Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Wasn't having fun with the Jazz association so I started a Cavs one. I signed CDR and Lamar Odom. First game was against the Wizards.

I won 99-85 thanks to my 3rd quarter where I out scored the Wizards 31-13 and had a 8 point lead going into the 4th when I was down 15 at one point. Kyrie dominated with 20 points and 6 assists, Lamar had an AMAZING game for me with 18 and 5 boards. Gee(13), CDR(12), and Varejao(11) each scored in double figures. The one problem I had during the game was that both Jamison and Varejao were in fould trouble throught the game, but John Wall was also in foul trouble for them.

    Cavs Wizards
Major team stats: Field goal % 50% 42%
    Turnovers 10 11
    Fouls 17 15
    Steals 10 9
    Blocks 3 7
Points in the paint 62 44
    Bench Points 38 27

Play of the game: Alonzo Gee takes his man off the dribble, goes behind his back then explodes to get a 2 handed dunk directly on Jordan Crawford. As many Youtube commentaters would say CHESTNUTS!

I played the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals last night. Charlotte Bobcats vs. Miami Heat, the Heat were up for most of the first half and then I took the lead in the second half. I ended up taking the first game by 10 points, but it is going to be a tough series. In the Western Conference Finals, it's the Lakers facing the Thunder. The Lakers have gone up 2-0.

In the 2nd game of the year vs the Bobcats, it was a lot like the first game, a horrible 1st half and amazing 2nd half. They had a 9 point lead going into half and were dominating. But in the 2nd half we outscored them 57-34 and came away with the 90-76 win. Kyrie had an amazing game having 24 points, 7 boards, 8 assists and went to the line 10 times. CDR also had a good game with 22 points, 6 boards, and nailed 3 3's. Gee had 16 and 7 rebounds and Jamison had 12 with 6 boards. The Bobcats had us in foul trouble early as well having Thompson and Varejoa with lots of fouls, but we pulled away in the 3rd with great D and amazing shooting by our snipers.

        Cavs/Bobcats
        Score 90-76
        FG % 49(46 3pt)/36(30 3pt)
        Assists 21/10
        Turnovers 12/6
        Rebounds 42/36
        Blocks 9/2
        Steals 4/11
        Fast Break Pts 22/12

Play of the game: Alonzo Gee with another play of the game award with a big lead with 2 minutes left he enters the post the spins off driving to the lane as he does a reverse windmill as Corey Maggette fouls him for an and 1. Next up the 2-0 Cavs play the Phoenix Suns with an intriguing matchup at point with the rookie vs the veteran.

Anyone like this little recap of each game I'm doing? Also can someone give me a realistic trade I should do to get rid of Jamison.

Jamison should go to a contending team, maybe the Celtics? It's up to you where he goes, but for realism, a contending is best. Maybe like Jamison for JaJuan Johnson and Sasha Pavlovic. Something like that.

Is this a 30-team association or no? If not, just use the trade finder ans see if there is a realistic trade in there. Otherwise, find a team that could use a better back-up PF, like the Hawks, and find a deal you like.

                  Suns Win Last Second Thriller

The Cavs lost their first game of the year against the Suns. Each team had a 10 point lead at one point and it ended at the buzzer. The Cavs for the 1st time this year were down by less than 9 at half, actually they were down 1. Kyrie went off in 1st half having 18 points at the end of the 2nd. The Suns had a 15 point lead going into the 4h. The Cavs started their run with 5 minutes left as CDR hit 2 corner 3's and Kyrie hit a 3 aswell. A free-throw line J by Kyrie gave us the 1 point lead with 39 seconds left and the suns came down and hit Hakim Warrick on the baseline and he nailed it. Then the Cavs got the ball to their best player, Kyrie as he drove off of the screen and tried a contact layup that couldn't fall as time expired. Another superb game for Kyrie who had 27 points, 12 assists, and hit 4 3's. Gee had 20, CDR had 16, and Varejao had 11 and 8 boards. For the Suns 6 players scored in double figures with Shannon Brown leading the way with 16 points and 4 3's. Grant Hill still thinks he is 25 years old as he had 13 and 12 boards. We did hold Nash to 13 and 7 though shooting 2-10.

                  Stats Cavs/Suns
                  Fg %(3pt%) 46(47)/45(42)
                  Free throws 13-20(65%)/13-14(92%)
                  Turnovers 4/9
                  Rebounds 31/46
                  O Rebounds 2/8
                  Fouls 10/16
                  Steals 6/4
                  Blocks 2/2
                  Bench Points 8/34

Play of the game: Even with the loss Alonzo Gee gets his 3rd play of the game with a sick finish off of the oop. Kyrie was pushing it on the break as he lobs it up to his right a bad pass behind Gee, but he extends his Left arm all the way back cathces it, and throws it down with the same hand.

Gonna try to trade Jamison to a contender for a pick, might do the same for Varejao, gonna try to take a big man in the draft thinking Sullinger, Thomas Robinson, or Drummond.

                      Started a heat association.

