Well if playing each and every game is the reason these problems are happening that would be very odd. Since it seems like it has a lot to do with the rookie classes generated and potential and it's effects on trading.

But erick you have to understand some of these guys that sim into the future DO play every game. They just want to make sure of the problems in the mode before they go and play every game then run into some annoying bug/glitch or problem and then have to start ALL OVER again.

After reading most of this whole thread I've come to a simple conclusion:

Until we get some kind of patch, I think it's best to control all 30 teams, with one primary team that you control and have the settings where the CPU controls all off season and in season task. The only thing you do is monitor the CPU.
Example: I simulated a season and the CPU did a trade where Steve Nash went to the Celtics and they still had Rondo. With controlling all thirty teams you can simply reverse the trade b/c it makes no sense (at least to me). I still let the CPU do trades but the ones that are "off the wall" I will take action.

Another thing controlling all 30 teams allow you to do is monitor rotations and player roles. This is useful when a starter/star player gets injured and his role changes and the CPU does not change it back or the player moral is hit very hard. Now you are able to control the players moral in respect to a real life situation. ( I like to play with moral/ and team chemistry)

I've edited my own draft classes for 2011 and 2012 (I coach AAU basketball so I got a chance to see most these guys in live action) My highest rated player Harrison Barnes is a 78 w/ 80 potential. Perry Jones is a 77 w/92 potential. I only have 5 players in the 70s and it's low 70s. Every one else is 68s and below. I based this on 2k's 2010 draft class and my personal observations. (It took me a while to do this)

I've simulated through the season(s) controlling one team (no 30 teams) and the no trade/ injury moral/ no FA signings are very present. But controlling all 30 and having the CPU do all the GM task works fine and with the draft class I have. The only downside is that you don't have the "full"CPU AI affect which is what most people want more than anything.

Just my thoughts on the whole issue.

that's fine and a workaround but i really don't want to have to control all 30 teams and keep up on them all if possible. i'd rather play more and do everything for my 1 team rather than have to constantly make changes, cancel trades, and babysit because this type of stuff hasn't been fixed for the past few years. it should've been tested thoroughly and prevented. if you like controlling all of the teams then it's fine but i don't have the time or want to. not hating on you but just saying. also, did i miss something or was there no day 1 patch? i didn't notice an update when i first played.

I feel ya on that man. I want to just do one team as well. But the gameplay is very good and I would like to play multiple seasons but if after the 2nd season the game has flaws then it's really a buzz kill. I really just do the 30 teams for the trade logic though everything else I really don't mess with... as far as the patch, not sure, I didn't notice it.

So, to confirm...these are the problems that need to be addressed:

- teams with horrible away records in regular season
- home court advantage way too high in playoffs
- rookie classes consist of too many high ranked players
- no trades after year 1
- many high ranked free agents do not get signed and stay in free agents list all season

I'm sort of new to the 2K Basketball series. Do they usually address these known game issues publicly and actually release a patch to correct said issues?

Unlike last year, if 2k can tweak the HCA and trade issues, I think those of you that have done exhaustive research (thank you) have given us tools and ideas to make the rest of it work. I just could not play 2k10 Association because of all the things you had to do to get some sort of decent Association.

BTW, I'm just not interested in controlling all 30 teams. It's not laziness, I just don't like playing poker, looking at everyone's cards, and telling them what cards to play - know what I mean? Just personal preference.

Control all 29 teams, set every team to auto every thing except yours of course...

-Auto Thunder traded Thabo/DJ White to Chi for Korver/ 2nd round pick

-Sixers traded Lou Williams/Kapono to GS for Beidrins/Carney

-Nuggets traded Lawson/Balkman to Wiz for Howard/ '12 1st round pick (seem like the Nuggets are going all out to when a chip before melo leave...They traded for Kidd, Marion, Delonte West, Howard, Turkolu and Shaq lol)

Billups, Howard, Melo, Marion, Anderson as the Starters...Shaq, Harrington, West, Kidd and Turkolu on the bench

So many to name....

Lots of draft picks were traded away also

Despite The Nuggets pushing for a tittle, the only "Blockbuster Trade' was the Nash/Manu trade...

Here's how the nuggets blew up:

11/2- Ty Lawson/Balkmon for Howard (FA after season) and '12 1st round pick (Wizards getting rid of Arenas and starting hinrich???)

11/17- Martin/'11 1st round pick for Kidd/Marion (Dallas get a contract and a pick) but why is the Sun/Mavs blowing up?

11/22- Affalo to Mem for Carroll/'12 2nd round pick

1/5- JR Smith/ '11 1st round pick for Shaq/West (Nate was traded from the celts)

2/6- Nene/'12 2n round pick for Turk/'12 1st round pick

Indeed turning trades off until Jan would prevent this, but it stills makes sense, it isnt like they are randomly trading players, they're just doing it at a unrealistic pace

Going to see how AUTO AI will handle the off season...

BTW Im using Nogsters Rosters (lowered POT a bit) and CWSapp's draft classes

Having not really played the NBA 2k series much in recent years, and having no experience in controlling all 30 teams, how does offseason free agency work under these conditions? If Im controlling all 30 teams but all front office tasks are auto for everyone but my team will they continue to bid on free agents or will I be forced to resign, cut and bid on players? I dont mind the 30 team approach as long as Im not stuck babysitting the teams through the entire offseason so any info would be much appreciated.

Nope you dont have to do anything for the teams you dont want to babysit...

Only negatives so far is that I've seen 0 multi team trades and I cant find a way to let the teams auto draft without skipping the draft...Therefore there were 0 draft day trades

The AI even waive players (I seen DLeague Players waived)

-I had to cut a player for the Suns because they had 16 players and it wouldnt let me advance to the preseason

-Nuggets sign Howard, Peitrus, Delfino, Kristic and drafted a PF/C with their only pick (2nd round)
Billups, Howard, Marion, Harrington, Kristic...Kidd, Turk, Pietrus, Delfino, Anderson, Azubuike on bench

Nuggets look good on paper but they have alot of aging vets therefor they are regressing...4 guys rated over 70 with Billups highest at 80...Infact, skimming thru all the rosters, 0 teams are stacked with a bunch of 80's...

- 1 80 rated player wasnt signed (Caron butler) 4 other guys in the low 70'sa

- 10 trades in the preseason

- Turned trades off until January first and there where only 2 trades...

- CPU teams send down, call up players for the Dleague

- 0 signings during the season (players not missing any games from injury is the reason)

- 0 coaches were fired of course

- Cant use trade finder

I think the way to not auto draft is to put the team or teams you want to draft for on manual. This combined with auto drafting for all the other teams and trading on auto should allow you to have trades also.

Ill test it later.

I just did this, I had 41 trades in year one, more than iv'e ever seen before..
