do they really? that's effin awesome! hahaha, it truly is

see stuff like that is amazing to me because unless you were a Thunder fan, you wouldn't know it but it stands out right away to those who follow their teams

I'm Knicks so I don't know what OKC traditions are/etc so these details/stories being shared is great for me

edit: who knows if OKC and my Knicks meet in the Finals maybe I'll witness it firsthand haha

these truly are legends we're playing as/against
I was doing the Oscar Robertson game and they were talking about how Wilt got 56 rebounds in a single game. That is ridiculous.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Hey Charlie, I remember the thunder standing before the first basket in their home games in the play offs last year, that's when i thought i would check to see what they do and lo and behold they are standing at the start until the home team scores! Amazing..

I guess there are lots more details like this to discover...

Well you also have to realize a couple of factors about the NBA during the 60s and 70s.

                1. The talent level between great players and average players was HUGE back then. It was like men among boys.

                2. Not every team had a tall player back then either. It was rare to see a 7ft NBA player back then. Which is why you had 6'6 PFs and 6'8 Centers on most teams back then.

I mean look at Bill Russell.......He was a 6ft 9 center that dominated the NBA for 13 years and was the best center ever until Wilt came into the league at 7ft 2.

The main reason why Wilt dominated was because he was playing against 6'9 and 6'8 centers for half of his career if not most of his career.

All in all though.......it was just a huge talent gap. Kind of like it is in college now.

Just to add, there were more rebounds to be had back then also because the game was at a faster pace, and players didn't shoot the ball as well back then. I don't even think Bob Cousy shot 40% for his career.

I was playing against my friend and he held the ball with Brandon Roy and out of nowhere I heard

                    "Pass the dang ball!"

I was laughing for a good minute after that

Playing the greatest mode with the Lakers versus Celtics and Kellog references Kareem's line from "Airplane!" saying "Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes."

                      Very cool.

I don't know what it is, but man #8 Kobe is an absolute beast. The way he moves is spot on, it's like I'm watching the real Kobe from back in the day. He may not have the post game he has now, but his layup is still beastly, his jumpshot is excellent, and more than all of that, his dunk rating is 99. I think 2k has replicated old skool Kobe to absolute perfection.

                          I find this REAL neat:

Say a team is down, instead of directly passing it to the person to inbound it, they roll the ball to just about half court. THEN pick it up to start the clock, neat.

I was going up for a fast break dunk with 96 Pippen. As I'm rising for the dunk, Jason Terry goes up with me to challenge the shot from behind, sending Pip face first into ground. I actually cringed at how authentic, yet dangerous that sequence looked. So glad that 2k made challenging dunks a legitimate strategy with 2k12.

Saw a new pre-game intro I've never seen before after hours of playing the Quick Game Matches, was playing against the Lakers and they zoomed in on Kobe who was on the floor stretching and he was making gestures to the camera man/screen during his pre-game stretch!

Awesome, the blimp shot of Staples Centre is incredible! It's real btw! Wish they had that for all stadiums.

They have it for some other stadiums also. I saw it on Washington and Dallas one.
