For me, it doesn't matter how isolated and easily fixable the problems are, the fact that these issues which are so easily detectable are even in the game suggests a neglect of QA. As a game company, there's really no excuse for letting something that through, and you have to keep them accountable for that.

One thing I think people have to understand is that for all the hate people can throw out, everyone wants a good basketball game. I dislike the brown-nosers, because ultimately they're not helping develop that goal. If there are legitimate complaints (and I agree, not all complaints will be legit), they should be brought into the spotlight and they should be discussed. It's why the whole snarky, condescending attitude towards EA bugs me. I don't give a damn who makes my basketball game, I just want the best one there can be.
Very well said. Because otherwise, when push comes to shove, assuming it doesn't already exist, producers will develop a cynical attitude towards the consumer. It turns into a "let's just make it good enough to sell" instead of "let's make it better." Like any corporation, they will cut costs wherever they can, so you can't let them off the hook when it comes to proper testing.

This game exposed the true sim from the pretenders, the people who understand that the game of basketball is all about preparation and making adjustment on the fly, not saying the game is perfect matter of fact is can be frustrating at time ie online, passing, three point success, trade logic, but people have been asking for more control over the game and 2k gave it to them and most have decided not to use those devices.

Another straw man argument though. No one is complaining about the game being too sim. They are commenting on all the same things you listed as problems (online, passing, 3PT shooting, trade logic). All issues which contribute to making the game less sim.

Some of the problems have easy fixes and some are totally out of our control. People are looking to exchange information on these forums to determine whether it's only happening to them and whether someone has a fix or workaround. If nothing else, the developers may realize a widespread problem based on what they read here, test to confirm it, and eventually correct it.

I'd like to say while issues can be acknowledged, there are alot of people who are not interested in exchanging information..they come here just to complain

I can point someone out in this thread that has said the exact same things in at least 3 other threads already

There is a bugs/glitches sticky that the devs read...coming in here with OMGZZZ!!!! Im going back to 2k11, it was perfect.. what does that accomplish?

Ill tell you, from watching what happens for years at a time, nothing at all..once again there is a way to present your information, have a discussion... and once you do that correctly, there is no reason to continue to come here posting the same things over and over and over again... at some point it becomes trolling (for some)

An older version hailed as the "best basketball game ever"? Just stop that. The product is supposed to improve every year. With this one, the good may outweigh the bad, and that's debatable, but it doesn't mean that the problems aren't there.
Most people thought given the great game 2K11 is/was, that 2K would have a hard time topping it. By most accounts they did. Many people that don't like the game say it's great "if you play offline". Of course it's never going to be flawless - but by most accounts 2K managed to improve noticeably on already great 2K11 gameplay, which is saying something. The good FAR outweighs the bad, so not sure why you're trying to say it's supposed to be better, then insinuate "it's debateable". Imo it's a death-by-paper-cut situation, where every little issue is made major. I don't think I've ever been in a forum where someone actually made a thread complaining about the startup song of all things. And can't count the number of times someone creates a thread saying something is broken, in CAPS no less, only to find out they didn't know what they were doing. Or they create a thread saying something's broken, yet they're asking a question.

Not saying people don't have legitimate concerns, it's just that a lot of stuff is borderline in terms of how much it impacts the overall experience. I'd argue there's no game that gives the level of control that 2K12 (and for that matter 2K11) does to being able to replicate what can be done on the court in the game. There's no sports game that comes to mind that even comes close. Add to that all of this is customizable, is individualized with signature style, etc. it's a lot going on from a programming perspective. Some of the complaining is legit. Some is from people that simply haven't taken time to learn what's new. Faulting 2K for changing some things when that's just what many were asking for. There were many "it looks like 2K11.5" posts out there before it released.

No one's saying they're not legit. I'm looking at the game as a whole though. Many people are just "I'm only concerned with [My Player or Online]". No game can be everything to everyone so I expect complaints. But some of the complaining is ridiculous. Don't know what the whole "no faith" in a product is about, but this isn't taking a shirt or some pants back to Macys and getting a full refund. I'd think an intelligent consumer would do a little more research before putting money down on something he's going to lose 60-70% of the value of if there's a risk of not liking the product long term.

Then to see someone go so far as to say they'll re-buy it when it's cheaper lol - that's just trying to make a petty dig at the game. It's petty, silly and there's no way you can make justification for it.

Another reason is that 2k11 tactics aren't working and they want them to. The game isn't perfect the passing is still terrible, and there are some physic defense moments, and the collision and ball physics is iffy . To me people are frustrated because old stuff doesn't work and everybody on here isn't a sim player and try to come off as such, but complain about things a cheesier would complain about. The game isn't perfect and I think a patch is needed for some things but the game is by far better than 2k11.
this was probably the most accurate post ive seen on these boards in a longgggggg time!

I play My Player and made it clear I won't play until the NBA Lock Out is over and rookies updated to the rosters. The non-adjustable sliders are a very legit beef in My Play, all we can do is hope it gets addressed.

My problem with this game are the online issues because i had recently bought the game and when i tried to make my 2K account, it wont let me saying the servers are down or something like that. also, when i try to enter the code for the Run TMC warriors team and 2002 kings, it doesnt unlock for me They shouldve kept the lobbies like what they did in 2k11.

"Hate/r" has to be the most overused and improperly defined word in the history of the language. Its become a blanket for describing any kind of disagreement.
