Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I am currently 13-0 by the skin of my teeth. I had to come from behind with 2 minutes left to beat the SPURS at home in a nail biter. I also trailed the Lakers in the second half but eventually took the game over with about 6 min to play.

After these games I decided to change things up. For whatever reason Gay started out in game 1 being THE MAN and was named MVP. Since that game he has been pretty useless from outside of a DUNK range! I don't know what his problem is but I have had it. I have figured out how to use Durant and he is now my main scoring machine, he is flat awesome and playing to his rating finally. Curry is the engine that makes everything go with his precision passing and his sharp shooting. So I decided to deal Gay away.

Traded Gay for Ray Allen and O'Neal. Then I moved O'Neal to Cavs for Gooden and next year's first round pick. I then moved Udoh, Battier and the Cav's future #1 for Wallace. So after all the dust was settled my team Lost: (Gay - Udoh - Battier)to pick up: (Allen - Wallace - Gooden)

Even though the game doesn't rate me higher I believe it makes my team better. Since Gay couldn't shoot for crap, Allen & Wallace combined more then fill in Gay's offense and Wallace is the man on defense. Will probably take me a game or 2 to figure out the rotation and get settled but I have the Cavs and someone else at home is who pretty poor to do just that.

I am loving this game. The game against the SPURS where I trailed the entire game and even had my home crowd booing me was an awesome feeling when I came back. I can't wait to play some more with my new weapons.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Ive had a Grizzlies association for awhile now -

Completed first year and made the playoffs as a 5th seed. Had to take on the 4th seed Trail Blazers. I won the first two games of the series on the road, but I couldnt do anything against them the next 4, and they knocked me out first round. I was slightly disappointed in myself, but the Blazers made it to the Finals anyway (where they lost to the Heat in 6), so I had comfort knowing that one of the best teams in the league beat me out.

Resigned Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol in the off-season. Z-Bo I want to have around for the rest of his prime, but Gasol may be trade bait down the road for me, as I'm gonna try and go even younger at center.

I drafted PF Tristan Thompson in the 1st round and SG Jon Diebler in the 2nd. Diebler is in the D-League but Tristan has been really nice for me so far. Gets alot of rebounds.

My team looks like this (no real major changes, just what I got)

      PG: Mike Conley/Ishmael Smith/Grevious Vasquez
      SG: OJ Mayo/Tony Allen/Xavier Henry
SF: Rudy Gay (beast)/Shane Battier/Sam Young
      PF: Zach Randolph/Tristan Thompson
      C: Marc Gasol/Leon Powe

I could use some more forward depth I think.

So I started Season 2 with this team and we've jumped out to a 7-0 start, with only the 8-0 Lakers ahead of us in the power rankings. I transformed Mayo into a legit 3-point threat with some training in the offseason, so hes been my best scorer. Rudy Gay has been dealing with a finger injury, but he's still been productive.

I hope I can get a really solid seed in the playoffs and make a run.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Currently in the second season in my Knicks chise. I completely simmed the first season we ended up 6th seed in the East. Getting eliminated by Miami in the ECF, the Heat went on to win a championship. Carmelo had went down for 8 weeks, but came back for us 3 weeks before the Playoffs. I simmed the post season also.

So then I made my trade to get OJ Mayo as traide bait to sent to New Orleans so I can package OJ Mayo, Chauncey Billups and a 1st Rd pick to get CP3. So I got CP3. I signed Shaq in free agency. Lmfao I signed Shaq because he always seems like the first veteran option to pickup when contending for a 'chip and I found it so funny so I signed him. Hopefully his old *** don't get hurt on me -___-. I also signed a defensive minded backup PG from the D-League.

So my lineup is is looking as:
          CP3
          Larry Fields
          Melo
          STAT
          Shaq

          Bench:
          Timothy Mozgov(Sixth man)
          Bill Walker
          Roger Masons
          Derrick Brown
          Jeremy Tyler
The backup PG from the NBADL

My first preseason game is versus the Heat. I'm gonna run a practice and get everyone's release right and practice some money plays for the Big 3.

          Around the league:
Sacramento seems to be hungry they definitely made a splash this offseason signing Zach Randolph, Jamal Crawford and drafting Kemba Walker to fill that PG position moving Tyreke to the 2.

