Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Second game of my Kings Association was a thriller...lost in the 3rd OT at the SA Spurs 102-104...but with a great performance from Terrence Williams (26 pts 7 reb 6 asists) and Tyreke Evans with 23 points...
Anyway the rosters for pc are great with the rookies(thanks to the one who made it)...the rookies leaders are Montejunas from Houston, Biombo from Charlotte and Burks from Utah...
Next game against Terrence Williams former team, and also a clash between two great rookies...Montejunas vs Fredette !
    Now playin':

    Madden 22 with Cleveland Browns
NHL 22 with Las Vegas Golden Knights
NBA 2k22 with Golden State Warriors
    FIFA 22 with FC Barcelona

About to start my 6ers Association Offline. Just a few thoughts before I get it going.

Deffinitely want to dump Brand, thinking about packaging him with Turner to get a good/solid SG or C (maybe just solid at both pos if I'm lucky), and just start Thad at PF. Who should I target?

Really lovin' the Jrue love this year. Thought he was a little underrated for last year's game. Gonna be playin every game on either All-Star or Superstar.

I like moving Brand for a younger PF piece, but I think the Sixers ought to keep AI at the 2 and start Thad at the 3. I'd wait at least another year, making Turner a 6th man, to see where his OVR ends up to decide whether to trade him or use him to replace AI and trade an aging AI for whatever you need.

I'd probably trade Brand for a lower-rated young PF and a 1st round pick, and then, a couple years later, assuming Turner's high potential pans out, trade AI and that 1st round pick or that newer PF for a star PF.

Jrue and Thad will be entering their primes and if you play their development right, you may end up with a Big 3 combo + an 80-something Turner.

I do like your idea. In 2k11 Thad's OVR went up a couple points when you switched him to SF. But leaving a Hawes/Speights/?? frontcourt doesn't seem like much fun to me lol. I just worry about spacing having 2 slashers for wings and Jrue being my only realistic 3pt threat.

Is anyone else having troubles with the online association? I am having difficulty with the connection, I then decided making my own, and no one joined, anyhelp?

Playing as Orlando, just played my 4th game against Philly. Lost 131-126 in OT, and Nelson had a 3-pointer rim out with a few seconds left that surely would have sent the game into 2OT. Dwight kept me in it with 39 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks.

Jrue Holiday went beast mode on me to the tune of 42 points, 12 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. He was 18-21 from FT! I've never seen such a thing in a basketball video game. It was nice though. He kept attacking.

The AI is so much better this year. Defense is difficult.

I flat suck at this game. I started an association with Minnesota in an attempt to build around Love and Williams but am sitting at 1-5 having just lost another close game, this time to New Jersey. I am so inconsistent its ridiculous and Im only playing on Pro difficulty, simulation sliders. Beasley plays well but then Love vanishes, Love plays well and then Williams goes silent, its just really difficult to get anything going on the offensive end of the floor for an entire game. My biggest problem is having absolutely no idea how to get myself open with the dribble so its a lot of post game with a smaller mixture of off dribble scoring and fast breaks. Ive got Milwaukie next and desperately need a win.

Something I do, that I feel helps, is I let the CPU call all the plays for me (since I have no idea what I'm doing with plays). I usually freeball but it can definitely be ineffective. Following the play the CPU wants you to run can open things up for you and make things easier on offense.

On defense, just try to get in the CPU's way. Don't fall for pump fakes; basically, even if you don't jump to contest a shot, if you're standing in their jersey, it'll still hurt their chances of making it, and it's safer than a potential fly by which ruins your defensive set up as your men start pulling off from their own assignments to cover.

Defensively Im ranked 17th in scoring defense so Im doing alright there considering Im Minnesota and all. My problem is on the offensive end, I just cant get any consistency at all, from anyone. Derrick Williams is hot garbage and is about to get traded if he doesnt turn it around and the rest of the team alternates bad games with good games. I just played Milwaukie and after being down by 19 at halftime I clawed my way back to within 6 when all of a sudden **** hit the fan, I would pass to someone and they would start running just as I passed leading the pass into the defender, guys picking off passes on the break, missed layups etc and this is the norm for every game as Im either blown out or I keep it close and then late they suddenly can do no wrong and I can do no right. I eventually lost that game by 13 and am now 1-6 with no prospects of getting out of this slump.

Is there a work around to join an online association after you have left it ( I wanted to switch teams before we did the draft and now I can't rejoin)

Is anyone else's online association working? Mine and several other people that I have spoken to have said that their online association are down. Mine has been down on the ps3 for over 24 hours.

                              To pitfighter:

As for your free agent list, I guess it depends on how accurate you want it to be. Three things that stand out to me on your signings are #1. Wilson Chandler is playing in China this year no matter what the NBA does. #2. the Sonny Weems to the Thunder seems hard for me to buy. That isn't really a position that I think the Thunder will try to fill with him and #3. I don't think the Celtics can afford Jamal Crawford. I think he will demand too much money.

Yeah i thought that to about wilson but didnt want him to rot in free agency. I figured jamal would be tryin to chase a championship and he signed under the mid level. What do you think would be a better fit? As far as sonny i was searchin for a team that needed a role playin sf and the thunder didnt have anyone outside of durant. Where you think he'll go?
