I think the demo is short to prevent people from over analyzing the game, especially with the demo being a early build. I just finished listening to the OS radio show and one of the guys made it clear that the final build it a huge leap over the demo and we all will be happy.

Re: NBA 2K12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
First of all, I have to say, 2k12 is an improvement from 2k11, not a big one tho, but I guess thats a good thing because since 2k11 was such a good game, no need to have BIG changes...there are some points I want to make here after trying the demo from PS3:
Pros:
1. I love the post up game, can back down anywhere now, lots of new moves, can't wait to try in practice mode!!!
2. I like the new crossovers, just look way better than the ones in 2k11
3. I think the fast breaks are really a lot better, players don't just stop for no reason
4. I like the offensive rebounding, I can definitely see more realistic number in this category....
Cons:
1. I like the introduction, is something new, but I would rather have the old NBA Live intro where the announcers will call out the names of the starters when the players come out in the dark through their bench players (exactly like the NBA)
2. I don't know why, I feel like the players are sliding a little bit? I don't feel the footsteps when I dribble around?
3. The jabstep is taking too much space, their legs are spreading out too much, a little unrealistic there...
4. I feel like the players are too tall, when Chandler goes for a rebound, his hands look like is near the same level as the rim...
5. The overall LOOK of the game is same as 2k11 to me, nothing changed, the players, not really a big upgrades for me?
6. The speed of the players and the overall game is too fast for me, but thats an easy change, probably need adjust the speed sliders for these two areas...
Final Thoughts of the demo:
This demo does suck a lot, I forgot how the 2k11 one was, but compare it to NHL 12 demo, this is really bad...
1. Quarter time, at least a 5 mins, two quarters game...
2. Allow us to use both teams!
3. Allow us to sub whoever we want!
4. Let us adjust the difficulty, and also the sliders!!!
Finally, WE WILL ALL BUY THE GAME NO MATTER WHAT THE DEMO IS LIKE, I AM SURE, SO WHY NOT JUST GIVE US A MORE DETAILED DEMO!, but whocares, only 2 more weeks, anyways, great job 2k, love the game!Comment

I must say the presentation is top notch never seen any sports game since NFL 2K5. I can't put down the demo been playing it for over 1 hr. Hands down this the best NBA 2K game since the dreamcast NBA 2K2.. and this from just playing a DEMO. Can't wait for the Full Game oct. 4th.. NBA 2K team has over done themselves this year... game of the year for sure!Comment

Re: NBA 2K12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but for those who wished for the tightness the 2k series was known for before last year floaty animations you will still be disappointed.
It's better than last year but not by much.
Knowing 2k server issues it's going to be worst online and you probably won't notice much difference form last year.
If the movement feels the way it feels offline in the demo when you take it online. If they fix the servers. . It would be an improvement. But like I said. Barely.
Right now this demo can not compare at all to the tightness of 2k7, 2k8. 2k9 or 2k10.
Just take a step with your defensive man forward.
You stopped moving the stick but he's still moving forward.
It's no where near in real time. Why am I watching his two feet plant so slowly.
Which means there is no way you can feel like your on the court.
It's just not real. The animations still need to be tightened up.
Hopefully they have tightened it up a little before they release.
It's better than last year but not by much.
Looks like the fanboys are wetting their pants again when it's nowhere near necessary.
Yet every time I read a hands on preview they talk about how great the game feels compared to last year. Even though these same reviewers never made a peep about how bad the animations were last year. Neither did the fanboys. It was funny reading how last year was the greatest even though the animations were the worst the series has seen on the next gen.
I have both systems. I only played it on the 360.
Fyi to take steps on defense you can tap the stick and for more controlled granular movements you hold the left trigger and move. That is where the nuance of the control lies on defense.
Holding the stick in directions unless you feather it will cause you to move to fast to stop immediately. There are actually 2-3 speeds ( if i remember correctly) on the stick alone. If your too heavy handed that could be your issue with not being able to spot unless you really are expecting real-time and I don't believe anyone promised that.Last edited by Da_Czar; 09-20-2011, 10:18 PM.Catch me on that #SimNation #SimHangOut Friday's @ 10:00 pm est https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...N7yxMiElOpMl_BComment

Re: NBA 2K12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I've played quite a few games already today, and one thing I've noticed is that Lebron, Wade, and Bosh seem way too passive on offense. Too many times already I've seen Lebron just pass the ball off to someone at the 3 when he is wide open, or just stand there instead of driving to the rim. I know the default tendencies were a complete and total disaster in 2k11, and honestly didn't work all that well even after changing them yourself. This is a major area of concern for me in 2k12.Comment

What am I doing wrong? I'm trying to get Rudy Fernandez to foul out but he keeps acting like there's an invisible leprechaun on the court somewhere and he keeps trying to catch it for the pot o' gold.
Edit: And something I was hoping for, drives to the hoop that end in layups feel like NBA layups. With all the speed and power of someone like LeBron would have, but he doesn't throw it down. Imagining D. Rose is gonna give me nightmares cuz I almost never play with the Bulls.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Graphics are nice.
The post game already feels like a chore since I have to re-learn some of the most basic go to moves (i.e. drop step)
The A.I. is getting closer to feeling like a human opponent, but doesn't play fluid enough to convince me. Why did LeBron dribble out the clock (15 secs left) when he clearly had a 1 on nothing fast break? Why is Udonis Haslem in iso nearly at the three point line? Why does Wade do so many pointless crossovers?
Single player has never won me over in any sports game. You eventually learn all of the A.I.'s tricks and it's a wrap for it every single game. 2k12 appears to be no different.
Besides that, it is what it is. October 4th was a no brainier anyway.Comment

Just dunked on Joel Anthony with Rudy Fernandez it was a thing of beauty from the way he went up to the contact he made with Anthony before he went down to the ground followed by Rudy steering him down.PSN=Coolcas7Comment
