I agree so much with this post. Folks are use to just winning with there eyes closed on default game settings; this game challenges you from the moment you start it up. Complainers just practice and understand it's ok to lose.

A lot of people play NBA 2K12 on HOF or Superstar and get their doors blown off then immediately say it's because the game sucks or because of bugs.

Here's an idea: Put the ego away and learn the game.

There's a new post system. There's a new defensive system. There's new, tougher AI.

If 2K changes the way this game plays, they're doing a HUGE disservice to NBA 2K12.
Couldn't have said it better myself.

Re: Please DON'T turn down gameplay intensity this year

I don't think anyone wants the intensity patched, it's the intelligence of the defensive AI, the magnetism of players on the court, the unresponsiveness of some of the moves, the length of certain animations, and the fluidity of player movement. There is no reason that Danny Granger should leave Kevin Durant open on the perimeter to help a 6'8" 225 lb SF guard Nate Robinson in the post. There is no reason for a player running across the court to come into contact with players 3 feet away from them moving in the opposite direction. There is no reason that no matter how much space you have or how well you input the command that you should not execute you desired move. Some of the animations are too drawn out. I'm pretty sure they could change some of these things without affecting the intensity of the game.

Exactly. Problem is some people are so hell bent on defending anything and everything about this game that they will say ANY flaws or problems(like players leaving their man open for no reason, passing being extremely slow, and ai having eyes in the back of their head) are just a result of people not understanding or just not being good enough. They often try to say things like "this is how real basketball is played". Because obviously NBA players will always just randomly leave their man wide open for no reason at all. And NBA players obviously have to throw slow overhead passes a lot even when they're right by each other.

Right with you brother. I wish 2K Share wasn't broken; I'd love to see what the "real bball" people would have to say to my replay of Pau Gasol taking guys off the dribble and drilling 21 foot fadeaways with 7 seconds left on the shot clock.

Im sick of yall complaining in every thread you can

Stop whining like freaking babies and wait on the patch

The game hasnt been out a week yet and yall are crying like a bunch of women

Ohh 2k i cant believe you, I cant believe i have to think, I cant believe i have to play defense, i cant believe i cant rely on the ai to bail me out anymore, i cant believe yall would stop me from driving in the lane every time

Give me a break, take the time out to use everything the game has provided first, otherwise you're in here as well as other threads making half informed complaints that people are sick of hearing already anyway

Whining about people "whining" about actual problems with the game? Your post is pretty ironic. And i love how your post makes up stuff that nobody even said, nice exaggeration. Proves that you can't make a counter argument for the complaints other than "shut up guyz i love 2k leave them alone" If you don't like what people are saying why not just make a counter argument for some of the complaints we're talking about? Seems like you can't, so just move on and let the big kids talk. Stop acting like such a blind fanboy.

Im not here to argue thats the problem. Im not the one here whining about a videogame.. I started this thread as a counter to the 2k devs about not changing the game like they did last year because of a few crybabies

Oh how late and how off you are.

You're not here to argue because you obviously have nothing to counter argue the problems people are having other than "quit crying". And correct, you're not on here whining about a video game, you're whining over people "whining" over a video game, which makes your post pretty hypocritical and kinda funny. The game is not perfect and there are changes that should be made, it has nothing to do with being a crybaby. It's more like being rational enough to point out a good games flaws(all it will do is help make the game better). Instead of, you know, acting like a blind fanboy and defending everything about the game.

Re: Please DON'T turn down gameplay intensity this year

The game is great. When I started off I kinda agreed with the whiny posters then I noticed the game is just very very precise this year.

You have to be concentrated on D and stay exactly in front of your oponent if you relent for a second you are done. Also on offense you can't just blindly chain ISOs together but have to look at the slightest reactions from the man guarding you and then perform let's say a crossover at the exact spot the crossover needs to be performed to fool him.

Also all of the issues with the defender leaving his man on the 3 open I fixed with tinkering with defensive settings and coach profiles, turn that help D down mates if you have a problem with this.

And don't even get me started on plays, at first they looked so overwhelming but then if you put a bit of time on it they are a thing of great beauty.

That being said the game is realistic and more sim than any other sport game out there. Sadly the casuals will complain the hell out of it and will probably get their own since it's a steep learning curve and they are too "proud" to turn the difficulty on Rookie as they should.

                          Oh and one more thing!

People complain how sport franchises sell the same game over and over without adding anything. But then when they actually have to relearn the game or if 2K changes the slightest thing like the new subbing this year they go into whine mode again that they want it to be just like last year. The subbing for example is much faster and takes less time but people just dont want to relearn it and find it broken.

                          Sigh.

Just played a game between the clips and kings. And i must say it was the most enjoyable game i have ever played. From running post plays with Griffin to shooting a game winning 3 pointer with Gordon. Everything felt so good..I really had to work for every single point...

I loved how the kings started fronting bgriff to deny him the ball

I am a long time player of 2k games , a devoted basketball fanatic, and also a person who stilll at my age plays basketball (figure i'd get that out the way before i get labled a "casual"). You could even call me a "fanboy" anything 2k makes.

Does not change the fact that some of the controls this year seem a little wack to me. On defense the player controls when defending are extremely sensitive when moving left and right defending. Hands up is still very clunky and truly you have a better chance of defending the shot using Y.(try using Hands up R stick against Larry Bird on HOF)

Passing - Last year the passing was PERFECT imo. There was absolutely no reason to change it now it definitely seems slower and almost goofy at times (no im not talking about passes being picked off before you say it and i have ALWAYS used icon passing )

As far as settings i have used pretty much everthing like you said that the give us (Except for sliders i REFUSE to use them). I have played the game pretty much 5 hrs a day since Monday and none of those things still help the 2 main things i think need to be addressed (passing and player movement on defense)

I dont want them to change the difficulty not one bit ...I just want those 2 things addressed.
