For the 22 of you who voted "NO", I'd really like to know your reasoning behind your answer.

Seems pretty damn selfish if you ask me. Then again, I'm not really that surprised.

I voted no because I thought the issue was with people buying the game early. If people did not receive the code from a pre-order then I think that the patch should be released with the two teams for everyone because that is a big screw up. If this is a bunch of people crying that they didn't get the code because they got their games early, then I have no sympathy. It is a "pre-order" bonus not an early release bonus.

I'm kind of pissed off now. I got the code, put it in successfully and the teams downloaded. However, when I got on the next day the teams aren't there anymore.

Maybe you already did this, but I read on the game and from others that you must be sure to save your Settings in order for the teams to stick around. If you definitely did this, my bad, I'm just double checking.

Yeah, like Pezell said, you can re-enter your own code repeatedly (on your own user). I think the settings auto-save after completing a "Greatest" matchup, but not when you enter codes.

That is the issue that 2K did not address. At first it was pre-order exclusive. Then it was changed and announced as an "early release exclusive" (see http://kotaku.com/5834332/bonus-nba-...-retail-copies).

That threw me off, I didn't pre-order because of this. When I saw first shipment I thought it was pointless to pre-order because I knew I was buying this the day of release.

and to people who see it disappear i believe the teams are save to your user profile, no matter what roster you load, if your profile has unlocked them they stay there

Yup, took me a while to figure that out. Goes for NBA's Greatest, too.

Righto. It was a confusing situation. I did not pre-order my game but I still received a code. Conversely, others seemed to buy the game at the same time I did but did not receive the code.

I voted no because the ad says while supplies last. So all stores that are legit and no ebay or mom and pop had limited copies with the code but the employee would not know which copy had the code inside.

Its like an ad for a store that says get a free tshirt while supplies last.

Or the Best Buy in my area having steel cover for Fast Five exclusive to Best buy but when I got there they only had the regular cover. The guy said while supplies last and it was gone early that day.

When you go to game stop they have a huge 2K ad that says get the 2 teams while supplies last.

What 2K should have done is provided a box of the ones with the codes and those should have been sold first or maybe they did but stores just open boxes and put them on shelves

I got my copy from Amazon and they stated on their website to pre order and get the 2 teams which is what I did so that leads me to believe that they got a box or crate of copies which they knew had the games with codes.

If it is while supplies last then I see no reason to get all crazy. I got an extra larry bird copy that I have not opened and will try and give it away on OS via a tournament but I cannot figure a way to do it and no include people that have it already.

If you look around there are many who have uploaded settings which have the teams unlocked so this is really not even a big deal

i bought my copy 12 hours after release and didnt preorder and got the codes still, you just had to be patient and wait till the official release really.

Are you sure? Where are those setting files available? I've looked everywhere including 2kshare. I'm on PS3 and PAL version.

I used my code and manually saved the settings but the teams still disappeared (along with some of my unlocked classic teams) when I went into the Greatest Mode.

I haven't tried the code again, but I'm sure it will work. Still annoying.

Also try saving your rosters and your profile along w/ your settings...That's what I did and it worked...
