Only downside is that they will have to start from scratch, and not build upon what they already have.

I agree. Hubie Brown is one of my favorites. I'd love to see him in the game.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Hubie Brown definitely needs to stay away from 2K I cannot stand him. He's just soooo Captian Obvious, someone mentioned it earlier he just rambles on and states facts viewers already know.

When the Knicks played the Heat a few weeks ago, they showed a graphic of the Top 5 scorers in the NBA, this is what he said, (and I paraphrase)

"Now you see, we have 4 of the top 5 scorers in the game today playing tonight. You have Amare leading the group with 27, it's not surprise to see Wade and LeBron in the top 5 as well, both average a little under 26, and as we all know Melo did most of his scoring in Denver and he's putting in 26 night in, night out. And obviously Kevin Durant outscores them all at 28 a game. So 4 of the top 5 are here tonight in this building"

It literally took 5 minutes for him to put what I can already see on TV in words. Maybe I'm a little biased because I play AAU basketball and don't see his basketball I.Q. like others do, but I swear I feel he just wastes time by doing that stupid speech thing he does. I hate Hubie Brown with a passion, I'd rather have the 2 clipper guys. And those 2 could be as bad as him.

Weird, but wasn't that big of a fan of Hubie's back in the day, but really enjoy the guy's work during this stint of commentary, He reminds me of Madden a lot in the "older guy that still gets it" way.

Didn't mind Clark, but just seemed out of place hearing his voice for a pro game, especially knowing what 2K is capable of doing with college basketball.

I spoke on Hubie before. He's great commentator but his style wouldnt fit into a video game.

He breaksdown an actual play as it happens. I dont think u can take that sort of play by play observation and apply it to the randomness of how the video game is.

His strength is in detail, not making generic overall comments. Anyone can discuss why player X is a good rebounder or give some backstory. That's not Brown.

There are plenty of times the commentators will be talkin about how team X is playing good defense and then "ohhhhhhh ho-ho!!" cuts in because of an alley oop play. They will say "they look like they practice that all the time dont they Clark.....?" Hubie will continue to talkabout how the defender should have gone under the pick and not allow the bandhandler....blah blah blah. Its cool from a knowledge point of view, but too focused for gameplay....IMO.

The best duos are a straight man(Play by Play) and a larger colorful personality(Phrases and Stories).

Im a big Ian Eagle fan who started w/ The New Jersey Nets.

he does the pacers' games. good move by 2k as this addresses the weakest part of the game IMHO. i can't stand playing with commentary on anymore.

Never knew that. He's just synonymous with college basketball to the point were I take him as a college hoops guy. Either way, I enjoy Kerr's dry witticism so it shouldn't be a huge curve. Would prefer Marv at this point. Nothing wrong with Harlan, just something seemed odd with a great game like NBA 2K11, but the feeling that the B-team was handling calling the game.

Ok.. Why in the HELL won't 2ksports do what they should have done in 2k11? They made a great game this year that had and still has the potential to grow to be the best basketball videogame ever! In NBA 2k11 there are still a few things that should have been in the game to make it the GREATEST BASKETBALL GAME OF ALLTIME! One Thing that screwed the game up is the Commentary, There is no way I would have made 2k11 without Bob costas and Marv Albert.... Don't get me wrong Harlen is good, But Bob Costas would have took the game to another level!!! I know Marv Albert couldn't get away from EA, but I know they could have signed Bob Costas. I love Steve Kerr and Harlan and they should be in the game far as when it comes to the late NBA... But because of them implementing alot of the old legends and old teams into the game There should have been Marv or Bob in the Game! They Need to Add BOB COSTAS period!!!!!

Unless there making it a three man team, i see no reason why 2k would bring kerr in when the games commentary is already amazing. Kerr is a good commentator, but certainly isn't any better than Kellogg, and in terms of video games, starting over with kerr would actually be a step back.

Actually, 2K has better audio than Madden. Madden just refers to players as "He" and not by name.