          So there lineup:
          Kemba Walker
          Tyreke Evans
          Jeff Green
          Zach
          Cousins

****, now I realized Zach is staying with Memphis in real life. I should of had extended his contract to keep that Memphis core together. I'll probably just trade him back anyways.T

The Nets had the number 1 pick in the draft, drafting Kyrie Irving. They now have a 2 headed monster at PG with D-Will and Irving. This trade still doesn't make some sense to me, why would they draft a PG for the future when they have D-Will?

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Second season with Minnesota. Got to the All-Star break last night, sitting in 4th place in the West. Flynn's currently sitting at 2nd in the 6th man of the year race behind Ty Lawson.

            East Roster:

PG: Derrick Rose, Deron Williams, Rajon Rondo, Kemba Walker (Toronto, going to win ROTY)
            SG: Dwyane Wade, Joe Johnson
            SF: LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony
            PF: Amare Stoudemire, Josh Smith
            C: Dwight Howard, Andrea Bargnani

            West Roster:

PG: Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, Raymond Felton
            SG: Kobe Bryant, Manu Ginobili
            SF: Kevin Durant, Rudy Gay
            PF: Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzki
            C: Tim Duncan, Andrew Bynum

I opted to control the West team and play out the game. For the most part, I tried to manage it as if I was really coaching the ASG in real life. Limited Duncan/Manu in terms of minutes, get the 1st timers a lot of PT, but ultimately have my main guys (CP3/Bryant/Durant/Dirk/Bynum) on in the crunch situations. The East didn't put to use a lot of their backups for too long, while Rondo/Kemba both got DNPs.

So we're at 110-110 with 30 seconds left. East comes up the court, Rose ends up popping a 3 over Paul with 12.6 left. Go down the court, quick layup with Kobe. Foul Rose, he sinks both FTs, so we're at 115-112 with 7.8 left.

Kobe's set to inbound the ball. Pass into Paul, then kick back to Kobe. Kobe runs around a Dirk screen, gets a pretty open look.....and airballs it.

Game over, East wins. I had 71 at the half, but Wade/LeBron took it to me in the 4th. Wade won MVP with 28pts/9rebs/6asts/2stls

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I started a Memphis Grizzles association the other week.

I simmed the first season to the playoffs. It ended up about like RL. I got the 8th seed and beat the Spurs then beat the OKC, lost to the Lakers.

                PG: Conley
                SG: Allan
                SF: Gay
                PF: Randolph
                C: Gasol
                ---------------Bench---------------
                6th Man: Battier
                7: Mayo
                8: Young
                9: Arthur
                10: Henry
                11: Vasquez
                12: Haddadi

Not planning to change to much during season expect that I like Battier as my 6th man, but Tony Allen is getting old and sent down 4 points, making Mayo better. Trying to figure out who to start and keep everyone happy.

Thanks guys! I was playing 28 games on All Pro, found it kinda easy <_<

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I play on 82 games (Play 1 out of every 4 games)/All-Star/11min Qs/Real Shot %/"Simulation" slider/No Player Roles or Chem

What a game I just had against Miami. Wes Johnson goes down with a severe ankle sprain 6 minutes into the game and Kevin Love hits 3 fouls early on in the second. Down 55-39 at half with really only Shannon Brown and Randolph playing well.

Scrap back with a 30-24 3rd quarter thanks to a combination of Flynn/Brown/Love. CPU Coach Spo decides to run a Bibby-House-Miller-Haslem-Big Z lineup for the first 6 minutes of the 4th. I'm able to grind back to 4 points down before the Big 3 come back in.

Grant Hill, scoreless in the first half, catches fire and scores 7 points from 1:16 to :33. LeBron was on fire the entire 4th, but proceeded to fail in hero mode. K-Love hits some crucial FTs to help give me a 108-103 win. Outscored Miami 69-48 in the first half.

                    K-Love - 31pts/12rebs in 29 mins
                    Brown - 20pts in 27 mins
                    Hill - 15pts/6rebs/3asts/3stls in 30 mins
                    Flynn - 10pts/17asts in 26 mins

                    Big 3- 60pts/20rebs/7 assists on 28-49 shooting

I am playing 58 games on All-Star with sliders that are close to SIM but upped a few clicks for the CPU to help the CPU offense. I play the full 12 minute quarters and run mostly a half court set. If you use Sim sliders you can't run down and jack up quick shots for some reason, even if wide open, the shots seem to miss a lot more then if coming off of a pick.

