Re: NBA 2K13 Signature Skills -- Confirmed Additions vs Speculated Additions
For his career though he's averaged .6 to 1.1 blocks a game, so his ratings in the game have to reflect that. In chase down situations though, he takes it out of neutral and gives max effort. The game now has a way to reflect the uniqueness or specialties of players in a way that isn't reflected in the normal ratings or even the tendencies.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Maybe Wade although I'm hoping he has his own block signature skill since he is an excellent shot blocker at the guard position, often blocking centers and forwards.Comment

Nic Batum, he gets a lot of chasedowns, and on top of that, he is a better shotblocker than lebron.

I think it would be the difference between guys like Rondo and John Wall and guys like Darren Collison and Tony Parker. Both Collison and Parker are very fast, but they aren't known for being one man fast breaks like Rondo and Wall.
I would imagine it's to further seperate players who like to intiate the fast break themselves. Hence "one man" fastbreak.Comment

I dont think it is for Flashy Passes. There is tendency for it.
It is for players that spot out open teammates for scores. I think it will boost Off Awr for the player who has it, so they can pass it.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Signature Skills -- Confirmed Additions vs Speculated Additions
Speed ratings determine whether or not someone initate's a fast break by themselves?Do tell where you've seen this in previous 2K's. I'll wait.
Now, we've got a confirmed skill that lets the player set good picks called "brick wall". Did we have a rating that did that already? Sure, you could say strength, but, more often then not it had no bearing on whether they set good on-ball or off-ball screen. Any scrub big man would do.
It's the same for the Chasedown Block rating. Sure we already had a rating for blocking, but some guys go into that extra gear when trying to stop a fast break oppurtunity, which is what I'm saying.
There is a massive difference between this: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/9M7P4L1U5ys" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
And this: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/aKrfMofaTHI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
This is what I think the Speedster skill is, and I would reckon I'm fairly close.Comment

I think <b>speedster</b> is a wrong choice of words, but I agree that something like this needs to be implemented. A few pages back I called it <b>coast-to-coast</b> where a player would grab a rebound and take it all the way.Comment

I can see what they mean by it though, if it in fact, works that way.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Signature Skills -- Confirmed Additions vs Speculated Additions
I am thinking that this particular icon and a few others are something for a casual user or someone who is not familiar with a paticular player to know what their skills are. In 2k12, if I was unexperienced with playing with someone like Shane Battier offensively, I would think he could shoot 3's from anywhere due to his rating since we aren't able to pull up hotzones or hotspots DURING GAMEPLAY. So I can see how a CORNER SPECIALIST icon would help.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Signature Skills -- Confirmed Additions vs Speculated Additions
I think the part that makes Corner Man less redundant than just having a hot spot is that, much like how Westbrook will display more moves near the basket by having Acrobat, the Corner Specialist will more likely gravitate towards the corner more often now instead of sometimes being elsewhere.
And if Speedster means they'll push fast breaks solo more often, then it's quite different than just having someone 90+ speed.
The more I think of this, the more I think these sig skills are more for the CPU's benefit of having players play like their real selves than me or some joe schmoe to know how to use player X cuz he's a Finisher with Chase Down.Last edited by Eman5805; 08-18-2012, 04:55 PM.Comment
