    Miami Heat
    82 Game Association
    Year 2
    Custom Sliders
    Year one - NBA Champions
Year Two - Number 2 Seed Currently in the Finals vs. Lakers

So I have the home court in this series. Game one was a 1 point win 101-100 in just an amazing game. Game 2 we blow the Lakers off the court as Gasol and Bynum were in foul trouble early and often. Gasol fouled out with 4 minutes left and Bynum was out with 3 minutes left. Lebron and Bosh abused the paint. But this 16 point win (97-81) came at a cost. Just 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter Dwayne Wade goes down with a strained stomach muscle. He was able to finish the game but was ruled out in game 3 at LA. His overall has only dropped 5 points but he is out with a 1-2 week timetable. So it looks as though the Heat will have to try and win their second straight title without him. Mike Miller has been inserted into the lineup.

Fast forward to game 3. The Lakers played like a team on the brink. The game was close through 3 quarters when all of a sudden Kobe and Gasol just tear apart the Heat. The Lakers went on to win by 21 after leading by 8 to end 3 quarters of play. The Heat went ice cold from the outside and the constant double teams on Lebron were forcing the ball to the outside as Lebron tried desperatly to drive to the hole and get to the line. After getting to the stripe in games one and two a combined 35 times, the Heat only managed 9 FT's in game 3. Mike Miller filled in well and dropped in 23 points. Bosh though was owned by a combination of Gasol and Odom. Bosh went through a couple of tough games in last years finals vs. the Spurs but was able to bounce back. The heat needs Bosh to step up big time in Wades absence and be a big scorer in the post as well as from the elbow.

The Lakers look to even up the series tonight as they play 2 more in LA before going back to South Beach for at least a game six.

With my Knicks, i have struggled since moving the difficulty up to Superstar. I was able to conquer the Raptors and that is about it.

I played the Heat pretty tough, but they pulled away in the end. OKC, as everyone knows is a nightmare. I was beating them until KD broke his shooting slump and I was ran out of MSG in 4th quarter.

My lack of another scorer is starting to come into effect, looks like i will package Fields with one my other rookies and grab a scorer from another team. Considering Jordan Crawford.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I started a new franchise with the Hornets awhile back
we started out 3 and 28, lost 16 in a row. we were only averaged 83.9(40.3 by Chris Paul and David West) good for worst in the league, worst field goal and 3pt %, assist and league high in turnovers but we did lead the league in offensive rebs. so I blew up most the roster

        Chris Paul/TJ Ford
James Anderson(Terrible player, regret trading for him)/Marcus Thornton
D-League SF/D-League SF (Injuries at the SF spot)
        Deandre Jordan/Aaron Gray
        Roy Hibbert/Ronnie Turiaf

        2011 Hornets First Rounder
        2011 Wizards First Rounder
        2011 Hornets Second Rounder

We finished the year 9 and 73 I believe Chris Paul averaged 27.3 and 5.9 assist. I resigned Deandre Jordan and let everyone else into free agency. I draft C.Anthony (A low post playing SF that crashes the boards and doesn't play D. Sound familiar?) 76 Ovr with the second pick in the draft and a tall long defensive SG with the 8th 74 Ovr, I signed Armon Johnson, Brandon Wright, Josh McRoberts and traded my next years 1st and 2nd round picks for Danillo Gallanari

So my starting line up was
        Chris Paul/Armon Johnson
        James Anderson/Marcus Thornton
        Cecil Anthony/Danillo Gallanari
        Deandre Jordan/Josh McRoberts
        Roy Hibbert/Ronnie Turiaf

I just played the Wizards about an hour ago
and I just completely destroyed them 93-59, They have absolutely no scoring if you put a lock on Nick Young which I double teamed anytime he touched the ball(this was the second time i was playing the game and the first time he lit me up for 20 in the first quarter)Blatche was doing nothing but taking fadeway jumpshots from midrange 2/18 John Wall had 16 and 8 on 6/11 shooting but had foul trouble. On my side I don't think i've ever had that many lay-ups or shots that close to the rim Chris Paul had 21/6/13 on 10/20 shooting and only 2 turnovers and Roy Hibbert had 19/7/4blks on 8/10 shooting. I had problems dropping the 3 bombs though going 0/10 and Anthony was frosty the whole game and shot 2/11 but did have 10 rebounds. If I can get Cecil Anthony going as the Mid-range/Low post scoring threat I want him to be I can have my own mini three with Paul/Anthony/Hibbert

Anyone have an idea of a mediocre (or bad) team with a newish arena and a relatively big market?

Once I figure out which team I will be rolling with, I'll start up my association.

The Clippers, although the Staples Center isn't newish. Uh Charlotte has a newish arena. Not really a big market though.

                  Year 1
                  47-35
                  Division Champions

We beat the Bucks in the first round of the playoffs, it was a 4-5 matchup, we won 4-1, Hibbert was a monster in that series. Our second round match up was against the Miami Heat and we're currently down 3-1, i saved game 5 but we're down at the start of the second. It's a fun series, but Miami is too tough, Granger isn't hitting, Collison is doing his job.

In the off season, i'm going to obviously look for better players, i'm going to keep Tyler because i'm going to develop him into a beast, along with Hibbert. I'm going to try to get rid of Posey and Brandon Rush and fight an upgrade SG who can shoot.

