Oh right, cool.
Bit of a shame they can't try and implement that but it would have got pretty confusing. Just basic trades for players then? I suppose it's not all that bad as trades will happen in game and round picks will be all over the place.Comment

Only play 6 minute quarters on all star atm as I tried 9 mins but I lose concentration playing for that long and get beaten pretty easily although I might try it again tbh. What the guy posted at the top about 30 team association, why did he need to do that? How did the CPU mess up rotations?Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I'm half way through the second season with the Clippers, and I'm sat in 8th place in the Western Conference with a 9-10 record. I was 4-8 but I've managed to win 5 out of the last 7, including comfortable wins over Phoenix and Golden State, and a close win over the Celtics.
I wanted some more cover at the PF position, so I brought in Blake Griffin's brother Taylor from the free agent list, and he has a surprisingly good J from mid and 3-point range. I gave him what was almost an extended tryout in the Boston game, and he got 11 points including a couple of 3s.
Speaking of Griffins, Blake has been in fine form recently - scoring a season-high 35 in the same Boston game.
Sadly, Shaquille O'Neal has decided to call it a day at the end of the season. It's a shame, because he has been extremely useful for me recently, scoring 17, 16 and 10 in his last three, and getting a healthy amount of blocks and rebounds.
Does 2K11 have any way of persuading a player to do another season? Is it something you can spend reward points on, or am I confusing it with Madden?Supporting Leeds United, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Lions and the Colorado Avalanche!

[5-4 PHO season 1/All-Star/82gm/10min]
Well, 1st game started with Grant going down with a lower back strain 1-2 weeks, he's back now but that was unfortunate in the 1st game. Pietrus is doing surprisingly well, he's getting me 16pts off the pine, and Warrick is impressing me, he can really jump.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Started a Timberwolves association last night but got frustrated and it was late so ended up rage quitting. Was having a real tough time keeping possession and scoring baskets in the two games I played.
Was against the Knicks first game and eventually lost by 30, even though I had managed to cut it to 6 at one point. Second game I lost to the Nuggets after being ahead quite well, my team just felt like they couldn't score.
Will start up another one today and actually stick it out for once!Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Anyway, not sure if any of that applies to you. I just had to rant a bit after, well, ragequitting. (Different reason, but still.)Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
It sort of does apply. Rookie is too easy and I will win the games without a challenge. I think the problem with Allstar is if you lose concentration for a few minutes you can be a lot of points down and it's hard to get back but I do feel it's the right level for me. I leave all the settings on default as I really don't know what does what and don't want to make it too easy/hard for myself. I think I just need to master a few more shots and start using set plays and it will come.
Do any of you fiddle around with your specific team settings? e.g. 3 point tendency, medium tendency, dunking tendency, alley oop etc? Left these alone as well but wondering whether to experiment.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I am starting year 2 of my Orlando Magic franchise. After having a disappointing 1st season and getting bounced in the first round of the playoffs, I have decided to blow up my roster. Basically, the only holdovers from the my first season are Dwight Howard, JJ Reddick, Chris Duhon, and Earl Clark. I obtained Ben Gordon, CJ Watson, Brendon Wright and Boris Diaw in trades. I also obtained the #3 and #12 draft picks, to go along with my own which was #17. Drafted Harrison Barnes, Derrick Williams, and Jimmer Fredette with those three picks, and picked up Tony Woods and Scotty Hopson in the 2nd round. Going into the 2011-2012 season, my lineup is this:
PG-Jimmer/Watson/Duhon
SG-Gordon/Reddick/Hopson
SF-Barnes/Clark/Richardson
PF-Williams/Diaw/Wright
C-Howard/Woods
Not sure how this team will fare, but I was tired of getting stuck with not having someone who could consistantly take heat off of Dwight. Jimmer and Gordon should provide me with a decent threat from the outside, while Barnes and Williams can slash to the hoop. I am hoping Williams with help out on the defensive end as well.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
@jgarrett: I believe you'll like your acquisition of Boris Diaw at the 4. He's a really solid offensive player, and has decent defense. He can also play the 3 in a big lineup, and the 5 in a small lineup, very versatile. He'll typically bring in his fare share of rebounds as well.
The biggest thing though is to fully utilize his offense, he'll surprise you. He can knock down the mid range shot and shoot the long ball very good as well, and also is very solid in the post. Work him from the elbows and about 12ft and he's a true scoring option.
