Out of curiosity I went ahead and switched the roster around to make this trade happen and played a quick game. I was the Clippers playing against the Lakers, and it was a non stop dunk fest, the first two FGs were alley oops haha. It is really fun.

Just plugged it into the ESPN trade machine. They rate LAC gaining 3 wins and ATL losing 3 wins. They probably are not allowing for the position switches. I see Horford being a lot more effective at the PF in ATL so I doubt it will effect them much.

**EDIT: So I am tossing ideas around with this Clipper team. What do you think of this trade?

    Clippers get: Gerald Henderson
    Bobcats get: A. Aminu

The Clippers get a solid 6th man with a lot of potential in Hendo, and Charlotte addresses their biggest need at the wing spot.

    OR:

LAC could try to grab the home town product in Andre Iguodala back to LA.

    LAC gets: Iggy
    PHI gets: Chris Kaman

This definitely an interesting story line. Iggy may play the SF slot a little more natural then Josh Smith. The Sixers don't have the need for Kaman that the Hawks do but they can take 12mill off the books after the season where as they can't with Iggy.

    Thoughts?

Which Kaman trade do you guys like better? Iggy or Josh Smith?

The way to build a good team is not to load it with star players, but to load it with players who play well together with an identity

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

I'd just like to get a little idea of the reception this trade would get. Basically I did it to cut my roster down to 13 players (because I like to have fewer players, I would play with 10 if they let me) and to reduce the salary cap for my future draft picks. Anyway here was the trade:
My team gets: Nene, J.R. Smith, and a first round pick from 2011

Nuggets get: DeMarcus Cousins, Samuel Dalembert, Marcus Thorton, and a first round pick in 2012.

Here was my starting 5 after the trade:
      PG: Tyreke Evens 82
      SG: J.R. Smith 75
      SF: Created Player 82
      PF: Jason Thompson 71
      C: Nene 80

Now to me this wasn't in my favor but after two years Cousins was a bust and Evans ended up being 88 overall. But what would you guys think of this in the moment?
I say it every year, no matter how many people laugh at me, "The Spurs/Texans/Astros will win the championship this year!"

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

Playing with the Heat, currently about halfway though year 2.

In year 1, I didn't make a trade until the offseason. I won the championship, so I had the last pick in the first round.

Traded out of the draft. Phoenix wanted my first round pick and Patrick Beverley (I believe he was at 64 overall) for their 2012 second round pick and 2013 first round pick. Made that trade.

Later in the draft, Minnesota came at me with their 2013 first round pick in exchange for My 2 2nd round picks (Phoenix's and mine). Made that trade.

Free agency comes. I let Bibby, House, Big Z go. Re-signed Chalmers and James Jones.

Only had the MLE available because of the Big 3, so I was limited in FA. In late January 2013, I was perusing the news and saw that Shannon Brown was on the trading block. He was in Charlotte (forget how).

        I send:

Mike Miller (70 ovr, 25% happiness)
Miami Heat 2013 1st rd pick
Miami Heat 2012 2d rd pick

        to Charlotte for

Shannon Brown (75 ovr, 40% happiness)

In my association with the Celtics I started 1-3 losing to the Knicks by 1, Portland in a blowout, and Charlotte. After this I knew I needed more bench scoring and since Jeff Green wasn't happy with PT I made this trade...
          Celtics Get:
          O.J. Mayo
          Leon Powe
          Memphis 2nd Round Pick

          Grizzlies Get:
          Jeff Green
          Avery Bradley
          2011 and 2012 1st Round Pick

This trade gives me a wing player that can score and run the point , and it gives me a young SG to help Rondo once the big three are gone...

I'm the Bucks and i want to acquire Beasley from Minnesota. What would be an fair trade to get him? I don't want lose Jennings or Bogut, everybody else are in play... BTW I'm using Aesop5upreme's complete rosters

I think you got burned on that one. Chirs Paul is worth Felton and Randolph and maybe Turiaf but Ariza for Gallinari is not good. Gallinari is much better than Ariza and without Melo you don't have much of a SF now. Bad deal in my book.

Chandler is a 77 who went through the potential training camp so he'll hit 80 by the end of the season, I'm good for at least 20/6/2 a night with him, Ariza is my 6th man off the bench.

I started with celtics, and i made more than 1 trade, so i'll post them all.
                    START
                    C: Shaquille O'Neal - Jermaine O'Neal - Nenad Krstic

SG: Ray Allen - Von Wafer
PG: Rajon Rondo - Delonte West - Avery Bradley - Carlos Arroyo

                    heres trades
Blazers trade: Marcus Camby, Brandon Roy, Earl Barron
Celtics trade: Ray Allen, Jeff Green, Avery Bradley, Troy Murphy

Blazers trade: Greg Oden, Rudy Fernandez
Celtics trade: Marcus Camby, Shaquille O'Neal, '11 1st

Nuggets trade: Danilo Gallinari, Al Harrington, Arron Afflalo
Celtics trade: Glen Davis, Jermaine O'Neal, Rudy Fernandez, Delonte West

                    NEW Roster
C: Greg Oden - Nenad Krsic - Earl Barron
PF: Kevin Garnett - Al Harrington
SF: Paul Pierce - Danilo Gallinari - Sasha Pavlovic
SG: Brandon Roy - Arron Afflalo - Von Wafer
PG: Rajon Rondo - Carlos Arroyo

As you can see, i got a lot younger, a legit center, and some good bench players. I also kept the title of being contenders, but also became more injury-prone. I think I did pretty good, was curious what you guys thought.

Agreed. Make it Evans/Cousins for Bogut/Jennings and the Bucks would answer the phone, but anything less than that and they probably pass.

Not bad... pretty fair IYAM. Jennings/Bogut are more equipped to win now, Evans/Cousins both have a ton of potential. Cousins turns into like a 93OVR by his 4th or 5th year.

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

I just traded Lebron James for Steve Nash and Eric Gordon

So I've probably done the stupidest trade in Association History, but sometimes I just think what the hell and I just went for it. I find these sort of trades very interesting and I'm writing this for some feedback, be as brutal as you want, I'm fine with it lol

The full trade is actually Lebron James (SF) and Luke Ridnour (PG) for Steve Nash (PG) and Eric Gordon (SG). So why in the world would I ever want to give away arguably the best player in the game? Well, it's because Lebron doesn't 'fit' well into my team. For me it's very important that each player has a very clear and identifiable role, i.e. one is a post player, one is the scorer, the other gives the assists etc. The scorer on my team is Carmelo Anthony, and Tim Duncan is my post player power forward. Marcus Camby is my Center. Yep, my team is awesome! I just feel that with Tim Duncan getting the points in the post and Melo getting the points everywhere, I just don't need Lebron and feel like I'm wasting him. I thought if I trade a Lebron I can bring in two top class players that will fit within the team scheme better.

So now my team looks like this:

                                PG: Steve Nash
                                SG: Eric Gordon
                                SF: Carmelo Anthony
                                PF: Tim Duncan
                                C: Marcus Camby

It USED to look like this:

                                PG: Luke Ridnour
                                SG: Carmelo Anthony
                                SF: Lebron James
                                PF: Tim Duncam
                                C: Marcus Camby

So what do you think? I haven't played any games yet with them, I'm still slightly in shock that I've done this deal lol. I've been with this team for about 3 seasons and all of a sudden it's almost completely different. Do you think it was a stroke of genius or the sort of thing a mentally deficient goat would do?

Edit: Also want to add that this will be my last season before 2k12 so I didn't take into account long term investment value.
