So would you guys suggest this player vs player as well or is this only cpu vs player? I play more games with my friends than against the cpu

It comes out of the box set on Pro Default, a level on which most of us can destroy the cpu, hence proving that we can, in fact, play basketball.Comment

Medication is for people who can't handle being sick and need an unfair advantage over illness and disease.
Salt and pepper are just crutches for people who have taste buds that like seasoning (aka unfair advantage) over the drab cooking that lurks in every kitchen.
Paint is for people who can't handle the luster of sheetrock and need an unfair advantage in having brilliant colors in their home.
Four wheel drive is for people who can't handle winter driving without the unfair advantage of added safety.
All of the above are equally as dumb as what you said. Think about that.Comment

Re: For a realistic gameplay experience, try Pro/Default Slider settings
I have to admit, switching it to Pro and playing on default sliders has been the most enjoyable, sim experience I have had in a while on 2K. I can't say enough how much better the game played this way vs. the cpu. Unbelievable how much better the stats come out and the players play the way they should. If you are playing the game in a true sim fashion, this is definately the way to go in my opinion. These are my opinions based off of my perspective. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but if you disagree, we can still agree to disagree agreeably and not fight about it.Comment

IMO stars play more like themselves on allstar. The computer plays stupid on pro.At the same time the cpu is sometimes super cheesy on allstar. I wish their was a balance#1 Laker fan

Re: For a realistic gameplay experience, try Pro/Default Slider settings
I've said earlier that I bumped the Look for Post Player slider up to 80 but that was a mistake. It seems that there are more passes to low post players when it is at default, 50, instead.
Another change I suggest you should make for the game to play much better is raising all the team's Run Plays to 100 under the Coach's Profile. CPU Stars will play like stars since the amount of plays run for each player will depend on the Touch's Tendency in the Player Edit (Freelance) screen. Usually Stars will have their Touch's Tendency higher than their average teammates but just make sure it is before you start the game with the Run Plays at 100.2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Re: For a realistic gameplay experience, try Pro/Default Slider settings
Alright getting a little fed up when playing on Pro/Default now. Playing New Orleans, I'm trying to get D.West play more dominant against me (scoring-wise) which I am having no success on Pro/Default. Edited his tendencies and everything you can think of to make him score more but with no success. Bumped the gameplay up to All-Star and seeing more ball movement by the cpu team and D.West getting alot more plays run thru him now.
The problem on Pro/Default was that the shooters would often shoot 3s instead of passing the ball down to the post after they curl on Pro . On All-star/Default there seem to be alot more ball movement which results in the cpu being more patient once they have the ball and making more passes down to the low post now.2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Re: CPU vs CPU Is Beautiful On Pro/Default
i usually play nba 2k on hall of fame, but with all of my user attributes cranked to 100 with the exception of vertical, blocking and stealing left at default. kinda crazy yeah i know, but i find it fun.
anyway, i just tried pro/default and i really enjoyed myself. realistic gameplay like people have been saying, but i totally shut out the vintage warriors with the 96 bulls. is that realistic?
i set all of my rosters so all starters get 48 minutes with fatigue off. i just like it that way - **** the bench, haha.Comment

Re: For a realistic gameplay experience, try Pro/Default Slider settings
I've been switching back and forth between Pro, Allstar, and Superstar. Pro seems less annoying because a big factor this year in adding to the difficulty is the rubber banding, meaning the computer would shoot better and you shoot worse for an extended period of time or vice versa. It has been there in years past, but it is very noticeable this year. Those times when you miss like four jumpers in a row, and could've sworn you shot some of them right? You probably did.
The reason is this: past years have been too easy. How many of use could blow out the other team on Hall of Fame in 2k11 or 2k10? I certainly could, and I'm betting most who've played 2k for years could, too. So this year the rubber banding was emphasized to keep games close, along with the usual computer playing better and your guys playing worse.
Pro is less annoying to me because the rubberbanding either isn't there or is barely there. When the cpu scores, its more like "well played" than "that's cheap". For 2k13 and beyond, it would be great if the difficulty was ramped up because the cpu is playing that much better, and not so much based on rubber banding or dumbing down your teammates. Teams go on runs in real life, and maybe they were trying to emulate that, but it feels very artificial this year. I wouldn't want them to think of rubber banding as the key to adding difficulty in future iterations.Last edited by Slava Medvadenko; 11-10-2011, 04:19 PM.Comment
