I used to play NBA Live 07 and I remember they had All Star Weekend mode in the game (skills challenge, dunk contest, all star game etc.). 2K should either include that into the game, or expand their blacktop mode like in the old days where you could choose multiple street locations (Rucker Park, Fonda Rec. center, etc.
Does anybody remember that from like NBA 2k3?Comment

Maybe instead of messing around with powder puff, ea sports like "features", 2k should perfect their product, make my player playable for once and fix those pathetic servers. I want sim, not arcade.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12 Should Get Redunkulous (IGN)
I really don't care for dunk contests and Allstar stuff, but I guess it's important to many people. The only time I even consider playing an Allstar game is during the Allstar weekend (and even that rarely happens). Most of the time it doesn't mean anything to me.
However, I think that if 2K does add Allstar stuff, it would be nice if it was locked until the actual date of the Allstar weekend. Then, on the Friday of the Allstar weekend, the mode becomes available. Just something to wait for, rather than playing it 3 weeks before the season even starts...My Specs:

Re: NBA 2K12 Should Get Redunkulous (IGN)
Yeah, NBA Live 10 had the dunk contest and 3-point shootout, and I really want each in NBA 2K11 as I find myself wanting to participate in the All-Star activities as All-Star Weekend progresses in real life. Would be fun to see it as described by the OP, I would rather choreograph than actually do it as I always find myself sucking at dunk contests no matter how much I practice.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12 Should Get Redunkulous (IGN)
you all want 2k to focus only on gameplay but if I remember well you were very excited about the new jordan challenge stuff right? do you think it would be that hard to move 2 (already made) game modes from the useless blacktop mode to the association?Comment

There was some kind of dunk creator in one game cant remember which one but they coul do that for sure and that would improve the dunk contest. they need to bring the 3 point contest in two and even the shooting stars that would be fluff but nice.
TO IMPROVE GREATLY WOULD BE TO SWITCH UP VENUES AND JERSEYS DURING YOUR CAREER SO ITS NOT ALWAYS THE SAME ALL STAR GAMEFor the love not for the checkPSN: Reemo WilliamsComment

Re: NBA 2K12 Should Get Redunkulous (IGN)
I seriously don't understand all the "gameplay first" comments. Would any of you expect a 2K game without Association, Season, NBA Today, My Player and all the other modes that we've come to appreciate? Features are an important part of a video game, and they can work on gameplay realism concomitantly. Realism and game modes aren't two mutually exclusive things, much in the same way that graphics and gameplay aren't mutually exclusive either. Actually, the people in charge of the graphics aren't even the same people who design the gameplay.
Geez, people are acting as if the addition of a simple dunk contest would turn the game into NBA Jam or something. The mode is already there, even, it just needs to be enhanced. They could recycle many animations and just change the way the mode is played.

However, I don't really care for the idea of turning the Dunk Contest into a strategy mode. I physically want to be able to execute sweet contest dunks. I want to do this in an NBA arena, in front of a crowd holding score placards, a judges table, a camera guy hovering behind me for the chase angle, wearing a jersey of my choice (or my warmup jacket), with the ability to recreate nearly every NBA dunk contest dunk in history alongside new, unperformed ideas (between both legs). Further, I want my dunker to have a two-foot takeoff and one-foot takeoff rating, so I can carve out which potential dunks to attempt based on who's dunking (ex: Jason Richardson won't be attempting any free throw line dunks for me). I also want height and length to play a role, so I am rewarded for not attemting to have Brandon Jennings dunk three basketballs at once.
That's all I'm looking for.Last edited by VDusen04; 02-21-2011, 07:18 PM.Comment

"Gameplay first" people are the same ones who will turn around and complain about Madden's lack of features and lame presentation.Comment
