Unless you're an idiot, or your throwing the game you would choose a. Anybody with half an intellect would. 2k should have just applied new rosters, soundtracks, legends, and tweak a a few issues with 2k11's format and everything would have been great. I can't believe how much of a step back 2k took with gameplay. If it ain't broke, Why fix it? SMH.
They added alot of things in this dev cycle. Everybody knows that sometimes, when somethings is added, other things may break. That's just a fact of life in the videogame industry (especially sports). So give them time to fix the current problems before full judgement. Hell, at least they listen to the gamers input (other companies don't give a damn).

Also if they just tweaked all the stuff in 2K11, most ppl would just whine and call it 2K11.5. Alot of ppl need to go back and listen to the complaints of 2k11 when it came out. At least the had a NBA season to adjust the rosters with. 2K12 don't.

I know everyone has their own opinion, but if ppl hate this game so much, why torture yourself and play it? Go play Call of Duty or something else.
Boy this habit is as bad as dope!!!

The 2 things that are ruining the 2k12 experience for me.
          [I only play the cpu.]

          1. the lack of double team logic on hot players and post players.
This has been great for the last few years of 2k. now its non existent. Knowing I can just go to a dominant post player and back down without any double team to force the ball out of my hands. or go to a scorer over and over again and not have the cpu adjust and force the ball out of his hands. I cant handle that.

          2. The ridiculous up fakes, pump fakes, and fancy footwork that every cpu controlled player utilizes when scoring inside.
Every cpu player plays like Hakeem Olajuwan under the hoop.
The cpu fakes shots EVERY TIME. and even if you know its coming, due to the fancy footwork animations you nearly always lose defensive position and are helpless as Derek fisher pulls off a dream shake after driving the lane. PFFFFT!

I only play the cpu, and the pump faking in 12 is very evident and over-used IMO. Played on HOF sim in 2K11 and I cant recall so many spin fakes and pump fakes.

Thats the thing. People complained so much about the auto animations that 2K had no choice but to fix it. I'm actually more fond of 2K12's lack of contact animations than it was in 2K11. In 2k11, the animations tied into the rubberband AI which was frustrating to say the least. Nothing like being forced into a layup animation because of the position of the players on the court. At least with 2K12, the lack of contact makes me feel slightly responsible for the outcome. Meaning, my stick skills count more.

I hope 2k brings that mentality back for 2k13, get these bums in practice mode instead of relying on constant runners and stepbacks
Good point, you should bring this up more often.

I put in Choops 2k8 and I'm still seeing new animations.

Same goes for NBA 2K7. So many animations in there basketball series period.

Hell, believe it or not, I just saw an animation I had never seen in NBA 2k5

I cant complain about the pump fakes from the cpu. Speaking for myself, I'm a habitual pump faker so its actually refreshing to see the cpu use the same tactics I like to use. I probably pump fake once just about everytime a shooter gets his hand on the ball. Just because you never know. The cpu is much better at not falling for the pump fake like last year.

Same here. I had no issue with them at all. My issue was the warping that would occur to make them happen.

What is in place now rarely looks realistic and to an extent demeans positioning. In 2k11, if i went into a stationary defender id get stalemated by a believable contact animation. In 2k12, the only time that happens is when they do that one handed shot and the defender keeps his arms up.

You can have great positioning, but if a person does an up and under its negated or they plow into you and its never a charge.

Another issue is i can have a clear lane to the basket, someone touches my shoe, and i damn near do a cart-wheel...with no foul. yet the "step through" consistently draw fouls. Its disproportionate.

2k11 was a healthy mix of both "cannimation" and this "organic" representation of contact.

People who like 2K11 over 2K12 are more casual/arcade players who rather have quicker reaction/response over more realistic less responsive controls and more realistic animations. You like to blow past defenders everytime hop step or spin and dunk on everybody. You probably play wild and out of control on offense and defense.

True sim players will appreciate 2K12 and its greatness. 2K12 is way more realistic than 2K11, even before the patch.

I agree with this post. 2K11 is much better game than 2k12. The players are more controllable. For instance, if we want to do in and out dribble, we can do it in 2k11 but in 2k12, the player performs some extra ****ty cross over animation. Everytime I play 2k12, it irritates me so I've never played the game since last week. The only thing 2k12 tops 2k11 is the post up moves and that's about it.

Oh please...spare us the psychobabble baloney. I play 2K11 ALL THE TIME, and I'm a total simulation player who truly loves 2K11. You feel like you have full control of your player whereas in 2k12 they take soooo many little steps for the simplest of moves...it's just all so sloppy and slow. 2k11 may arguably be less realistic (though I don't think so), but overall it's so much better than 2k12. I needed to rant after 2 hours of the most frustrating 2k12 gameplay, so there it is.
Man, do I ever agree with this. I really tried to like 12 but it's just not the game 11 is. 12 is just flat out a bad game no matter how much people try to cover up for it. Bottom line is 2k got caught up in their own hype and made a crappy game. Hopefully 13 will be better.
