Re: NBA 2K11 Patch Suggestions
Oon the PC version some patches hat were present PRE-PATCH 2K10 are back.
This is unacceptable and I sincerely hope they will at least be re-addressed with a patch
*Gametrack & Hot-Zones not registering all shots
*In ability to edit rosters for multiple user controlled teams in Playoff mode.
*the sub screen reseting all the time in-game making it difficult to substitute
*some quirks and conflicts with subs when using two identical (logitech) gamepads.
*The subs reseting in the Time-out screen if moving to a different tab (ex. def settings, coach emphasis).
Those are the most glaring ones I have noticed so far, and what really irks me is that some are still there from 2K10. Not very classy to say the least...Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Patch Suggestions
1. More charging calls.
2. Tighten up the controls. The players still feel way too herky jerkey. I move the stick in one direction and the player spins around and goes in the other direction sometimes. This gets very very frustrating really quickly. I remember one year 2K Sports tightened up the controls through a patch and the game was leaps and bounds better for it.
3. Cut down on the fronting of post players, or give us the option to change/tweak it. I am having guys score way too many easy baskets because my defender poorly fronts the post player and gets beat. I would like this to be tweaked or at least give us an option/slider to adjust the frequency at which it happens.
4. I would like to see the CPU defenders play tighter defense against me. I have tried adjusting lots of sliders, but the CPU defenders still seem to sag too far off of good shooters like Allen, Durant, Rip Hamilton, etc... leading to way too many easy 3 pointers on my part. This really looks bad on drives to the hole where I will fake the CPU defender out, and they will retreat way too far backwards and to the left or right instead of staying tight on me and trying to cut off my lane to the basket.
5. PLEASE bring back the old "post up" controls. This pulling the left and right triggers at the same time and pushing the left stick in a certain direction is frustrating, counter-intuitive and totally unnecessary. I have had way too many lost possessions because I wasted too much time trying to get my player to "post up" properly, to no avail. I don't see why the old tried and true method of holding down the left trigger was eschewed in favor of this new control scheme, but I flat don't like it and I feel it needs to go quickly.
6. The outrageous runs and turnovers need to be toned down. I have had way too many balls slip right through my Point Guards hands on freakin' in-bounds passes where he is only standing a few feet from the passer. I don't mind unforced turnovers, but the way some of them happen in this game is complete garbage and very frustrating.
With respect to the "runs" programmed in to the game, they often feel way too cheap and way too impossible to overcome. I have had teams go on "runs" where I couldn't even hit shots directly under the hoop time and time again. I will consistently get my best three point shooters open, only to have them continuously bricking shots because the other team was on a "run". I don't mind teams going on "runs", but if I design a play to get my team an easy or open bucket, my players shouldn't consistently miss the shots simply because of some pre-programmed "run". I understand that extreme "runs" may happen SOMETIMES, but they shouldn't happen all of the time. Again, sliders for "Run Effectiveness" and "Make Open Shots" would be awesome so that we can tune this kind of stuff.
I'd really like to see a "Make Open Shots" slider, because that can help keep Field Goal percentages and gameplay more realistic. The problem now is that if you lower all of the shooting sliders, you begin to miss too many open shots which screws up the Field Goal percentages, but if you increase the shooting sliders, then you start hitting too many contested shots that you shouldn't be making.
7. Not enough shooting fouls for the CPU. I have upped every foul slider that I can think of and yet the CPU still only goes to the line an average of 9 times per game on 9 minute quarters. That is not nearly enough foul shots a game as I believe the NBA average is 22-23 fouls a game (per team), and I consistently average around 18 per game.
8. The CPU passes out of way too many layups. This needs to be tuned to be more realistic.
9. There is a lack of boxing out on rebounds, and all players do is jump straight up in the air for the ball instead of using the proper technique by boxing out the opposing player to grab a rebound.
10. CPU players get WIDE OPEN way too much on screen plays. There is one play in particular that Toronto calls for Bargnani that was leaving him wide open in the corner for threes time & time again. Even if I tried to fight through the screens, my defender would get "hung up" on the offensive player and be unable to contest the wide open three point shots.
11. The CPU calls the same plays over and over again with little diversity. The CPU also seems to call plays by "position" rather than by player. I saw the exact same plays run for David Andersen of the Raptors (a backup center) that I saw run for their star center Andrea Bargnani. There is no way that David Andersen should be the focal point of an offense the same way Andrea Bargnani is.Last edited by Illustrator76; 10-21-2010, 10:38 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Patch Suggestions
The Cpu call the same plays TOO much
Where the hell is the boxing out at!?!
More aggresive cpu drives to the basket
And for the love of god please stop the Tim Duncan contact shots from going in so much. God I HATE playing the spurs lol
speaking of contact shots Im tired of seeing that same post up contact animation {i think everyone knows what im talking about} is it possible to add some type of variety to it?Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Patch Suggestions
I got a list:
1) Revert the gameplay back to original self (right out of the box) with more contact, harder penetration, more mid-air collision, less dunks, less PIP, more sim-style of play
2) More Off-ball Movements by cpu/cpu teammates (screens, posting up, getting position, etc)
3) Fix the "Tendency" and "Touches" for Star players so that they do not jack up shots as soon as they get the ball (Durant/Carter especially beyond the 3pt line). Role Players and others should be more involved in the offense for the cpu team.
4) Try fixing the vertical for all players so that their heads don't go above the rim when jumping for rebounds, very unrealistic jumping heights I noticed.
5) Incorpriate "walking" anmiation if possible when the PG/Ball handler is walking up the court to set their half-court offense
6) Headband Color Option and ability to choose what color accessory players/teams wear for their home/away/alternative jerseys. (example: Boston, Pierce wear white headbands and white accessories at home, while on the road they wear all green for headbands and accessories)
The focus of the patch should mainly be on the core gameplay. For some reason via Roster Update or whatever the case may be, the gameplay changed from what it was right out of the box which imo made the game worst.2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Patch Suggestions
Haven't really tested this myself but for the foul issues have you guys tried raising the foul tendency slider too. I feel like that has to help. The foul sliders are probably just how often fouls are called when they occur so if they're at 100 you just never get away with them. Again, not 100 percent sure about this but I think it could help.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Patch Suggestions
If the patch can just fix the game so that all the sliders are useful and affect the game when you adjust it, that would be more than enough for me. I like to tinker with sliders until I get the game to play just to my liking, but the ineffectiveness of a lot of the sliders really have ruined it for me.
- Vertical slider = useless
- Except for shooting fouls, the rest of the foul sliders barely (if at all) affect the game.
- Foul tendency = useless
- Offensive and defensive sliders barely (if at all) show a difference.
- User shot blocking (I'm averaging 12.5 blocks per game with user block slider at 0).
I'm positive there are more sliders that have barely (if any) any effect in the game, but I have not tested it long enough to be sure yet.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Patch Suggestions
1. Some plays in-game are wrong from practice plays. See this thread for more info: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ice-plays.html
2. Not enough off-ball fouls in general. One reason is CPU runs same play over and over and hardly use pick-and-rolls. Thus I've never seen the CPU commit a moving screen so far.
Is there moving screens away from the ball? I know there is when trying to set a on-ball screen. I believe Live 10 had off-ball illegal screens.
Also I've seen this off-ball foul only once. Boozer sets a screen for Rose. Deron Williams who was getting screened, ran right into Boozer and a collision occurred. Williams was called for the foul. I thought it was a very cool animation. Should occur more.
Mike Wang said this on his Twitter:
yes. there are off ball fouls and moving screens in 2K11
In other words, more off-ball fouls.Comment
