Re: When will we finally hear about classic teams/legends mode in 2k13?
The achievement for historic teams being used online not only indicates that there will be classic teams in game but also makes me think they are upgrading our classic experience. We couldn't bring legends online in 2k12 and now it looks like we can. The legends DLC was pretty successful and I think 2k knows there is a strong following for classic teams and legends (just look at the roster boards and PB's following). Just my opinion but I feel the inclusion of classic teams in the online experience is a very good sign that classic teams are in and in a big way.
Last year the whole focus was on classic teams and legends and the game was successful. I don't see 2k switching gears now. Its been a steady build up since 2k11 and the Dream Team being in is a good sign too. Also remember, MJ was signed for 3 yrs and this is the third title. I would bet they keep re-upping the contract but if they didnt, you have to think they will go all out this year.
Time will tell. I for one would skip 2k13 no matter how good it is if there are no classic teams. I'd have to wait and see what guys like PB, mkharsh or ddel do before purchasing. New jack NBA just doesn't do it for me.
I still think the best solution would be for 2k to develop a "Hardwood Classics" or "NBA's Greatest" title as a stand alone game. Filters, era specific gameplay styles and animations...man that could be amazing.Comment

Since the game releases in about 2 weeks I'm guessing we'll find out sometime between now and then.

Just thought I would throw it out there for reactions and comments. My seperate thread was locked so that I would post in wishlistbut this thread is relevant.
What do you think about DLC for individual classic seasons?
-Call it something like NBA 2KSEASONS DLC
-You would purchase individual seasons packages (1986, 1992, etc) THAT WOULD INCLUDE:
-teams of that given season
-the rosters with appropriate rating for the given season
-the coaches of that season(if possible)
-the uniforms for that season
-the all star weekend location, uniforms, and contest formats
for that given season
(Example-8 contestants/3 round dunk contest for 1988, etc.)
-If you purchase consecutive seasons you could draft actual incoming rookies for that years upcoming season.
FOR EXAMPLE- If you purchased 1983 and 1984 you could attempt to draft Jordan instead of blowing it on an overrated Sam Bowie.
-My Player can be integrated into any draft year you choose
-It all comes down to MONEY $$$$
Classic players can be paid some sort of negotiated roylaty percantage based off of purchases of each individual season
WOULD YOU PAY FOR IT?
HOW MUCH WOULD YOU PAY PER SEASON PACKAGE?
5 SEASON BUNDLE?
10 SEASON BUNDLE?
THANKS
Notes-
Please do not post comments about PC created teams, etc.
This is for console gamers who just want to pay and play.Comment

Re: When will we finally hear about classic teams/legends mode in 2k13?
There’s no longer any kind of specific mode for the legends teams, but each of those old-school squads in 2k12 is still playable, including one new one: The Allen Iverson-led ’00-01 Philadelphia 76ers. There’s also a celebrity team, starring Justin Bieber, Meek Mill, Wale, JB Smoove, Jersey Shore‘s Vinny and Pauly D, Bow Wow, Sean Kingston, Mac Miller and Brian Baumgartner (Kevin from The Office).

I'd say he makes about as much sense as those other guys, though I admit I don't know much about them. I do know Baumgartner, as big a guy as he may be, is frequently regarded as the best athlete on the cast of The Office (which I know isn't saying much). If there's any Office fans out there, you may remember the one shot take of Brian knocking down five or so jumpers in a row at the end of Season 1's basketball episode.Comment

1.They didn't touch Association according to that
2.No longer any kind of specific mode for the legends teams
3.No mention off any online stuff
Hope 2k held back on them but 2k13 sounds mad shallow based on this the gameplay is going to be nice but sounds like the only thing that got improved/revamped was mycareer/myplayer.Comment

I think we all realize that the reason for the legends mode last year was because of the lockout they decided to put a big focus on legends because they didnt know if there was going to be a season. I found it REALLY annoying that I had to complete the mode (or play with a modded profile file) to play with all the classic teams. I think most of us just want to play with the classic teams in exhibition, online and in league play.
The online insight is coming in the next 7 days so we will have more info on it then.Comment

Didnt really think they needed to add a ton of features to Association. Just tweaks to the AI and bug fixes. The association is very deep as it is.
