As for 2K, I am looking forward to all the info to come out including the gameplay on Monday but I agree it will not be groundbreaking. I don't expect anything groundbreaking from any franchise until the next cycle of consoles honestly.
i doint know live should be able to put up some sort of fight, live 10 isn't all that bad they got some stuff they need to fix like on ball d and being able to jump passing lanes.

if you and others feel like they will fail thats your opinions

think the game is going to look quite good, being that i personally feel that 2k12 was tester, i think they will have something great in store, quite sure it will be better than nba live 13, but im still buying both though

It's called pressure..never underestimate what another company is capable of...I agree 2k has been the superior the last decade, but I also think EA has something big up their sleeves their not telling anyone.

What was casual about 2k12 or 2k11? I can't speak for everyone but 2k12 was a solid game, was it a giant leap like 2k11; no. It was a very solid game, I'm not going to defend everything but if you download one of the many great rosters and sliders, and learn how the game works 2k12 can be fun. My biggest grip with 2k12 is the lack of post double teams.

The devs are going to have to add some unrealistic things so the game is competitive and harder. I hate warping but I understand why its there, I hate the speed bursts but I know why they had to put it there for the cpu, and I hate the psychic defense but its there for a reason.I had to learn how to play with and around the previously mentioned things.

I'm not arguing with you and your opinion just that 2k12 is a very sim game and my opinion on it has changed since it was released. Its a difficult game but that's where playing sim comes in, if you prefer a easier game then a arcade game will probably be better for you. That isn't a diss just that, I know most people that prefer easier games usually like the arcade version better. I know must of us or some of us still prefer 2k11 but imo 2k12 is a better game. This is completely off topic I'm sorry.

Live hasn't done anything in the last 10 years to put pressure on 2k. The only one that has any pressure is EA.

TELL THEM TO SET IT TO HOF SIM. THEY ALWAYS SHOW US THE GAME ON CASUAL AND THE COMPUTER DOESN'T DO ALL IT'S CHEAP NONSENSE ON THE LOWER DIFFICULTIES

since they are showing the spurs it should show if they fixed the open court speed issue. If I see kendrick perkins keep up with tony parker on the fast break im going to be disappointed.

Yeah because that is what casual gamers want to see low scores, missed shoots ,no dunks and a bunch of fouls, unfortunately they a buy more games than sim gamers.

How so? If 2K had released the *perfect* game (an impossibility), would people be so close-minded as to say "If another basketball game comes out, I'm not even slightly willing to give it a look". Many of you act as if 2K12 is some huge disappointment and I'm not sure why. I look in other forums and I see people begging for developers to give them the privilege of paying for downloadable historic stadiums, legacy players, etc. 2K12 has complete historic teams, with team/player specific commentary (better than most full games), players have their own unique signature animations, along with historic arenas and presentation elements that are era-specific. Not DLC, included with the game. And what do we read many here say? "It's a gimmick/get rid of it" lol. Ridiculous. There's FAR more right about the game than those of you that complain incessantly are willing to give the game credit for. And that's okay. But stop it with the view that it's 2K's fault they "didn't put Live away". Because it was never going to happen regardless.

I'll be looking forward to seeing the gameplay preview on Monday, but really not expecting to see anything groundbreaking. My guess is it'll be similar to when they last did E3 with 2K10, and we get an idea to the improvements coming regarding the player interaction and maybe a new gameplay enhancement. It's not like the game requires some overhaul as some insinuate. Anything outside of that for me will be gravy
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

I'm not saying 2k12 was bad or that it was unsim but they certainly catered to the casual crowd with this one. If you compare 2k12 to 2k11 you can feel a noticeable difference when it comes to 'hardcore' basketball and 'casual' basketball.

For example, last year I wasn't really afraid of anyone -- not LA, not Miami, nor the NBA champion Mavericks. Why? Because I knew if I just ran a correct offense (this means plays), I could overcome 90% of the cheese out there. Playing basketball dictated the game. This year I constantly have to avoid the top teams due to players like Durant, Westbrook, and Harden dunking on you whenever they feel like it. Casual players can compete (and dominate in some cases) with cheap tactics that didn't really work in years past.

I mean, if I really compared them I could probably find a couple more things but this is just off the top of my head. 2k12 is a good game but I believe it needs to leave that casual approach alone and get back to the 'sim' foundation it was built on.

Please, half of that was going on with NBA 2K11. You can't stop people from cheesing, and you seriously not going to get 2K to make the game "all sim" because 75% of their buyers are the cheesier land. Last year when NBA 2K11 was out people were complaining about cheesing, so don't get your point. If you want a 100% sim authenic game the ONLY way to do it is to either A. Join a Sim League B. Play Only Sim Appoints or C. PLAY OFFLINE.

Once again, LMAO at people buying into the oldest ploy in the book take something away give it back and see how much you love it. I honestly don't think EA will be any better. 2K has been the higher rated game for 12 years and best selling for I don't know how long. Let's be honest here 2K took the crown fair and square. You are a fanboy or tout if you keep coming on every 2K thread talking about how much faith you have in a product that has been inferior for 12 years in the majority of the populations minds. I love competition so I am happy to see Live coming back but I do not like there chances to do anything other than get the fanboy customers that they don't have to do a single thing to get anyway.