The only thing I suggest is you change his jumper to "Shotput", since it's more like his real life shot. I'm not sure if I changed any of his other shots but I could check if you're interested.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
So, im doing an association with the warriors(82 games, all star/sim), and in my first season, the bobcats were struggling and i used my expirings, reggie williams, and a first rounder to trade for gerald wallace.
i ran with
steph/monta/lin
monta/carney/donte greene
wallace/dorell/donte
lee/udoh
biedrins/udoh
i won the championship in 5 against the hawks(hawks/bucks in east finals, wtf?)
anyway, heading in to season 2, i wanted to shake things up, so i decided to pursue melo(pre deadline rosters).
I traded gerald wallace before the draft for a first rounder and randolph(unhappy)
biedrins for jason thompson and sac's 1st rounder.
donte green left for a first rounder too i think.
I ended up with the 2,3,and 7 overall picks, and i picked up kendrick perkins in FA, while melo went to PHX. i traded 2 of the players i drafted(barnes and kanter i think) along with perkins to phx for melo.
I kept alec burks to score off the bench.
so my lineup to begin the season was
steph/lin
monta/burks/carney
melo/wright
lee/randolph
thompson/udoh
At first i was struggling to score with this roster since all 5 positions could shoot mid range, and i felt like i had too much offensive talent. After about 5 games, i was getting the hang of melo and my new look team.
I couldn't keep all my bigs happy with minutes, and randolph was upset w/ 30 off the bench, so i decided to trade him away and got DeAndre Jordan. I wanted a defensive center, and couldnt make salaries match to get Thabeet(I wanted to experiment with his size).
and i swapped carney for greene with the wiz
Anyway, i was toying around with the idea that i might be better off trading some of my offense for some defensive prowess, and considered picking up D12 for melo.
after playing around w/ trades for a bit, the magic accepted
melo, david lee. min 1st rounder for D12 and redick
steph/lin
monta/burks/redick
dorell/greene
thompson/udoh
D12/Jordan
I don't know which lineup i like better. I was getting the hang of melo, but i felt like he was clashing too much w/ monta and steph's game. What do you guys think?Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Okay, I've now finished the first two rounds of the playoffs in the second season of my Miami Heat association. Every game has been close late in the game, with me having a habit of blowing big leads, so it's been a lot of fun. Here's the results from the first round.
Eastern Conference Quarter-Finals
#1 Miami Heat (me) vs #8 Orlando Magic - Miami Heat win series 4-0
#2 Atlanta Hawks vs #7 Charlotte Bobcats - Atlanta Hawks win series 4-3
#3 Boston Celtics vs #6 New York Knicks - Boston Celtics win series 4-1
#4 Chicago Bulls vs #5 Toronto Raptors - Chicago Bulls win series 4-1
Western Conference Quarter-Finals
#1 Oklahoma City Thunder vs #8 Golden State Warriors - Oklahoma City Thunder win series 4-3
#2 Los Angeles Lakers vs #7 Utah Jazz - Los Angeles Lakers win series 4-2
#3 Denver Nuggets vs #6 Portland Trail Blazers - Denver Nuggets win series 4-2
#4 Dallas Mavericks vs #5 Minnesota Timberwolves - Dallas Mavericks win series 4-1
Now for the second round.
Eastern Conference Semi-Finals
#1 Miami Heat vs #4 Chicago Bulls - Miami Heat win series 4-0
#2 Atlanta Hawks vs #3 Boston Celtics - Boston Celtics win series 4-3
Western Conference Semi-Finals
#1 Oklahoma City Thunder vs #4 Dallas Mavericks - Dallas Mavericks win series 4-2
#2 Los Angeles Lakers vs #3 Denver Nuggets - Los Angeles Lakers win series 4-1
The match-up's for the third round now look like this.
Eastern Conference Finals
#1 Miami Heat vs #3 Boston Celtics
Western Conference Finals
#2 Los Angeles Lakers vs #4 Dallas Mavericks
The Eastern Conference Finals are a re-match of last year's Eastern Conference Finals. Last year I swept Boston 4-0, but only won by double digits in one game. In the rest of the games, as I recall, me and my Miami Heat team won by single digits and it was possession for possession games, with me etching it out in the end three times and winning by double digits the other time as I mentioned before. I moved up a level since then, from All-Star to Superstar difficulty level, but I'm still hoping for a repeat performance from last season. Also, hopefully I'll face the Lakers in the NBA Finals. That would be the ultimate star-studded event, no doubt. I will update after the Conference Finals conclude, which should be around this time tomorrow or the day after, depending on how many games the series turns out to be for me.Last edited by Freak123; 03-12-2011, 04:22 AM.Comment
