    It has <EVERYTHING> to do with the "momentum" on passes. If a player is moving at the EXACT moment the user presses the pass button, the receiver continues with his motion, hence "momentum."

    Passes have two animations - passer and receiver. The receiver has momentum this year. This was done to solve the complaints about people stopping on a fastbreak from last year and it screwed up the basic drive and kick game this year. Your teammates follow you in to the paint, especially if you try to make a pass baseline to the weakside corner.

    It's something that can be fixed in a patch. Fingers crossed that it doesn't screw up fastbreaks though and they can separate the problem.

    According to the title yes, but the first paragraph of the OP touched on the issue on a wider scope than simply going towards the rim.

    So you see it is a topic of discussion and that example was appropriate.

    And you continue to speak of movement and momentum being the issue when the problem at hand is that the "receiver" shouldn't be moving at all in the complained about situations.

    The fact that a "receiver" continues moving in the direction they were going is an improvement in the passing game in my opinion. For too many years players were able to stop on a dime and pass at any time with out consequence.

    But getting back on topic. Open, stationary players who can shoot should not be cutting.

      Over your head. Again - it's part of the solution to the "broken" fastbreaks last year. One fix hurt something else - it's why Czar is always pleading with you guys to understand the universal concepts being discussed here.

      Doesn't matter - not interested in arguing with someone when I'm trying to explain the issue and they're just interested in arguing.

        I get this animation too from the reciever when he is open on the 3 point line. He backs away to recieve the pass rendering it useless since he's way beyond the 3 line. I'm used to that because it's been happening since 2k10.

                  From Chicago, diehard Bulls fan, only team I use in 2k and basically the only reason I bought the game so nice try, how bout adding to the topic at hand.

                  I can bet all the money in the world that once three pointers are patched you will barely see the Bulls again... I don't even put Korver in the game bc of that.

                        2k10 had almost everything right. The players didn't move EVERY TIME you passed the ball to them, its just that shooters stood to far from the 3pt line. I thought it would easily be fixed for 2k11, but instead THEY INCORPORATE A STEPBACK ANIMATION EVERY TIME YOU CATCH THE BALL NEAR/AT THE THREE POINT LINE. They then make lead passing out of control making your players move everytime you use the directional buttons to aim a pass at someone. So freakin annoying

                            Debate = deliberation; consideration.

                            I take the latter to a bit more formal and respectable with opposing opinions. Id like to think, considering I rebutted him with reason, what i did falls into that category.

                              It has <everything> to do with the "momentum" on passes. If a player is moving at the EXACT moment the user presses the pass button, the receiver continues with his motion, hence "momentum."

                              Passes have two animations - passer and receiver. The receiver has momentum this year. This was done to solve the complaints about people stopping on a fastbreak from last year and it screwed up the basic drive and kick game this year. Your teammates follow you in to the paint, especially if you try to make a pass baseline to the weakside corner.

                              It's something that can be fixed in a patch. Fingers crossed that it doesn't screw up fastbreaks though and they can separate the problem.
                              The more I see it in-game the more this makes sense. I hope it's not one or the other though, because the receiver's movement on fast breaks is working well. The passes are crap, but that's another thread.

                              "Jesus" did make an interesting point earlier in the thread that the offensive player off-the-ball doesn't necessarily know that he's open. It doesn't even register that he's cutting into a crowd, he just does it. Like guys setting screens out in space where nothing is happening. Or players not coming to relieve pressure when your dribble stops. I don't know if these are all symptoms of the same thing. That none of the guys on the court are fully "aware" of each other in relation to themselves.
