Re: Played some 2k11 today...
I felt the same this week, until, after nearly a month of tweaking and finally ignoring my pride, I turned down the difficulty to pro and customized the sliders - 2k12, for me now, plays like a dream.
Still miss many things from 2k11, but I think i've finally put last years game to rest. I'm sure i'll still get frustrated with 2k12 here and there, but if last night's 3/4 hour session was anything to go by, I think i'm actually going to love playing this game until the next installment.
(Will love it even more if 2K can patch the legends arena sounds and make them audible when playing unlocked teams!!)-----------------------------------------

Re: Played some 2k11 today...
People who like 2K11 over 2K12 are more casual/arcade players who rather have quicker reaction/response over more realistic less responsive controls and more realistic animations. You like to blow past defenders everytime hop step or spin and dunk on everybody. You probably play wild and out of control on offense and defense.
True sim players will appreciate 2K12 and its greatness. 2K12 is way more realistic than 2K11, even before the patch.Comment

Re: Played some 2k11 today...
2K11 is a great game. I don't know why people felt the need to put it down once 2K12 was released, but I think that's part of the justification for buying a new game, it HAS to be better than last year, because last year is in the past and what we have now is the present.
Look, I've played both games recently and enjoyed both. 2K12 does some really nice things on the court, in terms of playcalling, floor spacing (some don't like it but I think it's improved a lot since 2K10) and the CPU being a real legit threat, even on default difficulties.
2K11, though, is nothing to scoff at. You have more control over your player than 2K12, especially on the defensive end. The playcalling is solid and the CPU, with the right slider tweaks, is just as tough as they are in 2K12.
To me, there's plenty of room for BOTH games in your library if you are a basketball fan. 2K11, especially if you are a 360 owner, is a must have, just so you can download 2 decades worth of classic roster sets. 2K12 may have shipped with more classic teams than 2K11, but the inability to edit those generic players is a real damper, and that's why 2K11 is getting more run from me at the moment. Obviously, the Lockout is also a reason why 2K11 is being played more than 2K12.Currently Playing:

LMAO!

Re: Played some 2k11 today...
I'm happy playing both games. if I had to pick one i'd pick 2k11 because of portlandblazer's rosters.
But paul pierce's roster with his sliders make 2k12 very enjoyable for me.
It's been over a year and I can't find a slider set that I really enjoy for 2k11. everything available makes the game feel slow and has too much bumping. I'm going to try to plug in truth's 2k12 sliders for 2k11 and hope that works out.Comment

Re: Played some 2k11 today...
I can't mess wit 2K11. It was great but im enjoying the challenge of 2K12. The ai is better ( they actually attack you), plays are better, animations are better, D is tougher to play, where as in 2K11 on the ball D was TOO easy.
Once they patch up some of the weak spots in this game( comeback ai, blocking, tone the 3 shooting somemore, rebounding etc..) This game will be a gem. It took a few patches for 2K11 to be the game it is. Before the first patch people was complaing like always so i wouldn't expect any different with this game.Comment

Re: Played some 2k11 today...
lately I just find myself scrolling through and editing classic rosters on 2k11, but when I want to actually play basketball I play 2k12 and use truth's sliders bc they make the game a lot more funLast edited by GaryT531; 11-16-2011, 03:21 PM.Comment

Re: Played some 2k11 today...
the super star sliders / settings i've done are better than the all-star. I know they may not be for everyone, but i've opened up the spacing and the bumping is toned down. i've tested them on multiple roster sets, and they play about as good as any set i've ever used in my life of basketball video games.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: Played some 2k11 today...
2k11 will always be special to me because it brought me back to videogame basketball after almost 3 years. But IMO 2k12 is a better game, and I could only see that AFTER I STOPPED PLAYING 2K11. I had to get out of the habits of lead passing, spamming Turbo, and actually playing smart in the post. I understand that not everybody feels this way but 2k12 has made me a smarter more patient player. I do think the signature shots were better in 2k11 tho, it just doesn't seem to be that big a difference between shot releases this year until u get to the freethrow line.Comment
