Next, in free agency go to Qualifying offers and don't offer anyone a qualifying offer or all the RFA will sign the QO when you simulate past free agency. Then sim past free agency as your only able to sign players for 13 teams. Also, for certain players there's going to be multiple suitors and may be hard to chose where he would go. So in this instance, I would go to random.org, assign each team a number and whatever number you get is where that player signs.
I'm confused (as usual). When you say, "Go to Qualifying offers an don't offer anyone QO" isn't that the default? So all RFA's that are given a QO will automatically sign it? What happens if a team has less than 12 guys when you sim past the FA period? When you're saying is that you just assign players the contracts you predetermined and sign them during training camp

I kind of like the idea of using some AI especially for the players individual decisions. Like, if I offer an extension and he says no, I think that makes it more interesting (even if annoying). I'm kind of hoping that they do that during the Training Camp signing period. Like, if I assigned D-Will to the Lakers, he turns them down and I have to try his next suitor. But I'm sure that's not how it works.

      Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion

For grins, I just simmed a quickie 14 game season just so I could go through the motions of a season and off season. HOLY GOD there's a lot to manage.

      1. I may have to turn injuries off because that's a lot of notifications coming up.

      2. Can someone give me a primer on how the cap and Bird rights work? I tried to sign Billups to an extension and it told me he didn't have enough Bird years for me to offer that contract and I'd have to hope he'd sign for the MLE during the FA period. I have no idea what that means.

      3. I kind of like that you can only talk extension with guys who are ready and willing to sign. Makes things easier on me.

      4. The free agency is so clunky. I've been staring at it for 15 minutes and still can't figure out how to find the available free agents. UPDATE: Figured it out. Wow, that's stupid. You really do have to turn off all QO's and the plan free agency offline and on paper. It makes me wish there was a 3rd party Free Agent simulator like ESPN's trade machine where you can input team financials and a list of available free agents, make offers and let the software do the work. Any programmers out there?

      5. I have no idea how I'm going to keep this all straight. I may just be playing My Player mode until 2k fixes this system cause it's a steaming pile of BS.

        TRADE IDEAS PLEASE

I'm rolling with a 30-team control association from the viewpoint of the Celtics. However, once it gets closer to the trade deadline, I am wanting to try and get Deron Williams and Dwight Howard on the same team.... preferably in Orlando, but wouldn't mind New Jersey either. I obviously want to make it as realistic as possible, but was just wondering if anyone had any ideas. Everyone is on the table in Orlando except D12, of course.

The most realistic one I could come up with on my own is:

        Magic Trade:
        PG Jameer Nelson
        PF Ryan Anderson
        PF Glen Davis
        SG Von Wafer
        '12 1st Round Draft Pick
        '13 1st Round Draft Pick

        Nets Trade:
        PG Deron Williams
        C Johan Petro
        PF Shelden Williams
        SG Sundiata Gaines

(the two 1st's would be traded in a separate trade for Larry Owens, who would then be cut)

Now, I still don't think this trade is that great, but it's the best I could come up with quickly and not involving a 3rd team. I'm way too tired to try and figure all that out lol. Anyway, considering D Will came right out and said he won't resign unless they can get D12, The Nets maybe just look to get whatever they can for him. they get Jameer Nelson whom they can keep or his 7.8 mil comes off the books next year, young good PF in Ryan Anderson and Glen Davis, and 2 first round draft picks. In return, the Magic takes on the bad contract of Johan Petro.

I'm sure there are much better deals to be made, especially if someone could get a 3rd team involved. Any ideas, guys?

Figured I'd post a link to my OKC association in the dynasty, not to to promote it but to give anyone who wants to know what kind of results/experience you'll get with B.Eds roster. I am currently using True Gamers sliders with a couple minor tweeks to lower the amount of fouls(1st game vs. LAL I went I shot 42 free throws because the CPU was constantly reaching and getting called for a foul, putting me in the bonus quickly and sending me to the line way too much. Other than that they are great.)

You could probably trade wallace and felton for a good PG.

Ok what do you guys think of this trade?

Celtics Trade: Kevin Garnett, Chris Wilcox, Jermaine O'Neal, 2012 2nd Round Pick
Pistons Trade: Rodney Stuckey, Ben Gordon, Jason Maxiell, Will Bynum
Nets Trade: Mehmet Okur, Anthony Morrow, DeShawn Stevenson, 2012 2nd Round Pick

Celtics Get: Rodney Stuckey, Jason Maxiell, Mehmet Okur, Nets 2nd Round Pick

Nets Get: Ben Gordon, Jermaine O'Neal, Will Bynum, Celtics 2nd Round Pick

                      Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion

                      My logic:
Celtics get rid of Garnett, get 2 solid young players in Stuckey and Maxiell. They also get an expiring $10 mil contract in Okur.

Pistons can start over and rebuild with Knight and Monroe. They get rid of Ben Gordon's contract. Get KG's expiring $21 mil contract. Get some solid backourt players in Stevenson and Morrow

Nets can go into full rebuilding mode(they lost out on D12 in my association). They can offer DWill a HUGE contract or wait and trade for some pieces, now that they are more flexible. They can now look to the future(or at least until Ben Gordon expires).

Ok I'm planning on giving this 30 team association control a try mainly since ******** CPU trading ruins it otherwise (for me anyways). Just curious as to what all am I going to need to do to just start off?

Like if I start it up with the recommended settings and what not, are there any ways to let the other 29 teams that I don't really want to control to have their lineups be fine with minutes and all? Also would the manual injuries really be necessary (again is there a way to have the CPU automatically adjust the lineups/minutes)?

Pretty much what I'm getting at is I want to run this 30-team thing with the least amount of work to do for the other 29 teams (outside of the off-season as I know that'll be mandatory). Also, would it really be killer to have Player Roles on as I always liked the fact it gave a little "realism" to the mode.

Sorry if all these questions have been asked a million times over and over again I just didn't want to go through 8 pages of reading. Thanks in advance!
