Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Just wrapped up season 1 with Portland. Went 40-42 and had the #7 seed, faced #2 OKC and just couldn't get over the hump, lost 4-2. NBA finals: SA over BOS 4-0.
Offseason:
Camby retired, traded Matthews to NO for '12 1st rnd pick
Miller, Oden, Mills went to FA
Draft:#16 pick Alvin Phillips (PG 67rtg), #46 L.Scott (C 53rtg)
Signings: Humphries 3yr $11.32mil, Deandre Jordan 4yr $16.44mil,
Splitter 2yr $4.35mil, Boykins 1yr $1.94mil
I wasn't going to sign Oden b/c I knew i could get Jordan for half the price. Used up all my cap space but for once i didn't mind. I'm basically gonna roll through this franchise playing 1 out of 3-4 games b/c i'm spending way more time playing MLB the show.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Well I chose the Cavs and I simmed the first 2 years. In year 1 I ended up going 3-26 and got the 2nd pick. The clippers pick turned into the first pick. I also made a deal that net me another top 10 pick. It involved sending Jamison and Gibson to the Twolves for their pick. In the draft I picked up Kyrie Irving W overall, Derrick Williams with the 3rd pick and Kanter with like the 9th pick in the draft. In free agency I signed JR Smith to a 3 year deal.
In year 2 I simmed the entire year and ended up with a top 5 pick. I took Seth Curry 5 overall and picked up a 7 foot 300 pound center. I re signed Hickson to a multi year deal. Didn't sign anybody in free agency and so at the start of the 2013 season here is my rotation
Irving / Davis
Curry / Smith
Williams / Eyenga
Hickson / Morris
Kanter / center
Williams is a beast. Scored 25 in my first game with him. Kanter is going to be a stud also. Has a nice mid range jumper and a good post game. Reminds me a lot like Dirks game.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
In my Warriors association, i was offered this trade by the Nets right before the deadline:
Warriors trade: Steph Curry, Wizards 2011 1st rounder (currently second-worst record in the league)
Nets trade: Deron Williams, Nets 2011 1st Rounder (currently seventh-worst record in the league)
I added a 2012 Nets first round pick and they accepted! Thoughts?Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I started up a Cavs association again, I simmed the first season and we were 10-15 at one point but we finished 13-69. Traded for Jeff Green and Thaddeus Young, Avery Bradley and bunch of other young talent and resigned them. The plan was to have an small team that could run the floor and shoot the three and everyone could handle the ball pretty well so we could start the break with whoever grabbed the board but actually play some defense so going into the 2011-2012 I was pretty confident we were 2-0 a 2pt win over the Bobcats and a 5pt win over the Clippers
My roster was:
Avery Bradley
JJ Redick
Thaddeus Young
Rookie PF(78)
Jeff Green
So two and all everything was going pretty good so I decided I'd blow up the roster. I couldn't stand the team. While it was nice that we won 2 games we barely cracked 80 points in both games and barely shot 40% Jeff Green was the only was the only one on offense that could crack 15. The team averaged 84 points and he was scoring 32 a game combine Bradley in that those two averaged 44 of the teams points. So I instead of improving the fast breaking small ball team, I went the whole opposite way and decided to make a slow grind it out team thats main focus was throwing it into the paint and letting him go to work. After I finished making moves the roster looks like:
Avery Bradley
Wesley Matthews
Xavier Henry
Brandon Wright
Marcus Camby
Figured this was the team, I was set and I was pretty excited, That excitement lasted oh bout 30 minutes, Halftime against Hawks I was down 54-30. So all in all after all my moves, getting rid of majority of my roster. I was having the EXACT same problems which was I can't score. My leading scorer was Dexter Pittman with 17. Start the second half I was pretty much just trying to get through the rest of the game. Pittman comes out and scores 8 straight points.(54-38) Atlanta calls timeout to try to cool him down. Coming out of the timeout we get anther stop and I come down ready to dump it down in Pittman who they double team immediately he kicks it out to Reggie Williams who caught fire going 6-6 in the 3rd quarter alone all off Dexter Pittman Double teams so the team that scored all of 30 points in the first half goes off for 44 in the 3rd quarter making it 82-72 (20 from Williams 17 from Pittman 6 from Redick 1 from Wright) We go on to dominate the 4th and win 114-98 with the player of the game going to Dexter Pittman who finished with 44 Points 11 Rebounds and 10 Assist.Comment

