If you look at the video you can clearly see the offensive player had room to shoot and it was just a good pull. I mean, sometimes lucky things happen but things like this just snowballs the situation into something bigger than it really is. I'm glad the 2k dev team agrees with the 'shot clock cheese' is just a myth logic.

Here is the Smoove video where the brunt of the above comments stem from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2vGy4yjTxk
Wait, he pretends he's a NBA player and he's having sex with women? That wasn't cheese, people are always calling things cheese. Cheese differs from person to person now. Cheese was defined as a exploited, create by the gameplay flaws, or a exploit that can not be countered.

Like I mentioned in this thread. I was defending the 6"2 Norris Cole (for crying out loud) with the 6"8 Stephon Jackson. I had my hands in his face and on the ball. When he jumped, I jumped and the ball still went over me and he hit a 3 right in the last second. He could have passed it to Lebron or Wade or Battier but he didn't, he took the shot himself.

Maybe you don't play offline against the CPU? I don't know. But I've had this happen to me so many times before. You truly can't deny it.

Very true -- I only used Smoove's video since his video was used. When I think of 'the cheese' I was thinking of the extremes guys always mention when they say shot clock cheese. Not a shot attempt with plenty of room between the shooter and the defender.

But this debate is pretty much dead since a dev has once again confirmed that 'the cheese' does not exist.

Could it be possible that they just don't want to talk about it/don't want to admit it/haven't really paid attention to it/didn't notice it in the code or that they are simply lying?

I seriously don't think anyone means any harm to 2K/the devs/whoever is in control so we are just telling them what happens to us. Airing out. I know there is something in this game that makes the CPU score a 3 in the last seconds that's simply ridiculous. Look it happens, it's not that big a deal. Just make sure it's gone in the next game.

If this is an easy thing to do, like others have said, why not demonstrate it with a video? If every time this happens no matter what, replicate it and post a video. Im sure no one can because it doesn't exist. I've had this happen to me maybe once or twice because lucky shots happen, or defense was weak. However, when my defense is on point, its either a block, brick, air. The word cheese is used for everything that doesn't favor the person getting "cheesed".

100% agreed. And the CPU may hit a shot to beat the shot clock every now and then, and whenever that happens people point and say, "See! It's cheese!!", even though it doesn't happen at a high rate or even consistently. In other words, people are quick to forget all the times the CPU missed shot clock beating shots, but will always remember the times they DID hit the shot, and use that for their argument.

Re: So, 2k doesn't believe in 'shot clock cheese'...your thoughts?

I will state for the millionth time from my gaming experience people call it the shot clock cheese because the CPU when tightly guarded, will take the shot clock down to the last second before shooting.

If this doesn't happen in your game then your D is terrible. Now the cheese comes into play with the CPU making a vast amount of contested C or lower rated "shot quality" baskets . THAT EXIST

I will conclude by saying the CPU shooting in General is Cheese. They can hit all day, everyday if you allow them to unlike the user whose shooting % will taper out to around 50% or less even if you take only open perfect release shots.

Dude, people have been screaming about 24 second shot clock cheese before Chris Smooth eve made a name for himself. This has been an issue since the original 2K

when you are able to control everyone it will barely happen because your the human and you know better than to let your cpu teammates to contest stuff. but while in my player all they have to do is pump fake once while someone is in their face rise up and money just about everytime shot clock going down pump fake up and under in the lane by 3 of cpu teammates still hits the shot with like a D quality.

ive been thinking that hotspots play a factor which is unfair since our my players cant even have them

never saw this. Again if it's easy to replicate and happens often, it would be nice to see a video compiling all of this. Otherwise, it's not called cheese and there isn't any.

i have no means of recording if i could i would show you lol. it happens with poor shooters with poor clutch if its kobe dwade you thats what they do but players like hedo and ryan anderson shouldnt be able to wet threes with one pump fake just because the clock is going down

I think the confusion is that when you guys say this you mean literally you didn't write any code to do this. Not that there couldn't be a bug somewhere else that may cause this.

So Boilerbuzz or ribs or whatever his name is was correct that if we took the dev's at their word that there is nothing specific written to produce this effect then maybe we could give them some definitive steps to reproduce the issue.

Another issue with tracking something like this down is the litany of different rosters, sliders, settings everyone is using who is reporting this issue.

                            Just my 2Cents.

And to the family who does the extensive testing you still have no idea how deep the rabbit hole goes. Individual ratings and tendencies sometimes do much more than you think they do and sometimes they do less and sometimes the dam things are not even turned on... IE Placebo effect.

Not so say that your testing doesn't give you some insight but it certainly does not always give you the whole picture.

Biggest part of the problem. I've mentioned as much repeatedly and people want to just defend without reading what is being posted.

I have also had that happen to me. Where you have a bigger defender and the shorter offensive player was able to shoot above you and he still made it in your face. Like what is that?! I'm pretty sure I timed my jump well but no block on the CPU. Pretty frustrating at times. I then can sing Smoove's "That's BS" song in my head.
