This is exaactly what turned me off from NBA2K9 (the only 2K prior to this years editions that I ever played).

I play the Heat in my association and am loving it "out of the box". I average about 2-3 dunks with Wade, 2-3 with Lebron, maybe one with Bosh. It plays very sim like in that regard.

Another poster commented on the cheap tricks the devs used to keep the PIP and dunks lower. Yes I notice it. But it does not bother me one bit. It makes me work harder to rotate the ball and get a clear lane to the basket when i want to go to the hoop.

He is good at getting layups off in traffic but he's not THAT good.

Fisher being able to shift/slide over and bump AB every time he's about to blow by him is in no way simulation.

This Post and the previous post by Mos1ted just proved the point that I and many of us are trying to prove. Most people that are complaining are complaining b/c they cant exploit someone who has an advantage in one area in real life teams will Adjust, and roll over and help fisher. I liked AB alot I liked him when he went to Oregon. I like D. Fish alot (he's just old) a lot of it is b/c he is from ARK-LR. (I live not too far). Anyways I lot of people are complaining b/c they cant "juke the whole team with one guy any more" and by the way Fisher may cant keep up with AB but lot of times it is a chest match b/c he can still outsmart with certain angles and even bump him up sometimes when AB doesn't get pass him.

I am so sick of that comment. It has become cliche.

It's a video game...and an amazing one at that.

I stopped reading any thread with anything talking about:

          "Trades are broken"

          "This game is broken"

          "Why can't I score"

          "What's wrong with (insert here)"

Even impression threads these days have been regulated to whine fests of the 3rd degree.

IF you did not know better you would think every sports game is garbage reading all the shlock around here.

I have been rading these forums for years but finally joined recently becuase I can't sit slient anymore to the constant bashing every single sports game seems to get these days (A few desrverdly). It's one thing to give good constructive well thought out concerns about games but there is way to much trolling and just idiotic posts running rampent around here and flooding the forums with thread after thread of the same tired BS.

Yeah some games have serious flaws that can really be bad and need a fix...but this game is far from that situation we see with some other titles (MLB 2K, NBA Elite and to some Madden).

I love when this site is good at helping the Dev's tweak GLARING issues and giving them ideas for improvemnts in futre titles.

As far as glaring gameplay issues in NBA2K11?

Come on haters. Friggin best Sports game of all time!!!!!

Just play the game...stop coming here and telling all of us how it sucks...if you still can't get into it...return it!!! And move on.

But for the love of god please don't impose your agenda on the Devs to screw up a game that for most us (I am sure most of us):

          LOVE!

couldnt agree more with the OP....its sad bc sometimes i stay away from the forums now bc of the so called "broken things"....ppl forget its just a game i want it as realistic as possible but i also understand its not gonna b flawless...identifying improvements is one thing but complaining about it being broken, too hard or horrible within a week of it release is another thing

                Thanks for your response.
I was just funnin with ya Dip. Again, you hit it right on the head. I have learned that once a game drops one must completely ignore alot of these irritating complaint threads. I find myself ignoring alot of the impressions in the impressions threads as well. It seems that some of these gamers buy a game for the express purpose to play it, find all that is wrong with it, and then complain. They completely destroy any pleasure that they or anyone else might receive from the game.

2k went all out on this game and from this gamer's perspective it is most appreciated. I hope that Beluba and the gang read this thread to understand that some of us here have a clear perspective concerning their effort this year.

Re: Has or will Operation Sports "ruin" NBA2K11?

I've had the game since release, but I didn't have a good game till last night. Why? My shooting percentages were always in the 30's, never scored more than 20pts during the 1st quarter and had too many turnovers.

I've played this game since 2k7, so, please keep that in mind. I watched Da Czar video on passing and that helped a lot with the turnovers. I did go into practice mode several times to try to get my shooting touch down, but that didn't seem to help. I tried many sliders and different pro/sim, default settings and some of those couldn't help my shooting woes. Finally, I found a slider set that allowed me to play the game which felt like the NBA and it's a week and a half later.

Edit- Didn't play in the game in any casual mode.

I can't imagine anyone off the street that hasn't played this game before and doesn't cruise around the net to understand the game off the bat. To me, it was a deep learning curve. For some of you, if you jumped in off the bat and were successful, that's great, but not everyone is the same.

All I'm saying, is, consider who your audience might be. Put yourself in their shoes and try to be helpful instead of , oh no, here we go again. If you have that attitude, (as in there are too many trolls around), then don't read or respond to the thread, as Nova Star suggested above.

This place should be able to coexist with the people that love the game and the people that are having issues with the game.

I dug in on my own and made it happen, but it took awhile. I didn't need to see another, "Get better at the game or go hit the practice courts again. "

Problem is though that those having issues with the game, which are often due to their skill level, are often much louder voices than those who love and appreciate the game for what it is.

Our ability to coexist is threatened when those having issues suggest core changes which may improve their experience but will simultaneously destroy ours. This is what seems to have occurred recently.

I have a hard time believing people pick up some of these fighting games and fps on a whim grabbing almost impossible achievements and can't take the time to figure out how to pass a basketball correctly.

Its not NBA Jam, and the game should have a learning curve. I think its time to stop selling hoops games so short and allow them to evolve. One of the major issues with NBA Live 10 was that when it released people complained of it being too hard because you had to play manual defense, so they took that out and it ruined the game with extra suction and a bunch of other crap as a result.

Thats just much more to swallow than it is learning to take an angle or take a few feet towards the guy you want to pass too.

I agree with the OP, 2k doesnt need to hear out every single whine about the game being too hard if the majority is enjoying it. Being hard never stopped them from playing anything else from Splinter Cell to Super Mario Bros.

@Dipset2050: You have the post of the YEAR! (*chants*dipset, dipset, dipset*)

I cannot tell you how many people always complain about how they want a SIM game, yet when 2K11 delivered, they cried and complained to no end. The problem is that they are used to playing certain other games (*BOOM, what a hit* lol) and they think that they are supposed to dominate EVERY single game, no matter the match up ratings etc. Yet, when you play 2K11, especially against the classic teams who play excellent defense, they struggled because they could not cheese w/o changing the sliders drastically. Great Post again, and let's just say that lot's of so called sim players have been exposed. #2K11 GOTY

I am glad that you at least tried it w/o sliders first.

I am still going to send you some tips though lol

I have been getting better and better with this game through scrimmages in Practice mode. I learn about different players strengths and what they are capable of and use/create mismatches to my advantage and try to limit the CPU from beating me, especially with a superior team.
