Game was stripped lol where should i begin... No lobbies, association had no real flex schedule, no slider adjustments, hardly any options, no lobbies for that mode either, no crew, etc, a quick matchmaking that took up to 4 minutes to get into a game. Just keep the topic on the 2k13 gameplay announcement. You obviously are not understanding the meaning of barebones.

Literally everything you mentioned was about the online which i could care less about. Even with all of the so called "missing" things the game had, it still wasn't barebones. You seriously don't know what that word means or you just like to exaggerate.

If you care less about it then why even quote my post. Had you paid attention to the discussion going on in this thread or remember the countless complaints of 2k12 being stripped of features and options it would not be that hard to figure out the barebones reference.

My bad, you DID mention online. Forgive my idiot moment. I'll leave quietly now.

Read through the comments regarding my comment -- good thoughts. But to keep the convo on topic I won't respond, to ensure the thread isn't derailed. Anyone can hit me up on AIM (jerzeyreign) and we can talk about it. I'm always up for a sports/video game chat.

Anyway, I really hope to see less canimations in this video. I mean, I hope one day we could get rid of them all but I just need baby steps. I'd also like to see less skating but I chalk that up to canimations being responsible for most of the skating that gets under my skin.

The fact that ea canceled their game. More people where given 2k12 a shot that would normally go with the live series for whatever reason. Had 2k12 been a great installment following 2k11 the 2k series would of converted more users to the base and kept the strong following they had for 2k11.

2k12 was barebones, had issues with online and had disappointing gameplay mechanics which opened up the door which could of been tightened further to the point where it would of just became a juggernaut like the madden following. Instead you have the live base not impressed with the 2k12 product, some of the 2k11 base not impressed with 2k12 and are keeping their options open.

Ea has a great chance for a quicker turnaround and must have been saying to themselves we dodged a bullet. Instead of being on all pro football status they actually have a shot of gaining a lot of users back on board quicker then they anticipated.
My dude 2K already has a mass following. It's a basketball videogame that sold five million copies and has been superior to it's competition for at least the life of this console generation. How in the hell is 2K NOT a juggernaut? You're crazy talking right now.

The whole talk of enough people jumping ship from 2K to EA to make a dent just because of online is just ignorant of other current situations and once again shows how people are being touts and fanboys more than realistic observers. First of all, the majority of people would say EA had better online before they got there butts run out of business. So, if it did not make that big of a difference then why will it make that big of a difference now? Next, the Show like NBA 2K is in the running for sports game of the year damn near every year and the Show has problematic online also. Thus, the facts all point to 2K being a current juggernaut that is so good at what they do best that it gets people to overlook such a nagging flaw as not having the greatest online experience even though it has always been fine for me.

Keep reaching guys. Lastly, if this were a Live forum the Staff members would have long been in here warning people of trolling and telling them to quit mentioning 2K in a Live forum. You people are actually hurting Live more with your stanning than helping

No disrespect to anyone but I just have to say it. How do you expect to see gameplay improvements? You have to actually play the game itself to see how it plays. Hence, gameplay. You have to have a strong mind to actually blog or post online because there are some characters that have no clue and just come to complain.

I can't speak for everyone, but you can watch gameplay videos and see whats fixed and what isn't. For example If I watch the video on Monday and see Tim Duncan keeping up with westbrook, then I know they haven't fixed the speed factor. Even though we aren't playing, the gameplay will at least give us an idea of what the gameplay will be like in the full retail version.

Yeah exactly you can't be 100% sure on everything because it is an early build but I am looking to see things like that. Excessive sliding, better ball movement, passing and some new improved player models and to see how speed was improved upon.

People play video games games for different reasons. It may be for Association purpose, It may be for Exhibition, My Player, Online Mode or for Incredible Gameplay. 2k12 Offers all of that, but there are some flaws in each category. That doesn't mean 2k12 isn't a good game. It's a great game, if not one of the best basketball games of all times and I could never take any credit away from 2k12. They deserve that, but you have to understand that people have their frustrations about the game as well, especially when it's the ONLY GAME OUT THERE. People tend to look at your game more when you are only game on the market. Just because they want to play something else or jump ship should say something about the game as well. Maybe they are tired of the same or lack thereof. They probably want something new and fresh. I know I do. That's how I look at Madden. Lack of competition does that sometimes. I miss the days where there were 2 football video game franchises.

Also, 2K isn't a juggernaut. EA Sports can develop whatever game they want even if it's not profitable. The only reason why NBA Elite wasn't released was because of BAD REVIEWS and lack of development. EA has the money to put out as many NBA ELITES or NBA LIVES they want. They wanted to save themselves from embarrassment. 2K Sports can't afford to do that. The only profitable game they have now is NBA 2k, but they do have the best basketball game on the market and that's a fact. You are blind if you think NBA LIVE won't cut into their sales. That's not helping with their current lineup situation and closure of sport games. At the end of the day I'm getting both games since I've been playing Live back in the mid 90's and 2k since 2000.

How can you not see GAMEPLAY improvements from watching a GAMEPLAY video? Is that the question you're asking because it wouldn't take much to not notice skating or to notice foot planting. It'd be really easy to see canimations, or at least the ones from this year, in the video.

Unless you were referring to something different, every day 2k players probably could spot that stuff in a heartbeat. I figure in a raw gameplay video we'd be able to spot those things -- in a hype trailer, probably not.

If they show a raw gameplay video, expect us at OS to dissect that thing like a frog in a 6th grade science class. Heck, I think they post videos early to hear us complain so they can fix it. They still have 4 months of work time before going gold -- a lot of time, I assume, to fix any major things.

When your the only regular basketball video game available for two years your not going against anyone else. Of course your going to do numbers. The real comparison would be the year there was two basketball titles 2k10 vs live 10. This year with 2k13 and live 13 will be another good measuring stick. But if you want to continue the discussion just pm me so the thread can stay on course.
