Re: NBA 2K13 Signature Skills -- Confirmed Additions vs Speculated Additions
I'd like to see a skill that differentiates dunks between players. Maybe dub is "springs"? Players like Blake Griffin, Rudy Gay, Westbrook, Possibly Rose, Wall, IguodalaComment

No need to have both closer/finisher skill AND a clutch skill imo.
Also They should have a deep 3 skill for players who can hit jumpers from way behind the 3 point line. I can see how that could get cheesy though.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Signature Skills -- Confirmed Additions vs Speculated Additions
I am very excited at the possibility of LeBron's ability to chase down opposing players and block them from behind finally being represented in the game. Hoping that LeBron has some nice block the ball of the glass animations, and maybe even a head down speed burst to make up the ground defensively seeing as that is what he typically does in real life. This addition if done correctly goes a long way towards making virtual LeBron perform like his real life counterpart.Comment

Just for fun and something quick of off photoshop
The spike...mostly for players like Dwight Howard and McGee
I have been asking for these types of blocks to be put in game and from the gamescoms vids provided so far I have seen the players actually jump trying to swat the ball
JaVale McGee blocking shots...

Shaqs block even though it's a goaltend it would be nice if we had the opportunity do do something like this

Are some of these signature skills not redundant? The ratings should determine the skills, and an actual rating scale for skills makes for more variety said skill. I worded that poorly.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Signature Skills -- Confirmed Additions vs Speculated Additions
So even though only 5 traits would be used at a time...I think even the elite players will have access to more than 5, meaning you can switch any of them out before/after the game...or even better, DURING the game! That would be very interesting, because knowing what we know so far of traits, MJ just as an example should have at least 5 available to him:
Floor General
Dead Eyes (for the mid-range)
Lockdown D
*Chase Down Block (only for earlier in career)
Pick Pocketer
Anchor (possibly, if it's not exclusively limited to big man and truly inspires your team on that end)
Clutch
Finisher
So I think an AWESOME aspect of this is having the ability to switch these out on the fly at any given moment, for strategy's sake. Would make it even more important which traits you choose prior to a game so they get locked and have to live with your decision...Would truly make each game different.Comment

Contrary to FIBA where teams look more for all-around players, NBA teams are loaded with specialists, so perhaps all of this is about determining who those specialists are and what is their main capability as perhaps ratings are not good enough to differentiate them...
If well implemented (hopefully) I dont consider this to be arcade but even more sim as it will add more strategy to the game... I am looking forward to try how it works...
Cheers! ;-)Last edited by Guard-ian; 08-18-2012, 07:35 AM.Ignorance is Bliss...Comment
