I just want the teams but a mode extends the life of the game a bit by making you work for it a little. Either way is fine with me.

I would like to see association mode where you use this years NBA rosters but input a previous DRAFT YEAR (say 1984 or even 2004) as an option. You would complete a season and then during the draft, players from your selected DRAFT YEAR would be mixed in with the draft class. Each season you complete from there would input the following DRAFT YEAR players. If your chosen DRAFT YEAR was 84. After season 2, the 85 players would be drafted. After season 3, 86 and so on.....

Could make the draft a little more interesting.....

Didnt really think they needed to add a ton of features to Association. Just tweaks to the AI and bug fixes. The association is very deep as it is.

I think we all realize that the reason for the legends mode last year was because of the lockout they decided to put a big focus on legends because they didnt know if there was going to be a season. I found it REALLY annoying that I had to complete the mode (or play with a modded profile file) to play with all the classic teams. I think most of us just want to play with the classic teams in exhibition, online and in league play.

The online insight is coming in the next 7 days so we will have more info on it then.

My main concern about Association is they allegedly "tightened up" the AI last yr and the yr before that... I can work around and deal with bad AI if they have more to do and immerse yourself with in terms of features but the AI will never be perfect so I'll wait to see 2K detail any behind the scene improvements in the mode but if they don't pimp it in an insight I'll have my concerns...

Also if Association doesn't have more meat and/or better AI to it this yr we'll have gone from having 3 or 4 fairly well rounded modes in 2k12 to 1 with depth(mycareer) in 2k13

Not entirely. You have My Player, My Team (which is new) and Association. Like I said before Association is plenty deep and immersive. The only dynasty mode coming close is the Show. EVERY dynasty mode ever made has AI problems so that will never be fixed no matter what happens.

I agree about Association being deep but 2K is in a good postion to innovate the Association/Franchise type career modes experience and set a new standard simply because they have the foundation as to where other games are playing catch up.

Just don't want Association to rest on its past depth and not innovate just because its the industry leader in that area. You could make the argument that 2K has already began surpassing its own depth and creativity with MyCareer and Madden's CC careers could only be a yr or 2 behind.

Brian Scalabrine just retired from the league. I really hope 2K can work out a deal in time to make him a part of their legends roster.

Or to simplify, add an INCLUDE LEGENDS in drafts in association mode. Then the CPU can randomly select retired players and place them as potetnial rookies in each of your drafts. One year may have a mix of Ewing, Dumars, Chamberlin, and generics. Next year may have Jordan, Doc Rivers, Shaq, etc. \

Maybe throw in 2-4 potential Stars, 4-6 role players, and the rest generics each year.

There’s no longer any kind of specific mode for the legends teams, but each of those old-school squads in 2k12 is still playable, including one new one: The Allen Iverson-led ’00-01 Philadelphia 76ers. There’s also a celebrity team, starring Justin Bieber, Meek Mill, Wale, JB Smoove, Jersey Shore‘s Vinny and Pauly D, Bow Wow, Sean Kingston, Mac Miller and Brian Baumgartner (Kevin from The Office).

That's cool especially if they are available to play right away(seems to be the case). But what about all the players that were in the DLC? Are they all gone?

Having made classic rosters for a few years now 2k12 was great with all the teams and players on the disk, but being able to add in the DLC legends took it to another level. Having cyberfaces for guys like Jalen Rose, Kenny Anderson, Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, Gheorghe Muresan, Alex English, I could go on and on. If they are all gone I'll be disappointed, to finally get Barkley and lose the other players from 2k12 that were on the 93 Suns(Majerle, KJ, Ceballos) would be tragic(in the world of video games, not in real life).

I agree, the DLC legends added so much replay-ability to the game. Especially after finding that glitch and having all those DLC players in Free Agent pool. I had the best Classic roster file for each team. It was also fun to run a fantasy draft with the legends too. So many different things you could do. I wish 2k would pay attention to what took the game to a new level with 2k11 adding in Jordan, 2k12 bringing more of his friends. They should keep building on the classic teams because it took the game to another level and the sales data proves it. As much as I am looking forward to 2k13, just adding one more team is a let down especially if the remove all the players from DLC last year.

They should use a presentation filter (similar to how football games, you can change the weather) for 60s, 70s, 80s, etc. Also, maybe preset rules for each era. This way, having the specific "classic mode" wouldn't be as missed, as long as the teams are there.

Since there is only one new classic Team they could tell us the roster

edit: I hope the DLC players are in a Classic-FA-pool!
But i highly doubt it :/
