Hopefully we get a patch to fix these issues (terrible road records, 80+ prospects with 95+ potential every draft) soon!

Re: It would be a total Buzz kill if Association mode is as broken...
THANKS to Serra (for confirming it with tests) and to whoever came up with the alternative of using a shortened association ... we need to specify that the issues are prevalent on an 82 games association.
At least we have something to enjoy while 2K patches this issues ... It would be odd to play a shortened one, but at this point, I take anything.
Association mode it is not broken, it just has flaws, thus too many to surely detract an important part of the inmersion it offers.Comment

I'm a bit late here but i can talk by experience regarding the FA bug. I played a 29 game association and every FA got signed. I did not had any cap space because i was messing around a bit but the only thing i remember is Carmelo going to the Pacers or something. There were like 5 or 6 80+ overall players on free agency and they were all gone in one day lol...Comment

@timid...
Reading ur posts, you got me thinking about starting over and controlling all 30 teams. I'm fairly early on in my chise now at 2-10 record, but have only played 5gms. I will edit my draft class again still to get a more realistic draft class, and turn off player morale, and player roles off.
So what would I need to do during the season for each team?? And then for the offseason, do I have to decide what players to resign or accept the team opton or not? I'd rather not have to decide who to resign, but I have no trouble bidding for FAs for other teams if I have to do that.
I think what I'm doing with controlling one team is good enough though. If I wanna make a trade, cuz I've decided i'll be making all trades for every team. I'm going to look at the standing around mid January. Look at the rumor mill, and look to trade off some players if I can. I won't be trading Dirk, Duncan, or Nash like the cpu does alot which is completely unrealistic and would never happen. But trading for that missing piece for a team that's pushing into the playoffs I could pull off.Comment

IMHO trading Nash is really possible. Guy is old, never won a ch`ship, if Suns will suck in my assoc. arround All-Star game I will trade him to contender, who has a weak link at PG position. Same with G. Hill, J. Kidd for example...Comment

True, I can see Nash possibly being traded mid season if they suck. Kidd def could be traded along with Hill. I've seen Nash being traded to the Pistons before by the cpu, and have heard he was traded to Boston before by someone else. So the cpu has no clue what thewy are doing when trading Nash. Pistons were a losing team, and Boston has a top 5 PG already! So doing the trades myself is the only way.
Another idea is this...Turn off autosave of course..when it comes past the trade deadline, look at what the cpu did. If the trades make sense, reload ur chise and manually make that trade. If the trade made no sense, then don't make the trade for them. But you could look to move the player they were trading still, just for something else to make it fair.Comment

You can leave all the resigning players and all the stuff the cpu.....I just control the draft and the cpus rosters during the season...
One thing tho is that last year if you skipped resigning period, the cpu would offer all the FA's one year deals....Not sure if its the same this year so u may need to do the qualifying offers yourself...But if you don't, all you gotta do is change the offer during the FA period....
And I know what you mean about Nash...In real life, the Suns would get great value for him but in the game, if it was up to the CPU, they may trade him for Kirk Heinrich or something, lol......I'll trade Nash in my season if he gets unhappy but right now, he's very happy on the Suns and they actually have a winning record...I forgot who I have on their team now that Amare is out but they have a decent team....
I also take into account team records before making trades because I don't want to mess up teams with good chemistry who are winning....If it aint broke dont fix it..Last edited by timid; 10-13-2010, 05:53 PM.Comment

Re: It would be a total Buzz kill if Association mode is as broken...
I also had to up their tempo and fast break sliders because they were too slow....And I actually made them favor guards or forwards more since they don't have Amare anymore and the result is Nash and Richardson especially putting up great numbers....
I really love checking the stats and league leaders because with the changes ive made, the season plays out more dynamically.....Its really fun deciding who should be the 6th men on the team...its not always good to make the highest rated bench player 6th man....I usually make the best bench scorer the 6th man...sometimes their happy with that role, sometimes their not.....If his number's suffer because of his rating drop because of unhappy morale, I made change his role or trade him...But if he's putting up good numbers as a 6th man and the team is winning, Ill leave him...Comment
