Initial start of the season trades for the Charlotte Hornets (using the Bobcats roster). It's a nice challenge trying to build a team without a lot of tradeable assets.

Trade 1:
DJ Augustin to New Jersey for Net's 2012 First Round Pick & Jordan Famar

Justification: clear up more playing time for Walker + why not tank a little more, eh? Nets get insurance in case DWill bolts plus a small amount of cap relief.

Trade 2:
Tyrus Thomas to Denver for Kenneth Faried & Rudy Fernandez

Justification: Honestly I was surprised the CPU offered this trade, but I can see it to an extent. Bobcats are sick and tired of Thomas loafing, but Nuggets are enticed by his length and athleticism (as the Bobcats were; as the Bulls were). Added bonus, Faried has a lot of Paul Silas in him.

I thought it was a very good trade for my team, plus it sheds Thomas' bad contract. But is my gut right in saying it's a little unrealistic?

As a Nuggets fan, 2nd trade very unrealistic. It might make sense in 2k if you go by ratings or whatnot, but the Nuggets have tried to avoid inconsistent or headcase players (JaVale nonwithstanding) and they wouldn't trade one of the hardest working/good players on the team in Faried for Thomas. Also, it's said that one of the reasons the Nuggets traded Nene at the deadline was to open up more playing time for the Manimal. Rudy is expendable though.

Just thoughts from a Nuggets fan.

Aga & xNBA: thanks to both of you for your feedback. I've already moved on with my season but I appreciate the feedback. I went to it more from a "ratings in the game" standpoint. I will agree that I took trade #2 because I was hoping to land some kind of low 1st round draft pick for TT and ended up getting a player I wish the Bobcats/hornets could have drafted anyway.

I gave up on trying to rebuild the cavs because they to young and trying to build around a point guard is kind of hard cause you have to find the right big man and big men in the league are either old or young.

So instead i went back to the team i used last year and picked the Orlando Magic.

I made some trades and my first trade was to get someone that can grow with Dwight and rest of my trades was to dumb salaries to create cap space for the future. First trade i made was this one

Nuggets trade Wilson Chandler(ORL), Timofey Mozgov(IND), Kosta Koufos(ORL)

Magic trade: Glen Davis(DEN), Daniel Orton (DEN), Earl Clark (DEN)

Pacers trade A.J. Price (DEN).

i did this trade for a few reasons. One for my team(magic) i did this trade cause Wilson is someone Dwight need on his team because he can score, defend, and spread the floor for Dwight and do it consistently.

Pacers needed some depth at the center position and got it in this deal.

Denver needed a solid starter at Power forward, they got Daniel orton who should provide with some depth and a future backup and a backup point in case one of their point guards get injured.

2nd trade i made was between me and the cavs.

Magic trade: Chris Duhon, Hedo Turkoglu
Cavaliers trade: Daniel Gibson, Samardo Samuels.

Did this trade because it helps both teams in some type of way. For the cavs, it gives them a starter, ball handler so Irving can score more, a back up point guard in duhon, and makes their bench stronger now since duhon is on the team and Gee went from starting to the bench. Last but not least it give them leadership skills that a young team needs

For the Magic it helps me because i get rid of players that wasn't getting playing time and make room salary cap wise for the future.

Last and final trade was a three team trade that helped both teams in some way.

This was a three team trade between the Magic, Raptors and Pacers. for the Raptors i moved Demar DeRozan to small forward which left them with no shooting guard.

Magic trade: Quentin Richardson (TOR), J.J. Redick (TOR), Deandre Liggins (TOR), Samardo Samuels TOR)

Raptors trade: James Johnson (ORL), Linas Kleiza (IND), Rasual Butler (IND), Aaron Gray (IND)

Pacers trade: Lance Stephenson (TOR)

In this deal i gave the raptors, depth, shooters, and young pieces to help core players later on in the future.

Magic, got rid of Redick overpaid contract, traded Quentin contract as well, and got rid of young players that wouldn't have got no playing time.

Last but not least, gave the pacers depth, at center, and gave them some back ups for Danny granger in case he ever get injured.


I signed Greg Oden to be my 6th man, Joey Graham to be my role player to go along with Ishmael Smith.

My starting lineup is Dwight Howard, Ryan Anderson, Wilson Chandler, Jason Richardson, and Jameer Nelson.

Still trying to see if i should put start Dwight at Power Forward and move Greg Oden to the starting line up or Keep Anderson in. So far we are 11-5, 1 game behind the Heat, and 4th overall in the conference.

We are one trade away from being up there with the bulls and Heat. So what do you think about the team and who should i try to target to get and put with Howard and Chandler.

After the trades i played and now is 28-10 in the west tied for first with heat in the conference. I made a trade, sending Josh Powell, Ryan Anderson and a 2013 2nd round pick to the bulls for Brain Scalabrine, and Taj Gibson.

My last trade i am going make might be Jameer Nelson for Mo Williams. Should i make that trade or keep Nelson

How are these two?

Avery Bradley and Boston's 2012 2nd rounder (#24) for Iman Shumpert. Knicks already have 2 other impact PGs, and they'll need a good young SG, since Smith and Fields are both testing FA.

Second trade is Rondo for Pau Gasol and the #13 overall pick. I do already have Bass and Johnson, but Gasol is much better than both, I get a mid-1st, and Gasol's contract is a year shorter, so I'll have lots of cap in 2014, after (hopefully) the Big 3 retire. Probably gonna draft a C like Ezeli with the #13 pick and probably a SF or SG with my #24 pick.

Here's how my roster will look:

I understand it's worse now, but I think I can work on Shumpert and make him into a great player. Even if I can't, I'm really good at isolation with Shumpert, and his size is overwhelming for most PGs.

As the T-Wolves I traded N. Pekovic and a 2012 1st rounder for Paul George. I did this because the T-Wolves have a pretty crappy supporting cast outside of Love and Rubio. Paul George can rain threes and dunk, he also has a decent mid range game. In order to make up for the loss of a center I just slid Love to the center position and am now starting Derrick Williams.

I also traded Anthony Randolph and a 2013 1st rounder to the Thunder for James Harden and Nick Collison and a 2012 2nd rounder. I really didn't need Randolph, he wasn't going to get major minutes anyways. I get another scoring option who can take care of the ball when Rubio is sitting.

Dallas sends George Hill, Shawn Marion, top 10 protected 1st rounder

to Indiana for Darren Collison and David West.

This rids me of Shawn Marions 9.3 million next season and would give me about 23 million in cap space next season. David West's contract is expiring and Collison is signed for about 2 mil less per year. It makes sense for the future, but who knows how many seasons we will go so I want to be competitive this season too.

How about pull what new York did to acquire Melo multi player for a superstar the T-wolves maybe Beasley and others for Melo...Beasley has been in trade discussion before...so it's somewhat realistic only thing, I only see Melo going somewhere big market...twins city isn't really big market. But nonetheless something you could get for him...
