Re: NBA 2K11 was better?
I can't say if 2K11 is better because I never bought or even played a full game of 2K12. I love 2K11 so much (have some great roster sets) and am so immersed in my Heat Association I never even really thought about getting 2K12 till I see it in the discount bin after 2K13 comes out.
The only reason I would consider 2K12 is for the Legends Showcase and from what I heard the much improved My Player.
2K11 is the best sports game along with MLB The Show 12 I have ever played.
I guess my biggest question about 2K12 would be is it that much of an upgrade over 2K11? I know the playbooks are deeper and the post game is supposedly better. But I heard the AI is not. No more double teams really which is very important to me as I love when I am red hot with a player the CPU will try to shut me down and roll double teams to me a lot.
I am sure it's a very solid game. But like I said 2K11 has me hook line and sinker. I don't think I need another NBA title for a few more years.
It's that good.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: NBA 2K11 was better?
Both games had there flaws, but I think 2K12 is the better game...we can pin point issues with both game if you wanted but truthfully when you unravel it all 2K12 offers a much more deeper experience than 2K11 did, both games need help to make the experience better...like others I think 2K11 was better out the box but as an overall package I would definitely choose 2K12 over 2K11 if I had/really wanted to get my BBall fix before the 2K13 release.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 was better?
Well the dbl team issue can be fixed through rosters I know. There was a 2k official roster that had dbl teaming by the cpu. But of course typical 2k fashion the next roster had no dbl teaming. So some of the roster makers might be able to help you with this issue. Which makes the game 10x better.Currently playing:

Re: NBA 2K11 was better?
2k12 Has a much improved post game, smoother and more dynamic shooting animations, a larger library of plays, good arena lighting, skin tones and smoother player movement...
But thats where the on court improvement stops
2k11...
albeit over exaggerated, had a better representation of on ball defense
Did the pick and roll/ pick and pop better (execution and spacing)
Handled driving collision, and contact in the paint more realistically
More responsive Isomotion besides 2k12s ability to string between the legs dribbles together
Had more Tendencies
Had cpu double teams
Cpu Isoed on perimeter mismatches consistently
Spaced the floor better in general
Handled blocks better sans the 2-player animations
Passing was much more responsive
Fastbreaks weren't disrupted as easily via magic deflections
signature packages were more flexible in who you could give them to.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 was better?
What everyone complaining about 2k12 for? Personally, I love 12, so much that I can't pre order 13 (not enough money available) so I'm just gonna skip 13, so I can get cod bo2 and ac3. Same with NCAA/nfl 12 and possibly NHL 12.PSN / Xbox GT - BLUEnYELLOW28Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 was better?
After playing 12 exclusively for months, i played 2k11 for the first time in over a year today. Heres a couple things i noticed while playing online.
I cant shoot in 2k11. I dunno what it is. I couldnt shoot when I played it before and I cant shoot now. I constantly shoot in the high 30's low 40's%. In 2k12 I consistently shoot at 45& or above.
You can swipe like crazy and not get the steal - you will also not get called for the foul. At least its not like 2k12 were people can pick your pocket with the greatest of ease. But it still is annoying they dont call a reach.
Ya its easier to get to the rim in 2k11 but i was missing lay ups like crazy. Lay ups I make in 2k12. Plus it felt like the d reacted quicker to close down the lane than in 2k12.
All in all, I find 2k12 to be a more fluid game with a quicker and deeper set of animations. Its not like the two games are drastically different; more like 2k12 is a refined version of 2k11.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 was better?
I don't play online at all and IMO the CPU's offense is much better in 2K11. The depth of the offense, the decision making, etc. They seem much more aggressive and smarter. It's kind of odd since 2K12's playbooks are out of this world (by far my favorite part of the game). Granted 2K11 was far from perfect (Deng running a thousand floppies and jacking up 3's) but I like it more.
My biggest issue with 2K12 was that the controls felt sloppy compared to 2K11. I still play 2K11 the most, it's just more enjoyable for me."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