Summed the season to the off season

Traded lebron for num 1 pick
                      Wade for number 2 pick
                      Bosh for number 3 pick
My 2nd rd pick and my 27 ovr 1st rd pick for the number 4 pick
Chalmers and next years 2n for the 5th pick

Drafted Davis kids gilchrist beal Drummond and Kendall Marshall

                      My starting 5 is
                      Marshall
                      Beal
                      Mkg
                      Davis
                      Drummond

Not really but it seems like this is what 50 percent of the association posts I see are like. Everyone trades their team for the 1st 3 picks or so in the draft and starts all rookies lol

I have started my Rockets association over for the 3rd and final time. Lol. My goal is to make this team a contender in the West. Right now we have a long way to go. But with a few missing pieces we can make a run for the title.

Denver left gasping for air as Cavs run them out of their own
                          Stadium

The Cavs left Denver with a W after a 89-78 win. The game wasn't as close as the score suggested as I was messing around the last 4 minutes... ya maybe I was kinda shooting 3's with Simeh Erden, lol. Alonzo Gee was slamming early and often, he had 20 points and 5 steals. It seemed every time Lawson tried passing to Gallinari, Gee would step in front, take it, and throw it down on the break. The Cavs exploded in the 2nd and 3rd quarters outscoring Denver 57-30 in those two quarters. The one guy onDnver who played as if they remembered they were in the NBA was Javale Mcgee, he had 23 points and 17 boards... yes he did have 2 goaltends, but it's Javale Mcgee what else do you expect? Kyrie had yet another fantastic game as he had 17 and 11 with 5 boards, and Tristan Thompson had a nice game with 11 and 7 boards. Odom added 10 points, CDR had 7, and Anthony parker hit 2 3's during our run in the 3rd.

                          Stats: Cavs/Nuggets
                          FG %(3pt %) 50 (25)/46 (8)
                          Free throws (%) 14-22(63%)/ 7-10(70%)
                          Turnovers 9/19
                          Rebounds 36/43
                          Steals 15/5
                          Blocks 8/3
                          Bench Points 29/10
Fast Break 26/13... Told you ran them out of their building
                          Points off turnovers 20/12

Play of the game: Well with all the slams by Gee early on there were some nice ones and Wilson Chandler had a nice poster, it had to go to Danilo Gallinari., Gallo posted up, faced up, and then jab stepped and drove to the lane from the baseline and went CHESTNUTS on Anderson Varejao, Kyrie was also in the poster. After the game I saw Gallo signing who looked like to be the picture for Varejao, as the saying goes, he signed and returned the poster.
Before the game Antwan Jamison was traded to the Indiana Paacers for a first round pick and Leandro Barbosa, Barbosa was later released clearing up cap space for the Cavs. Next up for the Cavs are the New Jersey Nets, or should I say the Brooklyn Nots haha.

Traded Isaiah Austin (Projected #1 pick 2014 IRL) who was 81 rated for Kawhi Leonard, who at this point in my Association (2020) is rated 83.

I did this to clear up the frontcourt and clear some offensive freedom for Anthony Randolph (88), Jabari Parker (86) and Anthony Davis (85). Kawhi Leonard is also efficient, and does so many great things like steal, defend and rebound so scoring isn't his priority, but he still averages 15 PPG.

This has been working great for me this season, as Steph Curry is having one of his best seasons yet at 31 y/o. Kawhi Leonard has been surprisingly good and Jabari Parker is turning into a Paul Pierce Jr. for us. Glad I traded Monta Ellis for his pick! Anthony Randolph and Anthony Davis just cause walking hell in the paint, and I just filled the rest of our roster with role players:

                            Stephen Curry (21 PPG/7 APG/5 RPG)
                            Kawhi Leonard (14 PPG/8 RPG/2 SPG)-LOL, not even kidding he averages 8
                            Jabari Parker (18 PPG/5 RPG/5 APG)
                            Anthony Randolph (19 PPG/9 RPG/3 APG)
                            Anthony Davis (14 PPG/10 RPG/2 BPG)

When do you guys finish your Associations? I'm already in year 2020, and want to keep the save file when I'm done, and start another Association.

After losing 3 games in a row my Rockets are on a 3 game win streak. We are currently 3-3. I would like to get a superstar on my team but I don't know what player that I want. I don't wanna lose Kyle Lowry. I want to build the team around him and/or Kevin Martin.

Traded lebron for num 1 pick
                                Wade for number 2 pick
                                Bosh for number 3 pick
My 2nd rd pick and my 27 ovr 1st rd pick for the number 4 pick
Chalmers and next years 2n for the 5th pick

Drafted Davis kids gilchrist beal Drummond and Kendall Marshall

                                My starting 5 is
                                Marshall
                                Beal
                                Mkg
                                Davis
                                Drummond

Not really but it seems like this is what 50 percent of the association posts I see are like. Everyone trades their team for the 1st 3 picks or so in the draft and starts all rookies lol
Lmao I really thought this was serious at first
