doing something wrong?Comment

Thanks, this is at worst an improvementAll right so I've checked this out. If this is the case, then it makes some sense. In the gametrack, it said JRich shot his proper amount (6-13) but it only showed 10 of his shots as Xs and Os. However, I did take a few shots from a similar spot so it's possible they just didn't mark them.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Community Questions Answered by Mr. Editor (Ongoing and Keep Asking Them
Hey Chase, got a interesting question for you. Not sure if you know the answer or not - In NBA2K10 when we the game automatically downloaded the latest rosters, the rosters reflected whatever injuries were happening during the system and applied it to the roster and those players were unavailable for use online - which is understandable, but also offline, and in offline there was not way to play with those players or put them in team rotations for quick games offline.
In NBA2K11 has the option been added for us to turn off injuries when updating rosters so we can have the option to be able to use those players or not for offline quick games? I know last year this was something that annoyed alot of people, including me and the 2K devs mentioned this would be addressed in NBA2K11 last year, do you know if this has been added?Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Community Questions Answered by Mr. Editor (Ongoing and Keep Asking Them
I haven't received any 3-team offers during my simulations.
I'm not quite sure I get what you said there, but there aren't teams with stacked guys at every position or 4 PGs etc. after the 3rd offseason. There is a good amount of movement, but it seems like many of the "star" players are still with their regular teams (Melo is on the Pacers now). The Pacers seem to be the only team that is arguably kind of odd -- albeit stacked. They have Melo, Hibbert, Collison, Granger, and Paul George as their top 5 (three being SFs, but all three being quite good and all 3 have positional flexibility I would say so it's not that out of whack).Hey ChaseB,
First, regarding the trade logic AI mentioned two posts above, how bad does it get say 3 years in? Do we see Al Horford potentially being a 12-team man by the end of his career? He probably isn't their "core" player, so I'm hoping we DON'T see something like that.
As for the Hawks, Johnson, the Crawfords, Marvin, Smoov and Horford are still around after the third offseason. Horford has continued to develop and is an 85 and just got a nice big contract -- 2nd highest rated guy on team behind JJ (I think the Hawks proved this offseason they don't like to have anyone walk on them).
Didn't seem to change the trade value, but yes you can make anyone a "star" so to speak.
Looks like you have to wait.
-It didn't show the cap's face when going through that lightning quick intro of each guy's face in the starting lineup. However within the game, the cap is shown in that starting lineup. Bruce did not say the cap's name even though he was the guy highlighted as the best player at half -- instead Bruce talked about Shannon Brown and there were some Brown highlights (may have just been what they chose to go with since Brown had a couple nice dunks after coming off the bench).Hey Chase, since you have gotten into Association can you please answer my questions? All I want to know is if the pregame intros that show player faces one after another happen in association games as well, and if yes what happens if you have a cap/generated rookie in the starting lineup, will the game show his face? Also I wanna ask if Damon bruce during halftime shows calls out the names of caps/rookies. Thanks
You can't edit their names.
Yeah, I'm confused now as well. After each quarter there were just promos for upcoming games within the game I played in Association -- no mention of completed games etc. (maybe sample size as well?)
Not quite sure I follow, but all the generated guys have generated faces, not real pictures. You can DL "real" Draft Classes that are made by 2K users and import them into your Association though. If you mean are the generated rookie classes like some of the "classic" drafts like in NFL Head Coach (aka similar to a real-life drafts from the past), then no they are not like that. At the start of each season a draft class can be generated so you can scout the guys until the Draft.
You definitely can't poach them from other teams, so it looks like just existing head coaches who get fired can be hired for the top jobs when it comes to "real" guys.
Are you sure your control scheme is normal? You have to keep holding the triggers until you actually engage with the guy in the post as well.Chase, I've asked this question three times and no answer. Maybe you can help me out.

If it is an option, I can't find it. Then again, maybe I have to wait for a Living Roster update to tweak what I do and don't DL.In NBA2K11 has the option been added for us to turn off injuries when updating rosters so we can have the option to be able to use those players or not for offline quick games? One other note on Association. After the third offseason I thought it was perhaps a bit odd that many teams almost everyone got worse but on others almost everyone got better. Perhaps it's tied to how well the team does or doesn't do on the year. And, as well, it only seemed to be extreme the one offseason. Otherwise, it seemed more normal where the teams that did REALLY well had most positives for 5-6 players and then one or two drops and then a bunch of guys who didn't move. Also, if one of your guys goes out for much of the year, expect his ratings to take a hit after the season it appears.
Oh, and just to enrage all of you, I did find a *wait for it* a SILHOUETTE. Only it was because after the fourth offseason a most-improved player was not announced (odd, yes). So there's just a vacant award with a silhouette where a player would normally be. Also LeBron wins MVP every yearrrrr.Last edited by ChaseB; 10-03-2010, 07:50 PM.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). Ha while I think that's awesome, I would think that's a bit too progressive an idea for the time being. +1 for the comment either way though.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). Have you tried real player fg%? Do you like it? Also, do you get realistic scores with 12 minute quarters?Comment
