    As my guy is 5'7" with capped quickness and speed, a long with capped hands, most of his points rely on the fast break. Taking ~5 seconds to go from rack to rack it used to be basically only mildly contested dunk. Now they don't even try to pass it to me; absolutely horrible. I can't imagine a situation where someone who can beat everyone upcourt wouldn't get the ball on 90% of fast breaks. I got 2 fastbreak buckets between the 2 games, compared to averaging 13 per game prior.

    My experience with my SF (92 overall);
    Absolutely horrible. Went from about 50 points per game (45-60ish, depending on who playing) to about 28-32. The shots that the play calling was giving me were reading as "Bad Shot Selection" from mid range, even with capped mid ranged shooting skills. I was shooting 74% with ~50 pts a game with mostly jumpers, after this patch it looks like I'll be shooting 45% with 30 pts a game.


    In general I'd love to see the automatic play calling go, it's just aweful. Beyond that the contested dunks are awesome. My 7' SF with 99 vertical (and capped off/def rebounding) is actually grabbing more rebounds than millsap (my sf is on the jazz) which makes a lot more sense to me. The rest of the changes seemed great.

    So in short, if you don't want to read all of that, the major issues I have with this that are going to make me not play this game very seriously until fixed are;
    Fast Break AI (If my guy is the only person down there why wouldn't he get a pass with 99 hands? This makes no sense to me. I can't call for the ball everytime (even though I catch it when I do) because once in awhile they actually do throw it down and for some dumb reason my guy quick-passes when they do if I'm trying to call for the pass)
    Automatic play call; speaks for itself in how silly and pointless it is in myplayer. What's the point of telling people their basketball IQ if they don't need to have any basketball IQ to play the game anymore? Icing out key-players and key-playmakers because of their rating is terrible. If one player is shooting 70+% for the season there's no reason to throw the ball to someone who is shooting 20% and only making shots off of offensive rebonds.

    Now you are mad because it is playing more realistic now in myplayer.
    2K just and now you can't cheat or exploit game flaws....

      i think this patch has the made the gameplay much more realistic even on pro or rookie
      you cant get away with unrealistic bs, you pay the price for it now
      this is the most realistic vg b-ball gameplay ive ever played in my life
      the patch improved what was already great
      you have to play with strategy and as a team or you will lose
      if you play the heat and think youre gonna run the ball up an down the court with LBJ and win, not happening, unless you play on pro or rookie, maybe
      online is the same for me, with all the aformentioned stuff, more realistic, and i never had a lag issue anyway

      ASSOCIATION is what i am wondering about
      based on reading thru most of this thread, im kind of scared to start a new one, i pretty much gave up on that mode of the game, because i had put so much time into a FEW associations and they end up corrupting and became unusable
      i have read a few people state they are still freezing up in this mode, THAT SUCKS!
      i'll try for myself, but if i put 100+ hours into another assoc.mode file and it messes up again, IM DONE with that mode

        I am noticing this too. My guys have been missing a little more post patch...but I don't have a big enough sample (4 games). I will see the FT% at the end of my first season to really come to a good conclusion.

        Still though the game is even better post patch overall. I am seeing many more contact animations, I had seen my first defensive 3 second violation last night (cpu commited it), and I am seeing more branched shots, better interior defense and much beter directional passing which is huge in the fast break and pick roll. I am not using icon passin as much for basic passes anymore. I love it.

        The game is playing even tighter no doubt. And only minimal slider adjustments are being made as I tweak through this thing.

          I'm not about to dig through this thread, but I was wondering if this patch actually fixed the stuff in Association mode like it's supposed to have done.

            the trick is not to shoot at the peak of the shot, you need to release it just before the very top...you just need to get the feel for it..

            i was practicing this pre-patch as the jumpers just looked smoother to me whenever i shot the ball but now with the patch you actually need to shoot before the peak of the jumper..

            im actually liking it now...i never needed that green indicator as i really dont pay attention to it..

            EDIT: this is for offline as i havent ventured online yet...
            From my experiment, that's not the case. Some players you still shoot at the peak of the jumper, some don't.

              IMO yes it did.

              No more trade value bug, you can now run plays in intra squad scrimmages.

              Those were the only 2 bugs I had noticed. I don't sim games. I play every single one (82 games season). So as far as AI logic...I have not seen any really dumb trades at all thus far.
              and I am a week away from the trade dealine.

                man, i love how the myplayer plays so far im not freelacing antmore im really play basketball as a team and my teammates are playing and scoring better. I also love the gameplay changes that were made; like going to the hole is more realistic and i love how i can make a pass now without having to be right next to my teammate and passing to him and not getting him doubled, and i like the rebounding and the shot blocking. thank you 2k

                  I still feel this game was just find out of the box. All that really needed changes IMO were the glitches And bugs, the defensive wall created while driving(seriously why is that still there), and tightening up the controls.

                    100% agree. But to my delight they made the game even better with the patch and my fear was they would dumb it down....they did not IMO.

                        That makes zero sense, in real basketball you want to shoot at the top of your jump but and that is how it was pre patch but now its not that way. That does not make any sense. They ruined shooting with this new patch, they need to go back to the way it was or at least let use choose what gameplay patch we want to use.

                          my second impression of this patch is not so good....i mean they fixed a lot of things that were broken but all of a sudden defence is a major problem. i played enough games to say that the take charge is still off depending on who ur trying to take a charge from and points in the paint have sky rocketed because guys just seem to run around you and get way with brutally overuse of the turbo button to get to the rim for a dunk..the whole less bumping has made defence just fragile enough to say the least.jumpshots work well for most players but some of them relise a lot now on memory that actually looking to c when the shooter is just about to peek to release the shot by that time the shot is already in the red for late.stepen curry's shot has to b release by memory cause the animation would mislead u to still b holding the shoot button.(u actually release the shot even b4 his hand is a a position to even shot the ball based on the visual of the animation...check it out for yourselve for reference)this kinda penalize a good shooter with i very difficult release IMO
                          the avoide shot animation is still a problem after a diffender attempt a shot block going for the fake..the shooter still does an avoide animation even if the defender flew by or even if u relocate sometime and then shoot the shooter still does a low percentage fade away avoid contact animation for no reason regarding human input

                            Yep..Same problem...But I tried a ranked game and was able to complete a ranked game although it was pretty laggy and I never had lag before the patch either.

                            This patch has messed up online play and playing games out of the lobbies...they all disconnect within 2-3 minutes from tip off

                              you use your legs to shoot...which makes sense..do you even play real life basketball? its all about the flow of the shot and not the peak of it....im not going to go into a whole thing of how the mechanics work of shooting...

                              i took my time to play the game some more and im getting the hang of the shooting...im just saying what im doing right ingame if your done crying about it in a forum maybe you can get better at shooting down to...

                                Funny thing is, people complained about the timing of the shot release on release day...Adjusted to it, 2k fixes the timing and they complain agian