Made final trade this weekend to lock down my roster moving forward through the 58 game season that I am in (I am 14-0 with 4 very close 4th quarter games and 1 OT which I just happened to win them ALL! CLUTCH! LOL) Here is roster I ended up with. My team is pretty much 8 deep. I did trade away both future #1 picks but have 3 #2 picks now.

PG - Curry (He is the engine. He is the MVP every game on account of assists then points. If I was to draft a team and could not trade and I had to pick first I might take this guy! LOL)

SG - Ray Allen (Just traded for him. Wanted that second outside scoring threat with Curry. He is capable of scoring 40 on any given night)

SF - Durant (COMPLETE STUD. Does EVERYTHING exceptionally WELL now that I know how to use him better. He is NOT a 3-point shooter in this game with SIM settings although he can flat out bury the 2-point jumpers. He rebounds, steals and blocks well also. He is always my first look)

PF - Ibaka (Fun young guy with HUGE ups. Leads team in blocks and rebounds)

C - Chandler (Solid defender and rebounder. Great presence in the middle)

6th - Gerald Wallace (Best 6th man in the world. Could end up starting for me as he plays more minutes then some of the starters. I could start him at 3 or 4 but as of right now I simply have him on the bench but I sub him in on the first dead ball)

Active Bench: Haywood & Stevenson (Come in and play to keep legs rested. Neither asked to do anything other then play D really. When Stevenson is at the point I run my offense through the 2 and 3 positions)

Team OVR rating is a 5th at 89 OVR. I believe it says I have the 1st rated defensive team and the 18th rated offensive team. But since I run my offense through my scorers, they play better then that IMO. Formed this team from trades using the TRADE FINDER function and starting with the Thunder. Had to give away both my #1's but picked up an extra #2 draft pick in case anyone wonders.

I was really unhappy with bogans and brewer as my sg's and they were hurt so I had to start my dleague guy Marvin Owens...did great and started 72 games for me. Shannon Brown was huge for me this year but undecided if I'll resign him..he complains alot about minutes. Bout to start my FINALS!!! Never played through a whole season in any game besides football games. NBA 2K11 kept my interest.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Slowly making my way thru my Custom Association using the MJ Challenge 1990-91 Los Angeles Lakers. I'm currently 12-5 and that's good for 1st place in the division and the Western Conference at the moment.

Magic Johnson is putting up MVP-type numbers, scoring 22 points, dishing out 8.5 assists and grabbing 4 rebounds (I'm playing 10-minute quarters and using MKHarsh33's All-Star sliders). James Worthy and Byron Scott are also averaging double-figures in points. Running the break with Magic is pure joy.

It's been interesting to match up this team against the 2010-11 current-day rosters (I started this Association before the patch so that means Melo is still a Nugget, etc.). I imported all of the MJ Challenge classic teams and replaced bottom-feeders like the Raptors. Some of the classic teams are really struggling, like the Cavs and Jazz, while the 1986 Celtics are the best team in the league with a 16-2 record.

I'm gonna be updating everyone on how the rest of my league is shaking up. As you know I'm controlling the Cavs, but also, all 30 teams in Free Agency, Draft and Offseason stuff. (mainly because I don't trust the CPU to make any "smart" FA signings, or "smart" draft picks or even "smart" trades)

I've made a few posts updating everyone on some of the bigger moves that have been made over the 1st two seasons, ie- D.Howard to the Lakers, C.Paul to the Knicks, however, very soon I will be posting an updated list of everyones Starting 5 and a few of their bench players for your enjoyment

I will also update everyone on the "rumors" that are swirling around the league.

I also, have a pretty cool idea. Since I only have the draft class file for the first two offseasons (mario11, mario12) are the draft class files I used, I would like to get the details of some of the OS'ers and import them into my Season 3 Offseason Draft class What do you all think? I will make a post later, and ask for people's info for me to enter into my franchise. After you have been drafted, You can check my "rookie reports" and see how your digital NBA Rookie is doing?

                                --------------------------------------------------------------------------

                                Quick Cavs update...

                                Season 3, Late November.

Cavaliers are sitting at 9-1 and currently ranked #1 in the Power Rankings. I have switched from PRO/SIm to ALLSTAR/SIM because I've imporved my game a little, and I don't want to blow out good teams. I actually want a challenge.

I will update everyone on my franchise when I get home. Hope its interesting to you
                                Thats all for now...
