Ok first that is not a fact that is your opnion.

Second ratings are determined based on a formula. For instance in the past 2K's formula for shot ratings from 3 was take the player percentage and add 45. When you are using a formula based system you put the numbers in and go by what comes out. Last season Dirk shot an amazing 52 percent from mid range. He is shooting the exact same percentage this year. There is no way you can justify a drop especially when you are using a math based formula. Again you don't lower him you raise the guys shooting better.

Lastly one thing you need to undertand is sample size. 15 games worth of data is not enough to override 82 games worth that the default ratings was based off of. So yes i can agree with giving guys who are shooting greatly a boost but no you don't lower a guy for doing the same or instantly jump guys ahead of him for just 15 games worth of work. If we did it your way then Marreese Speights would be a 99 from mid range right now and Corey Brewer would be a 99 3pt rating right now. Now do either of those ratings make any kind of sense to you??

He is shooting 47% from mid range, not 52%, that's a decrease from his previous year if my maths are still good, besides that he is not scoring the same amount of mid range jumpers per game than last year. And besides that his productivity has drastically decreased, from 23 ppg and 52% fg to 17ppg and 45% fg, his always poor rebounding stats have decreased as well, from 7 rebounds to 5.4

About the excuse of the sample data, so 15 games are enough to give somebody a rating boost, but not a rating decrease? Doesn't that sound ironic? This is called living rosters for a reason.

You can't go by that link you posted because that area that is highlighted also had areas in it that would fall under the close rating. Hoopdata matches up the closest with how 2K breaks down the locations. According to them Dirk is at 52 percent the same as last year. Kobe is at 46 percent.

Again you are clearly missing the point and the logic behind this. The reason why Kobe had a 78 out the box is because he shot 38 percent from mid range last year and that was the third year in a row his percentage dropped. Dirk shot 52 percent. It is clear to see why he was rated much higher. Now taking this year into account Kobe's number has jumped from last year while Dirk has stayed his great self from that area. So the simple answer here is You raise Kobe's rating but you don't lower Dirk's. It is really just that simple you are trying to hard to make up some logic that doesn't really apply here.

Yes you should stop becuase it's clear you don't understand how to analyze stat data and looking at it also it is questionable you well you can read the numbers there. It is obvious to see that those two different sites don't match up anywhere near each other. Your link posted show Dirk taking 133 shots in the area you wanted highlighted. Hoopdata has him at 81 attempts from 16 to 23 feet so clearly they are not the same. I don't even have to show you the numbers last year to prove that point. Clearly they are tracking shots from different distances.

In your last post i saw you edited it after i had already quoted it but please tell me where I mentioned anything about his rebounding or anything of that nature?? We was clearly speaking on shot ratings(in which I said his close or inside deserves a decrease) then you come in taking about something completely different trying to put words in my mouth. Nice try though.

I don't know where you get the fanboy stuff from becuase I have clearly never been anything close to one for any of the mentioned people or companies invloved. So yes please just stop because you are still clearly missing all of the logic and points behind how you input the numbers to determine a rating.

well, 23 ppg and 7 rebounds per game with 51.7% fg and 39.3% from 3pt to 17 ppg and 5 rpg with 45.6% fg and 23.5 from three.

That's a big overall decrease without any doubt. Can't wait about what do you have to say about that.

Your link posted show Dirk taking 133 shots in the area you wanted highlighted. Hoopdata has him at 81 attempts from 16 to 23 feet so clearly they are not the same.

Simply because you are only looking at 16-23 feet, but in case you don't know, a lot of 10-15 feet shoots also can be considered in the mid range area.

Hoopdata is pretty inaccurate there as it doesn't show that. The nba.com link actualy takes the shot charts from the game and automatically translates it into mid range shots so obviously it's a way more reliable source for this.

But hey, keep living in your bubble, Dirk is playing at the same level than last year or even better xD