Hopefully i can come back against the Heat...

I took a 3 week hiatus from playing this game until the playoffs started, and watching the knicks celtics series gave me the basketball jones again lol... so i started a knicks franchise (HOF sim 12min quar.) and simmed the regular season, amazingly all the teams that are in the playoffs IRL made it to the playoffs in my franchise (some of the seedings are different but who cares about that) the knicks got the 5th seed so ill be playing the 4th seeded magic in the first round... long story short ive played the first two in orlando and won both games by 10-15 points... carmelo and amare are destroying the magic (though JRICH had 43 in game 1)... i will be updating this franchise with more info the further i advance but i really gotta say that my love affair with this game has been renewed

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Just started my Sim Timberwolves Association and completed the first season last night.

                      Record: 39-43
                      Missed Playoffs

I'll just give you a short summary here. A couple of weeks into the season we were 3-6 and the Clippers offered me a trade I couldn't refuse, Eric Gordon and Craig Smith for Anthony Randolph and Wesley Johnson. This made the team so much better and is the only reason my record ended up this good. We probably would have made the playoffs if Kevin Love wouldn't have broke his back the last month of the season. Gordon and Beasly led the team in scoring with 18.8 and 18.4 points per game respectively. Love averaged 16.4 points and 13.7 rebounds per game.

                      My roster looked like this:
PG Luke Ridnour, Jonny Flynn, Sebastian Telfair
                      SG Eric Gordon, Wayne Ellington
SF Michael Beasly, Martell Webster, Lazar Hayward
PF Kevin Love, Craig Smith, Anthony Tolliver
                      C Darko Milicic, Nikola Pekovic

I was pretty surprised nobody complained about their role or minutes, and almost everybody had full morale at the end of the season. My only concern is that I only have one player with the Role of "Bench Warmer", pretty much all of the bench players are "Role Players" or "Prospects". Next season I'm going to try and draft Darko's replacement. There aren't very many expiring contracts either, the only one I can think of is Craig Smith who I plan on letting go.

Around the league, LeBron James won MVP and the Celtics defeated the Spurs in the NBA finals in 7 games. Actually 15 of the 16 teams that made the playoffs in real life made the playoffs in my game. The only difference was the Pistons getting in and the 76ers were out. The Sixers were terrible after trading Elton Brand right before the trade deadline. The Clippers hilariously had the worst record in the league after making that trade with me (serves them right).

Well that was more than I planned on typing, sorry for the book.

*EDIT* Any tips on what I should do next season are welcomed.

Awesome write up man, a good read. Did you play all of the games?

I'd try possibly packaging Super Cool Beas and Flynn (I suck with Flynn in 2k11 for some reason) for a legit point guard or center or try to draft a pg or center to fill those gaps.

Maybe you could bring Rubio over?

Man...I'm finally about to start my Orlando Magic association on NBA2K11(been super busy). My only hold is determining how long of a season I want to play(as aI play every game) and whether I should conduct a fantasy draft(sometimes I mix 2K11 in with real-life and forget who plays for who after that the changes...lol).

What do ya'll think I should do? 20-smething games, 50-something game, or go with 82?

Thanks, I didn't play any of the games I simmed the whole season. Also, as disappointing as those 2 players are in real life they are doing pretty good in my association so I'm not sure what to do. I'm projected to get the 12th pick in the draft so I was thinking of drafting the best big man available and trading Darko no matter how bad the player I draft is.

With Rubio, I'm pretty much convinced he will never play a single game for the Wolves. He'll probably just wait until they no longer have the rights to him and enter the draft again. What a waste of a draft pick, David Kahn and Kurt Rambis suck. I swear I could run that franchise better than anybody there currently.

Thought I'd ask for some help on trying to improve my Hornets side. Currently sitting at 2-1 so still early.

I'm not really too keen on David West on the defensive side of things. So I wanted to trade him away and bring in a PF who can still have the same range he does but also bring a better defensive presence to him.

I was thinking either one of the following; ( David West is rated 81 ).

                              Kevin Garnett, ( 83 )
                              LaMarcus Aldridge, ( 82 )
                              Chris Bosh. ( 80 )

Also what sort of deal would you think is best suited in acquiring the guy.

I'm a Boston fan, but decided to try a Knicks Association after that sweep. I felt sorry for them.

Did a TON of trades which went like this:

                                Signed Iverson
Traded Eddy Curry and Raymond Felton for Carmelo
Traded Andy Rautins and Bill Walker for Chase Budinger and Jermaine Taylor
Traded Jermaine Taylor for Mario Chalmers
Traded Wilson Chandler for JaVale McGee
Traded Ronny Turiaf for Marc Gasol (DO WHAT??)
Traded Iverson for Darren Collison, Roy Hibbert AND Tyler Hansbrough (WHAT AGAIN??)
Traded McGee and Budinger for Picks from Chicago
Traded Darren Collison for Steph Curry (WHAAAAT?..AGAIN?)
Traded Roger Mason for Dahntay Jones
Traded Dahntay for Brook Lopez (This game...)
Traded Chalmers and Hibbert for Ty Lawson and Arron Afflalo
                                (Knicks <3 Pacers)

                                Current Team:
