I love the idea, it would definitely add more to association for that bit of time you are in the all star week...but there are much, much more important things that need to be fixed/added before then.

Association drafting/trading AI still needs to be fixed- to keep it short I want to see busts and such in the draft and see a blockbuster trade every once and a while, all the trades are always small and insignificant and sometimes are head scratchers. Maybe also have a chance for a player to "bust" or breakout on a new team in a trade, like Carter busting and Rashard Lewis breaking out.

My Player is frustrating and needs tuning, I want an offline mode so I can use sliders and the way a player just breaks into the starting line up is annoying as well. I want to see the player work up to the starting line up, not get out of the draft, play one game and end up in the starting line up with a 54 overall and dominate.

Then all of the other stuff can be considered in my mind...I would love to see more in the all star break, especially something so different from the usual play; especially if you are playing an 82 game season in assoc.

There are definitely a lot of other things that should be worked on first but if they decide to throw this in there they have to be innovative with it. No button smashing or combinations to pull off dunks. Controls need to feel more natural like they do in the game. Something along the lines of the triggers for L, R, or 2 foot takeoffs with the left stick controlling the body for 180s 360s. Then the right stick controls what you do with the ball using LB and RB as modifiers. I don't know exactly how it would work but controls and scoring are the 2 things they'll need to make it successful.

No, they can't. I can go through my friends list at any given time and see a minimum of 6 people searching for a match, that's right, just searching, not finding. I can see at least 9 that have 99ovrall legit myplayers that are unable to join pickup games because it freezes on "Joining Game". I can see countless stupid animations, warping, and uncapped illegit players on online mode.

They haven't fixed any of these things since last year, I'm guessing they copy+pasted the code, put in patches they didn't release last year, then called it good.

Instead of adding a mode that you're going to use for 10 minutes and never use again, how about we fix the current gameplay? Thanks.

No, they can't. I can go through my friends list at any given time and see a minimum of 6 people searching for a match, that's right, just searching, not finding. Precisely. People don't seem to be aware that there are a multitude of people working on the game at any given time, and that they're spread among many departments. 2KXX isn't some obscure indie game that's produced by some dude in his free time.

noooooooooo. Dumb idea. This is a perfect example of people with their knee jerk reactions, after seeing something. Just stop, focus on the game like you been doing. My player mode still needs work, 5 on 5 can still get better. Graphics can even get better. Because im sorry MLB The Show sets the standards as far as sports games go right now, and its not even close. and im not even a baseball fan like that. So thats saying something. How often are/would you play a dunk contest any way. You should use your resources on what you will be playing and seeing the most.

Which is why i know there is still things wrong with game-play that can be fixed first, like player logic in certain game situations. Like i said before MLB The Show sets the standard... Listen im one that plays 2k11 all day so im not tryna say its terrible "cause its not". But before we start doing things like that, lets focus on basketball games not all star weekend. which they have been doing obviously. So they kinda prove my point. they want to make a complete 5 on 5 sim before all the extra stuff that "children" like you want in a game. Im all for implementing a better All Star Weekend in the game like, 3 pt, Slam Dunk. But i rather all hands be on deck for creating the best 5 on 5 sim that they can, including presentation. Then you can afford to make tweeks to game play and focus more on the extra things. ie yes back to that game again, MLB The Show.

Gameplay and presentation will NEVER be "perfect" on any sports game, on this generation, or maybe ever. It is IMPOSSIBLE to make a game that does exactly everything you see when you watch an actual game. There's way too many variables to consider. Once we get to a certain point, we'll be complaining that birds don't accidentally fly in front of fastballs every once in a while in MLB The Show.

Just because we want fun, interesting features in a VIDEO GAME, that makes us children? Gee, sorry mister, I'll just let you go back to listening to "All Things Considered" and reading your latest Policy Review issue. My apologies, I'm sorry I'm not a serious gamer like you.

the dunk contest needs to be much better. i personally haven't liked the way all star weekend has been represented in the black top mode in 2k for the past 2 years. i love the game, but they need to copy nba live 05 with the all star weekend. They could even include the skills challenge event with the real areans, judges, and more realistic dunks. they should keep the blacktop version as an alternative though, but for sim-heads like me i would like to see all star weekend portrayed as it is in real life.

my player also needs to be tuned a lot. I dont know why but on hall of fame and superstar the cpu shoots and extremely high percentage with players from anywhere on the floor. Also, the amount of POST MOVE SHOTS THE CPU MAKES! this is a huge problem. How often are you playing my player, or any game against the cpu, and they throw the ball into their post player and he does a fadeway off glass or from the baseline? this needs to be fixed immediately. Not every post player is kobe or jordan so they should not be able to pull off these moves and have success with them consistently. Also, fix the post defense. as it is now, we only have the option to contest a shot or go for an (canned-animation) steal while defending in the post. Use a jostling system like fifa or like nba elite tried to implement.

i would like to see 2k put more options into the my player mode such as more than one interview question,more endorsements, even something like a gatorade commerical or something where you try and improve your game over the off season, cause the my player mode can get boring just playing game after game give the players something to look foward or throw a twist in every now and again or even something like in fifa where you can play for the usa team in fiba or the olympics, also i think they should have something where you start in the ncaa tourney or nit tourney and you can earn a better draft status before you compete in the draft combine

I will be honest & say that "My Player" needs to be relinquished for Good. There was no My Player in nba live 05' & That is my 2nd favorite NBA Game ever made.Reason being is because that Game had a complex franchise mode,it had the ability to retire jerseys & had record books,it had the all star weekend with 3 pt & Dunk contest (which were the best i've seen),it had like 100 different Real life sneakers to choose from,& Gameplay for it was'nt bad either,plus it had full customization of Created players & editing. NBA 2k11 is my Favorite basketball game ever made,but My Player is'nt even a Reason why it is,it's a waste of space & by Recycling My Player for next years game gives it more space & time to make Gameplay,Association mode better & more in depth, add a good dunk contest & 3pt shootout to all star weekend,Better Championship celebration,etc.. My Player is trash,it's for people that are tryna create themselves to fullfill a fantasy that will never happen,& that is play in the NBA. I buy an NBA game to play as NBA players not created people,so demolish Myplayer & blacktop,Add "The Real" All star weekend,a more in depth Association & More realistic Crowds plus Gameplay & we got the best bball game ever made.

Bad idea. The dunk contest is a dieing spectacle in the NBA and is just a front for product placement. Why not focus on making My Player mode for 2k12 the best career mode ever. The game itself was fine besides the fact that I rarely saw a charge foul being called and the cpu can read passes way to easily on the hall of fame difficulty setting. If I wanted to buy a game that was redunkulous I would buy NBA jam. So don't improve the dunk contest and focus on other staple game modes and overall gameplay.
