Keep in on topic fellas, and not towards one another.

To the OP, I agree. Can't tell you how many times this happens, and it frustrates you to no end. Case in point, Pacers @ Heat, Paul George cuts of a Lebron James fast break, but all of the sudden I lose control of George as he runs away from Lebron, Lebron goes to the hoop and throws it down.

Too many instances I'm moved out of the way "somehow".

I did it for you. Not sure why it's not doing it for you. Click on Share, then Embed, Copy and paste all of the embed code here.

that's what I did, but it wouldn't embed the video for some reason...weird. i seem to have that problem a lot when trying to embed videos here.

          thanks for fixing it.

It might just come down to which browser is used. In the past I've had problems getting an embedded video to show in this forum while browsing on Google Chrome, but I can get that very same video to show with no problems at all while on Internet Explorer.

In this video you see the lack of contact and realistic collision physics. I call this "slip n slide physics" - meaning a defender will be standing right in the path of the ball handler, but game will make the defender "slip" left or right...so the the 2 players will "slide" past one another rather than colliding - in these situations the physics behave as if the players are sheets of ice sliding past eachother. The players are like slippery cylinders with no friction.

post of the year. This stuff happens all the time in 2k12 but not in 2k11. Pisses me off when you get good position and ballhandler magically gets open layup without contact while surrounded by 2 defenders. Sad to say but looks like canned layup animations

Great video. I definitely feel this is one of the more harmful aspects of NBA 2K12. It affects the entire feel of the game in a negative fashion. Things feel terribly slippery and unnatural. And whereas you have an issue with defenders sliding out of the way, I have just as much of a problem with defenders sliding into the way.

                    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/E531hel3YTQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe

It definitely makes it tough to operate based off of basketball instincts.

Yeah, it's definitely frustrating when players just slide out of the way when someone drives to the basket.

Like a few others said, the lack of contact could be a result of people complaining about the amount of contact in 2K11.

And let's not forget the moments where a DIFFERENT animations takes over contrary to your button press (i.e. you press block, but your player tries to take a charge). The defense in NBA 2K12 is terrible this year.

I see it happen more in the Greatest mode rather than in regular play. Those legend teams get a serious boost in defense/recovery imo.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

No, i think DJ was referring to the way the browser displayed his post with VDusen's - it like merged their two posts into one. it might be the browser that's causing it to display like that. I'm viewing it on Safari right now. if I look at where post #26 should be in this thread - rather than displaying DJ's post beneath VDusen's, it mashed his post along side VDusen's, and it didn't display any of DJ's post info...it just shows his text, but without his name and post time displayed. Maybe VDusen's embedded video caused a hiccup with the forum display or something weird like that.

I'm thinking it's the video as well. It happened to me twice last night, the other time in the "Should there be a Dunk Button" thread. The post worked initially, but when I went to edit by adding someone else's quote so I could respond to them too, things went haywire. I apologize for that. I'm using Chrome, but I've never had any issues like that before last night.
