For those who play preferred position (PG in my case) in association mode (which means you only play one position during the game - similar to how myplayer plays).

How or Can you use total control passing in this mode? I've been unable to pass the ball and control that other teammate.

Lead Icon Passing? Are the effects pronounced or subtle. I don't seem to notice any difference. It could be another feature that is absent in (preferred position) mode.


Is their a feature or slider that controls your teammates willingness to run a play completely?

Directional passing vs. icon passing? I find directional passing inconsistent. I could push left and B button and the guard will pass to the right. Are most of you guys using directional passing succesfully?

What is the white bracket or circle around another player during offense? It will change throughout a position. Is this the closest player to you?


Quick plays for any player on court (once again with preferred position on)? It seems that in the first weeks with this edition (2k11), I was able to call a quick play for any of the positions. Was this taken away or is their something I'm missing?

I don't play with that preferred position option but I'm guessing Total Control Passing is turned off. I notice it gets turned off (I think) when you start a new Association.

No idea on the run plays thing. I don't think so.

Yeah, if you play on Broadcast cam I find directional passing sometimes inconsistent, but that could be because I've been using Icon Passing almost exclusively for the last 3 years or so. I know post-patch directional passing is much better.

The white circle is the player you are aiming at. If you have LeBron to your left and you move the L stick in that direction, a white circle will appear under him letting you know that when you press A the pass will go to him.

No idea on the quick plays since I don't play with preferred position, so I don't know what that does or doesn't change.

In my player mode, I noticed that my CPU PG is calling the same three or four plays over and over again, so I was wondering if there was some way to change his play calling choices in the main game menu (outside the my player mode)?? I noticed there was an area within the main game area where you can change plays for different positions, but do those settings transfer over to MP??

I am having a problem with My Player and was hoping someone might be able to guide me in the right direction? My SF player is rated between 80-85 in all shooting categories (including layups), but 90% of the time, whenever I drive the lane for a layup in traffic, the shot barely hits the rim, or gets blocked, and it simply looks awful. What attributes should I be increasing to stop this? My vertical is set on 80, so I should be getting proper height. Any advice??

Does anyone know how to get 3(me + 2 others) people into a private team up game or streetball game? It seems that one person can get invited but the other is blocked out and getting a network error. Please help....

My SF player is rated between 80-85 in all shooting categories (including layups), but 90% of the time, whenever I drive the lane for a layup in traffic, the shot barely hits the rim, or gets blocked, and it simply looks awful. Increase your layup & shoot in traffic rating, I believe.

Guys, I went through and did some edits on the 12/30/2010 official 2k roster for all teams. That roster has players like KG, Jennings, etc. in the red or injured. Is there any way to eliminate the injuries in my rosters to make them healthy again or will I have to just start over again with a roster that has those players healthy? Any possible hints or work arounds are appreciated.

I know this, but I do this and it's very inconsistent, only one I'm good at is the up and under in the post, that's about it.

How can I increase player morale?

I'm doing an association with my Blazers and I'm sitting B-Roy out and as I figured he'd start getting upset. I was just wondering if there was a little trick to increase his morale?
