Re: Official Jordan Challenge "I beat it" "This is how I did it" Thread

I'm doing them on pro which seemed like it was going to be a challenge at first, especially with only 8 min quarters. For the Arrival I got 64 points pretty with a few minutes left then needed a fadeway jumper from Oakley to get MJ's 6th assist.

Then against the Cavs I didn't expect to get it first try. I had 27 pts and 6 asts at halftime and then decided to just iso MJ on the wing the rest of the game. It was real cheesy but he went off scoring 31 in each of the last two quarters to finish with 89 lol. He gets so good when he's hot. The key is getting a big lead and then the CPU starts pressing and all you have to do is break it with MJ and then you're in the open floor.

I wish I could do them with 12 min quarters so I didn't have to play so cheesy but it's still fun watching Jordan go off and shoot everytime.

I switch MJ on Dominic instead of Pippin. I mostly used Jordan on D to deny Dominic the ball much as possible. The only problem was Paxon couldn’t hold Spud Webb. He almost had 30 points. Barly won the game!

I’m really having a hard time scoring over 50 points on 8 min quarters. I’m not asking to make it easy. I think 10 mins would be perfect.
Yeah your right it's def the easiest, but I got screwed my first go around as Dominique got 26 points, the last 10 points coming in the end when I had my reserves in getting some garbage time minutes. I even set the defensive settings to double team wilkins, play tight on ball and off ball, but the dominique went well human highlight film on me, kind of out of the blue considering his stretch in the third when he missed eight straight shots lol. I kind of wish the computer realized the score and situation and kind of gave me leeway in terms of stopping dominique as the game was well in hand and my reserves were in.

My favorite finish so far has been the Wilkins one. I was up one point, 30 seconds left, Wilkins has 23 points, I have the ball. Doc Rivers steals it from me while I'm trying to run the clock down, he scores. Hawks up 1 with 22 seconds left. I run it down, go by 3 defenders with MJ, dunk for the win, and completion of the challenge =D

Haha, yep, that's all you gotta do. Once they start pressing it's game over and yes it's really cheesy. Oh well lol. If I could bump the quarters up I'd play on All Star, but whatever, it's still fun as hell.

You're describing my experience to a T. I forgot to even adjust the level beforehand, since it was the first game I played, so I won by a lot, and it was cheesy in the fashion I completed it, but it was so freaking fun. I'm going to go give the Cleveland scenario a run.

most definitely feel dirty in the cheese sense but I end up finishing with plenty of time

I just completed the double nickel game with ease... dunked on Ewing again and again, and just flat out embarrased Stars at the mid range...

I've tried 4 now and have only beaten the Wilkins one. It was actually really easy for me. I adjusted the defensive match-up to always double team Wilkins and he only scored about 18 or so. I'm starting to get the hang of the isomotion stuff. I never used it last year.

Fathers day is hard because of the 9 rebounds. If you cheat off your man they will score. If they miss, you have to fight Rodman, Pippen and Longley for the board. I ended up with 30, 9 and 11 but I ended up losing chasing so many rebounds.

Someone mentioned switching Jordan to the center position helped get the ball inside for easy points. This strategy might also help for rebounds.

For "The Arrival"...63 points at Boston.

Switch MJ to SF and you should not have a problem getting 63. Larry Bird can't guard MJ for anything and a simple crossover gives you an open jumper against Bird.

I've been able to create the missing players and add them to missing teams as I see fit. Each classic team has three open roster spots. After those three spots are filled, I have just traded the real (created) player for the fake one. However, you can't trade from free agency so I just assign a created player to the 76ers, trade him to the classic for a fake, then release the fake into free agency.

I see you're a 360 user, I was in the OS 2K Roster section here and saw at least one person (Ray Dog?) has uploaded a completed Historic Team roster.

had to up the difficulty after destoying the Celtics playing with the default settings.

playing on suerstar now dropped the 5-5 wearing the 45 on the knicks

and had 30 with Pip which included a nasty bang on Ewing. won by 10

Use this thread to announce which ones you've beaten(no spoilers plz on what u get unless u use a spoiler button), and how you beat it(what difficulty etc) Thanks!
The best way to get the 63 ( I came so close last night had 59 points, 7 ast and 51%) is put player lock on Jordan. It will let you get open and call for the ball.

I think for most of the Jordan challenges the best way to play is by only controlling Jordan.

Btw a good cheat if you want to call it for the 63 and 69 point game is to let the CPU keep it close and force the game to go to OT to make up the remaining points.
