Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
To give up 2 straight 1st rounders when 1 is the #8 seems too much. If there was a high probability that the next pick would be late lottery or later, then it would be fair, but with this trade I feel that the Wolve's would likely end up giving up 2 Top 10 picks.
It also depends on the depth of the drafts in question. If you have 2 very deep drafts with no awesome stand out players, the trade doesn't benefit the wolve's at all. If it has a potential all-star for this year's #1, it may be worth it.Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
I was looking at what the Magic's roster would be if they send Howard to NJ. They are going to have an overload at PF with Glen Davis, Kris Humphries, and Ryan Anderson. How crazy would it be to send Anderson to NJ in the Howard deal for Damion James and the Rockets 1st round pick? Anderson is a stretch 4 and I don't know how he would fit with Lopez, a poor rebounder. The Magic also have no depth at SF and James, when healthy, isn't a bad role player. It is also very possible that Orlando could take a PF with the Nets pick and let Anderson walk in free agency. This would allow them to pick up a 1st and a young player. So the final trade would be
NJ gets Howard, Turkoglu, Anderson
ORL gets Lopez, Brooks, James, Humphries, Okur, Farmar, 2012 1st, 2014 1st, and 2012 1st from HOU
Is this fair? Or would it be better to leave Anderson in Orlando?Tennessee Volunteers

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
I think you could easily make the argument that the reason Lopez had his rebounding year when he was paired with Anderson was that Anderson wasn't much of a rebounder at the time(he has improved)."You come at the King, you best not miss..."Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
You could, but you could also easily make the argument that Nets management has asked Brook to play 5-10 feet away from the basket the past few years, allowing Humpries' rebounding to skyrocket and causing Brook's to drop.Comment

One more question
I'm not really familiar with all the contract rules, so how should I give Dwight and Deron their extensions? Remove the option and extend them now? Decline the option and extend them in the offseason? Or accept the option and extend them next year?Tennessee Volunteers

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
I wouldn't necessary say it's that, but more likely that Brook is just lazy. He in fact, said it himself last year. To quote the New York Post: "It was a number of things — I was being lazy, first and foremost,” Lopez said. “Hump was doing such a good job a lot of the time, that I’d see him doing his thing and kind of leak out offensively. I didn’t really crash the offensive boards. There’s really no excuse for that because I didn’t leak out defensively at all.Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
I would also like to know a good way to do it. I've been trying to come up with ideas, but I don't know how. Maybe decrease the salary of one of the players the team with the exception is trading for, and then put it back up once the player is on the team.Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
Another question, is there a way to do a buyout? Should I just lower the salary to about half of the salary and waive them? Or just waive them without playing with the salary?Last edited by volstopfan14; 02-21-2012, 09:18 PM.Tennessee Volunteers