1-8 so far with my Kings Assoc.
Starters:
'Reke
Thornton
Cassipi
Thompson
Cousins
6th: Udrih
Dalembert
Daniels (injured)

I think later in the season near the trade deadline I may try to acquire Ben Gordon. Giving up Thornton, who I don't play well with, and other fillers from both teams.Chicago Bulls

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Denver Nuggets (post-Melo trade) are currently 2-1 after a hard-fought 114-110 win in Houston over the Rockets.
This team is a blast to use; you get scoring from different guys every night and I love having bench depth.
Right now I've got Lawson, Afflalo, Chandler, K-Mart and Nene starting with Felton, Smith, Gallinari, Harrington and Birdman as the second unit. Mozgov sees minutes if there's foul trouble and Gary Forbes gets a couple of minutes.
I'm using MKHarsh33's sliders (the All-Star ones) and they are really good.
It'll likely take me a while to get through a season (have 2 other Associations going, MyPlayer and MLB 11 The Show/MLB 2K11 distracting me as well) but I'm enjoying getting in games when I can.Currently Playing:

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I just got Melo with out using trade override (First time for me)
I kinda made my team worse at offense but better at defense.
I got Melo and K-Martin for gasol and amare. But this is definitely a championship team
with Kobe and Melo even though I don't have a big 3 just a big 2 lolComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I want to do an association with a John Wall/Monta Ellis back court so I've got to decide the better team to go with - Wizards or Warriors?
If I'm the Wizards, I can do a trade like McGee, Yi & Nick Young for Ellis. If I'm the Warriors, I'd have to something like Curry, Udoh + draft picks for Wall.
Wizards would still have a lottery pick, Crawford, and Blatche while the Warriors would have a lot more cap space to work with (i.e. no Rashard Lewis). Wizards are in a brutal division w/Miami, Orlando and Atlanta while the Warriors would only really need to contend with the Lakers.
Which team would you go with?Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
30 Team Association as Hornets (All-Star Break update)
Not going to give you a detailed run down, just going to give you the playoff picture, stats etc etc.
East
(1) Boston Celtics 39-15 vs (8) Detroit Pistons 25-32
(2) Miami Heat 39-17 vs (7) Milwaukee Bucks 26-30
(3) Chicago Bulls 37-17 vs (6) Orlando Magic 31-27
(4) New York Knicks 33-22 vs (5) Atlanta Hawks 31-25
Indiana Pacers 23-31
Washington Wizards 22-32
Philadelphia 76ers 22-34
New Jersey Nets 21-36
Cleveland Cavaliers 20-36
Charlotte Bobcats 20-36
Toronto Raptors 18-38
West
(1) Dallas Mavericks 40-16 vs (8) Phoenix Suns 27-27
(2) Oklahoma City Thunder 36-18 vs (7) Portland Trail Blazers 28-28
(3) San Antonio Spurs 36-20 vs (6) Golden State Warriors 29-26
(4) Los Angeles Lakers 36-21 vs (5) New Orleans Hornets 34-24
Houston Rockets 28-29
Los Angeles Clippers 26-30
Denver Nuggets 26-31
Utah Jazz 25-32
Memphis Grizzlies 22-35
Minnesota Timberwolves 20-36
Sacramento Kings 17-36
As you can see I am nicely wedged into that 5th seed at the moment. If I was unable to get home-court, my favourable match up would be with the Spurs who are without both Tony Parker AND George Hill. They are gunning with a Jannero Pargo and A.J. Price (acquired through trade) PG duo. Another snippet, LeBron James broke his foot early in the season but D-Wade has kept the ship steady producing MVP-like numbers.

I just got offered Wall and another player, but they wanted Eric Bledsoe AND Perry Jones so I turned it down.
Even though Wall is awesome I wasn't going to give up either of those great young players.Supporting Leeds United, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Lions and the Colorado Avalanche!
