I forgot to mention you can easily steal the ball too, by pressing x at the right time the defender will lose the ball off his knees or just travel. Also when you time the easy charge your opponent picks up a foul. I've fouled people out who believe they can charge the paint all game. I'm not saying I'm better then anyone else , I'm just saying because of my knowledge of real basketball I can see that 2k made a great game and I'm able to still have fun with this game to this date . Meanwhile uneducated players like yourself complain and your whole army of ragers and blame-it-on-cheesers have the potential to ruin a good game by telling the developers that the game is still cheesy . Imagine if they could just build the graphics and every player detail and better association and maybe even crew. But instead they have to focus on changing gameplay so it suits the less talented basketball player but the more talented gamer. Which direction are we going in ? A real simulation of basketball or just a video game?
I'll complain about the gameplay because of what I've see and I've experienced with nba2k. Maybe I'm an uneducated player like you are calling me - without even knowing me, lol -, or maybe I've just a different opinion than yours and that's it. And it seems that I'm not the only one.
I believe that cheesing exist in this game, that there is a lack of contact between players and there are broken animations - among other game killer aspects in nba2k12. Have a good day sir

mth0mas, choose your wording very wisely, and that's all I'll say. As a newcomer to the forums, make sure you read the Terms of Service. Choosing to call people uneducated players when you don't know them, and claiming that your vast knowledge of the sport enables you to see the game in a different light, is extremely close to being a violation of the TOS. Just make sure you're familiar with them.

Also, post your Gamertag so the lesser educated ballers can try to debunk your methods. Welcome to OS.

Perfectly said. This guy comes in here talking smack about how great he is, someone should play him online and see if he's a cheeser. "there is not a move that these NBA players can do that I can't, in practice that is." That right there makes me feel like he's a bit off.

If stopping the cheese is so easy then why not post some videos of it being stopped consistently. Last time I played a ranked game, fatigue had no effect, collision detection was inconsistent, and I was playing with lower tier teams.

Trying to stop a player like James or Durant wasnt easy by any means. Most experienced cheesers use the cheap turbo boost at halfcourt every time down the floor(I hope 2k got rid of that this year). Attempting steals and charges against the spin dunk often resulted in a foul call. Even when your opponent has a gatorade icon. I'm one of those players that doesnt quit just because somebody chooses a top team.

Wow I just noticed this the other day I was wondering why people were turboing at halfcourt and getting to the basket at an unreal rate even though my defense is right there.

If the game is even slightly laggy it makes it harder on your defense because defenders will slide out of the way. Make sure you dont half-court press when you face a user like that.

Jkill01 is the gamertag , and yes I do see the game differently because of my vast knowledge, I'm able to actually fully enjoy the game . I don't see anything as cheese because I actually play real basketball. When I hear people on this forum complaining about so called "cheesers" I get scared and realize I'm buying a game that's sold for people who dont even play basketball ! Well hopefully that's not the case , but it's hard for 2k to create a perfect basketball game when their vocal market is a bunch of players who don't play the game as much as someone like myself who should be talking. 2k gets their advice from knowledgable players , not from people who play 100-200 online games. Unforetunetly there isn't a way to tell , so I'm here to show EVERYONE on 2k that there is NO cheese . There's nothing in this game that's unstoppable. Give me a list and I will debunk them all . And I will surely play anyone on these forums , I don't think I'm the greatest player , but I have a good time with the bobcats and I'm sure il give whoever wants to play a good match

There you go again man, bad mouthing people on this forum and 2k fans in general. I'm pretty sure we all play real basketball and I know no one is reaching in for the ball 15 times a possession or trying to draw a charge on me constantly. My live sub has run out, I would play you, as a "cheeser" just to see if you can truly stop all of the things those people do.

But I have a question....... If we want real life basketball, wouldn't that mean our actually skill and knowledge of the game come in handy? Since these things are the most important in a video game as well as real basketball, we should assume that the person with the most skill and knowledge will likely come out on top. Since there has to be a loser there has to be a complainer. Somebody who's skill obviously isn't up to par with the person he lost to. Have you ever caught yourself losing and blaming the other players off ball d? Or how he had a dunkfest with lebron all game. If someone can stop it, just like they stopped you, why can't you stop it? I think I speak for all the real gamers who have put there time in studying this game when I tell you your just making excuses.

Theres no cheese in 2k12. Zero. People on this forum are like magicians and Im here to prove them wrong. I would like anyone to challenge me and tell me something cheesy in this game.

Now if he's running a zone all game and I'm just diving into it with no real plan then he should win.

And I'm not saying guys have to run plays to win. When I play randoms who do the 'deny ball, play tight and run zone' tactic I immediately go into attack mode. The moment they start doing it from the main menu I change my philosophy on how I will approach the game -- which always starts with me wanting to run plays and go all out sim. The moment I see 'the cheese' tactics brewing I normally break out the #IsoMotionAchieved skill and break down the computer while attacking whatever weakness their scheme has. So I agree with the knowing both sides of the coin way of thinking -- we were all freestyle players at one point in our lives.
I agree, and the key word is should, but we just haven't gotten to that point, where someone that actually knows basketball can beat a cheesser 10 out of 10 times, ideally that should be the outcome. But trying to simulate a sport is so hard, trying to make the cpu think like a human hasn't really been accomplished.

Most of these top ranked people in all video games are usually cheesers, it's a video game and people will always find an exploit that in the real world wouldn't exist.

This is why I stopped playing the quick match after a while (and running out of xbox live). It's mainly because of cheesers and it's not that fun playing them. Yeah, you can find ways to stop them and all, but I think it'd be better if you actually set yourself a match with someone who won't cheese instead of playing random people all the time. That way, you won't have to worry about the cheese at all.

The more you play, the better the game gets.

The only problem with that is, as humans we tend to not look for the solutions to our problems. Here is how this game became the greatest basketball game and game I've ever played.

My roommate challenged me for money to a game of 2k. Money changes everything. He was the ultimate "cheeser" he did EVERYTHING this forum thinks of. I started losing money to him, once that happened I started searching for solutions to my problems. I realized that I played the game with instincts that I had go from all the previous 2k's and my first instalment 2k2. I was 9 then and mashing the steal button at will, trying to block every shot, not taking every possession seriously, things that all kids do when playing video games. Then I thought of things as an actually basketball player. The steal button realistically may not be pressed for an entire half if the offence protects the ball well enough. I only used it when players like garnett would attempt to cross cp3 up. I would steal it EVERYTIME. I realized timing is everything. You can block every shot if timed correctly, steal every pass, get steals on every layup attempt. The fast breaking is effortless and smooth. Stop alleyops by committing to the point guard, beat zones by attacking the middle and ball faking.

I use the fake pass all the time, nobody uses it, they think its worthless but it's one of the most effective ways to beat a zone and get any shot you want.

I really should start making some tutorials so I can back up my claims I know. Im not saying I'm the best, but I'm saying the way I play is unlike most and in a good way.
