Yes, but I'm a native Detroiter... as long as they are still paying the cap hold, he's on the books and they can amnesty the contract whenever they like. Been a foregone conclusion here on talk radio and from our talk radio guys talking to Dumars that they will use the amnesty on that cap space when it's necessary, it just hasn't been done yet. They have his hold on the books through 2013...

Doesn't matter from a 2k12 perspective anyways as Hamilton is long gone on every roster that matters. One thing I did do after I set all the NBA contracts to correct values in Slimm's rosters was in my own personal set, I took the 2nd year off Rashard Lewis's contract because it is widely assumed that the Wiz are just using him since he can actually still play a bit (obviously nowhere near his ridiculous contract) and will amnesty him after this season ends. I also just removed Dwight's option year completely, as there is no way even if he does stay with the Magic that he doesn't opt out of that contract.

EDIT: Rip Hamilton is on Detroit's books for $8,430,233 and $6,069,767 for 2012 and 2013, respectively, just so we can see that the amnesty will be the smartest thing they can do once they actually can use the money. <- via HoopsWorld

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

So I started a Phoenix Assoc.

I wanted to trade Nash and start the rebuild. I went into trade finder.

I traded Nash and Grant Hill for Thad Young, Lou Williams, Nocioni and '12 1st Rd.

Then I wanted to get rid of some terrible contracts. Warrick and Childress to be exact. I flipped those two to OKC for Cook and Mohammed.

I get to Nash to a team that is now a legit contender with him on it. While getting 2 starters and a pick. Unloading Childress and Warrick I free up cap sapce. My lineup looks like this.

      POS/Player (Min)

PG- Williams (35)/ Telfair (15)/ R. Price (Res.)
      SG- S. Brown (30)/ Redd (15)/ Cook (1)
      SF- Young (35)/ Dudley (25)/ Nocioni (2)
      PF- M.Morris (30)/ Frye (2)
      C- Gortat (35)/ R. Lopez (15)/ Mohammed (Res.)

      My Picks I have... 2 '12 1st Rd (Mine and 76ers) 1 '13 1st Rd (mine) '12 and '13 2nd Rd (both mine)

I'm hoping to land a decent SG and PF or SF I can swing to PF in the draft. Barnes is most likely out since I don't think I will get a top 5 pick. A backup PG is also a target either through FA or draft.

Quick question.. sometimes when I go to resign my players during the FA.. it shows that they accepted my offer but I can't accept it on my side.. why is that?

If it's the screen I'm thinking you just make sure they are highlighted to confirm and then continue... screenshot maybe?

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Well, I had posted an update for my first 4 games of my Detroit association now that all contracts are NBA-correct and Slimm's rosters/settings rule the world on PC... but I guess I didn't hit send.

Anyways, I'm now 2-2, actually beating Miami behind a beastly game by my preseason acquistion Hansbrough, 32 points, 8 boards. Defense held LeBron to 24, and Wade to a mere 12... really played a great game on both ends of the floor.

Brandon Knight is averaging around 9ppg and 5 dimes as the starter, and J.R. Smith has provided some pop off the bench, but needs to shoot a bit better. Tayshaun, Tyler, and Stuck Stuck have been carrying us (to a .500 record early, but still.)

Thunder are off to a 5-0 start, Dallas and Portland both 5-1 out West... Boston is 3-0 and Chicago 2-0 early to lead the way out East...

Durant is leading the league in scoring at 30.5 and Brooks leading Rookies with 16.7, but Kyrie has been a revelation, average 15 and 10 dimes with nearly 4 boards per.

Better update next time, not going through all the formatting again. Thanks for reading, need to get this next game against the Bucks, Bogut is day-to-day, he'd been out with a bruised tailbone, and he's -25 on his OVR, so it looks like one of my favorites from last year in Larry Sanders will start... and then I may just have to try to trade for him after the game... LOVE that guy in 2K.

for those of who wonder why us Knicks users are tearing apart most of the team, now you know. the team is full of round pegs in square holes!

I've gotten rid of Walker, Balkman, Douglas, and Fields so far. I've added Terrico White (nice defensive player/finisher), Jordan Crawford (perfect 6th man who doesn't whine like Douglas does), and Markief Morris in a trade (good to develop and nice bench option).

Small forward depth is still an issue (Julian Wright as backup) as is point guard, tho Bibby and one of my combo guards are good for a little bit while B-Diddy or Shump sit.

I am currently 4th in East.

I don't care how you guys get him, but please find a way to get LeBryan Nash in the '13 draft. Even if he isn't a starter, make him your 6th man at least.

                      The guy is a monster.

I was able to get him in the '13 draft as the Bobcats and I am dominating with him in a game against the Suns: 19 pts, 8 reb, 1 assist, 2 steals, and a block.

He is a great player on the fastbreak and I have posted both Robin Lopez and Kenny Boyton (who he stared down of course ) with him so far. He's also decent in the mid-range as well but I missed my 1 3PT attempt with him. I think he's decent at 3PT shots though.

Started late in my first year of my association with the bucks, i use a rotation with jennings and luke ridnour at 1, evan turner at 2 with delfino and dunleavy as situational players (for when i really need 3s to drop), mbah a moute and tobias harris are perfect complements with 50/50 playing time as is my pfs tyler hansbrough and jon leuer, with bogut and gooden as c's. My strategy is a Free Lance/Swing/Dribble Drive Hybrid offense, with a team that values assists-to ratio, rebounding, and lots of made 3's (since I have a TON of weapons on the perimeter), First offseason, going to draft sullinger to develop into a Dwight howard like player, then draft jordan taylor to replace ridnour, then watch my team progress to a team that has the skillsets of lebron, dirk, dwight, melo, and perhaps develop jennings to a kobe like shooter. Feer the virtual Deer.

I'm starting an association with a created team and fictional players, I will be replacing the Bobcats and I was wondering where I should put the guys from the Bobcats.
