Re: NBA 2K11 Patch v1.2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here
Loving almost everything post-patch. However, cpu shot distribution and recognition is still poor. Just played against the Bulls and Deng shot 15 threes. Going 0-15. At some point the cpu needed to stop calling that play or Deng needed to stop shooting.
This seems to happen with teams that don't have many strong offensive players. It's done very well with teams with multiple offensive threats but, what ends up happening is decent teams like the Bulls are much easier to defeat than say the Timberwolves or Wizards.Comment

IMO yes it did.
No more trade value bug, you can now run plays in intra squad scrimmages.
Those were the only 2 bugs I had noticed. I don't sim games. I play every single one (82 games season). So as far as AI logic...I have not seen any really dumb trades at all thus far.
and I am a week away from the trade dealine.
The game is a marvel...go enjoy it.Comment

Loving the patch.
My issue last night is that I was playing Denver last night and they were just playing very weird offensively. Chauncey was chucking a ton of bad shots and not many other players aside from Melo and Chauncey were getting touches. I think it's just the 2K rosters though. Hopefully I can fix this by downloading some rosters that someone has made here.
The good news is that I got a pretty realistic score for once on 12 minute quarters. If I could have just gotten more free throw attempts (had just under 10 for both teams), the stats would have been pretty much perfect and that's with mostly default settings aside from the changes ehh mentioned a few pages back.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Since I installed this patch, I have been unable to play an online unranked game past 5 minutes of the 1st quarter (I play 10 min periods). I tried about 15 times the first night, and another 10 times last night.
Why did this thing get released before a long holiday weekend instead of last week or next week when 2K could quickly resolve these foul ups as a result of their patch?

Speaking to the AI and how bad they're playing, I've been playing team up more since 1v1 doesn't work, and when I play with the Bulls, Deng goes out of his way to try to lose the game.
I don't even pass him the ball anymore, because he'll just run out to the 3pt line and jack up a terrible shot, or if hes standing out there already, he'll take the shot no matter if hes open or if yao ming is standing in front of him stuffing the ball down his throat. He just doesn't care.
This all takes place on superstar difficulty btw.Comment

Nice to see the play diagrams in My player, hopefully that will force my team to take better shots which will increase our FG% and opponents FG%. every team i've played with in My player, we all shoot under 40%. the best player i've played with in My Player has been Chris Paul and he is only avg 16ppg 8.5 asst 38% FG and 30% 3pt.Comment

Hi,
i read that the patch improves contact in the paint and underneath the rim...has this patch adressed or fixed any of the morphing (i. e. pass through chest) how is your experience in that aspect of the game?Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Patch v1.2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here
I also I have a question to anyone playing Association or My player, how are the cpu trades going after the patch? My teams in My Player have been making ridiculous trades. My NO Hornets roster goes as follows
Pg - Chris Paul
Sg - Marcus Thorton
SF - Trevor Ariza, Josh Howard
PF - D.West, Elton Brand, Craig Brackins
C - Me, E. Okafor, S. Marks, Tony Battie, Aaron Gray
I have requested every time for a back up PG (Will Bynum, Kirk Hinrich, Shaun Livingston) and a SG/SF(Chase Buddinger, Delonte West) yet we somehow ended up with more PFs and more Cs which we were already overloaded with. This was supposed to be fixed this year, but it looks alot like last year. I also had the Clippers draft my PF while they already had Blake Griffin, Craig Smith at PF, and Kaman, Jordan at C.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Patch v1.2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here
Here's my take on the My Player changes.
I like the majority of the changes to game mechanics, like jumping, boxouts, etc. I don't like playcalling for the team that I'm playing on. I think most of us that are playing My Player would agree that the ambition in this mode is to eventually become a star/the number one or two option on the team.
I'm playing a second-year athletic power forward on the 76ers. The starting line-up is Lou Williams, Turner, Iguodala, me, and the 2011 #7 pick at centre (with Thad Young getting the majority of the minutes at C). Iggy is the oldest starter at 27. If you were coaching this team, would you want to slow it down and initiate the half court set, or would you want to run? I didn't feel that the way the team was playing pre-patch was unrealistic. Lots of running, slashing to the basket, drive and kick, etc.
Post-patch, the plays generally end with a contested jumper at the end of the shot clock. The team did those kind of things before the patch, too, but it was way less common and I wasn't shocked or upset when they clanked. As other people have mentioned, PGs won't make any kind of move if a player is out of position until the shot clock is under 10. I haven't seen any kind of fast-break numbers advantage points because there is always a play called and everyone needs to be in position before the PG initiates the offense.
I think that a playcalling slider specific to My Player would go a long way, and I see it being a lot less development work than completely revamping playcalling AI. Right now, it feels like every play is forced. I don't feel like "I'm letting the offense come to me" or "taking what the defense gives me" like in Association games because the AI doesn't seem to have the ability to read defensive mismatches or slips. I'm sure that the 2 brush screen for midrange jumper would have been great, but when I'm shooting 55% and have I'm posting up Aaron Brooks, the AI should know to throw it into the post, just like I'll give it to my PG when Yao is trying to lock him down on the perimeter.Comment
