It depends on what type of game you're looking for. If you like 2k11 I imagine you'd probably like 2k12 as well, especially if you're more of an online player.

However, if you're after a simulation basketball game (online or off), don't buy it. 2k12 isn't it, but if you ask me neither was 2k11 so it's all preference I guess..

Thanks. I think for now I will stick with 2k11. I really don't play online much anymore with sports games and I really enjoy 2k11. I am kind of a simulation guy with my sports games. But at the same time I understand there is no perfect game. I see there are people on this thread that take that to another level. I think that the double team problem would be hard to overlook. As 2k11 did it so well. The stats problem in Association would bother me, but definitely not be a game breaker. I think I will get this in the future if another patch is fixed that fixes the important things that allow the game to be more playable. I think that some people are having a hard time drawing the line on issues that need to be fixed and the issues they want fixed. I believe it should be worth it when it takes a price drop.

My only real major issue with the CPU is that they still take way to long to get a shot off. Unless they get the fastbreak, they run a set play and end up heaving a long shot with 2 seconds left way to often. There is no secondary break or free-styling off a set play at all.

It is just to predictable, which I find wasn't the case last year as I played 3 years of offline association. This year I have been playing way more online though as I think that is MUCH improved.

Basically.....2K11 for offline, 2K12 for online is were I am at...

Did they update the schedule in this game to include the 66 game season, or is the only option the regular 82 games?

I'm basically surprised that 2k still hasn't fixed the A.I. not double teaming problem, which makes the whole game broken.

What I can't believe is people not complaining enough about this problem. It's unbelievable that in this day and age we have a bball game with NO double team.

It's a 2k disgrace.

If you could get a double team one someone everytime im sure every coach in the NBA would be telling there players to double team someone on every play.

My point exactly. I can't understand why some scream for realism/sim and then when it happens they scream its broken. Maybe it is broken for some but for what I call sim/realism its just fine for me.

Help "D" is what I see more times than not in the NBA and 2K has done a good job IMO again I repeat IMO of what I see. Some will disagree with what they see and that's cool.

Seems like things are getting tweaked, not sure how but the game plays different than say a week ago for me.

Take a dominant post player and back down...back down...spin towards the basket.......it's a basket 90% of the time.

The Help D comes away from the basket.

A double team should prevent this.......but there are none in the post.

Game killer if you have a dominant post player. Absolute game killer.

Really surprised Beluba and co. have let this slip / seem to not care.

So is the CPU not trading with one another in 30 team associations (with trades on CPU assist) a new thing since the patch or has it always been like that?

Three months after the release, after the lockout has ended and the holiday chaos has passed - I FINALLY have a chance to get to know 2K12.

Tomba's kit makes the game damn nice off the bat, easily an improvement over 2K11. Nice to see that defense has returned to the series and that you can't drop 60 every night with Melo, LeBron, Kobe, etc.

And a new 55" 1080p plasma + Press camera = heaven. This game looks stunning, especially with all the accessory edits from Tomba & Co.

Time to start putting some major time into this game.

Glad to see you still around, ehh. I, too, have really grown to enjoy 2K12 the past week, and that's just been from playing NBA Today games and with the 90's roster set. I had Tomba's 12/23 roster, but am waiting for the next version before I start an Association.

I still spend a good deal of time in Practice Mode, trying to memorize all the Isomotion and post moves.

If you have a good post player you can score 60 every game because the AI doesn't double team or play proper help D.

So yeah, nice return to a broken state.

Yes you can. If you really wanted to and are skilled enough with said player. you could score 100 a night.
Simply post them up or iso them on one side of the court and work you way into the post, back down. score. you will NEVER be doubled.
I scored all 54pts for the Lakers in one half using only Shaq to shoot. Not once did the cpu adjust to my tactic.
you can own with MJ, Kobe, Melo in the post. repeatedly without the cpu countering, without penalty.

I dont see how anyone can think this is a non issue.

Watch some NBA games. just have a look at how many times a D will trap a player when they are in the post backing down or about to make a move in an ISO mismatch.

In NBA 2k12, this fundamental basketball principle is non existant.
