Yeah, you're probably right. Budgetary reasons, even though it would would take a day or two max for one person to fix the shoes and accessories, even though there are thousands of people who would do it for free, and even though it's free advertising for shoe companies. I feel bad for the art team if they can't even get enough budget to edit some shoes. But hey, at least we know Jay-Z is getting paid mad money to put gold chains around the menu!

I know the shoes and accessories are a non-issue for most people. They're nowhere near a deal-breaker for me either. It's just annoying, and that annoyance is compounded by 2K's silence and 2K apologists.

Not only Jay-Z but all the legends, all the other brands in the game, I would love if 2k13 was perfect I get annoyed like everyone else when the home away accessories are wrong on NBA today, but I understand that its a video game and it will never be perfect.

They added a ton of Nikes that no NBA player has worn since 2006 (Huarache 2K5, all old LeBrons, Kobes, etc.) but refuse to fix the ones that are relevant. Besides, fixing the AJ XI for example would take 20 minutes maximum. No excuse.

It's pure laziness. When you think about the hundreds of guys who are willing to fix the shoes, for free, I see no reason why 2K can't either fix them themselves or outsource the shoes and accessories to someone who knows what they're doing.

Until I see an actual source for these "licensing" theories, I will continue to chastise 2K for overlooking such a simple yet glaring issue.
Didn't say there was. Just saying there could be. We don't know. Not all shoes Nike makes are governed under one umbrella. Ask Jordan. Those are Olympic shoes. There may be some beurocratic weirdness. Wasn't even a huge point, so why fixate on it.

We had a thread going for sneakers last year, but it did little to help the authenticity of shoes in the game.

2K - Are you guys blatantly trolling? Or do you really have one of the laziest art departments in sports gaming?

Look at Jordan's shoes in the picture above. Now look at how they are supposed to look:
            Spoiler

This was the final straw for me. I don't have a PC and I don't plan to buy one. I shouldn't have to mod the game in order to do 2K's job for them.

I'm just curious to know if 2K is going to continue to piss off/disrespect an entire subculture for the 3rd year in a row.

Because they don't seem to care to address it at all...
I used to bug Ronnie to get the shoes right but sadly he ignored and 2K12 got the fake shoes again and I was very disappointed. I now tweet Beluba and Ronnie about this issue. Hope they listen this time.

Why is it SO hard for people to understand roles. Ronnie is a PR/community guy and Beluba is a gameplay designer. They have ZERO to do with art. So, yeah. Pleading to them will get you nowhere, and therefore "ignored" in your eyes...

I wasn't trying to be rude. My apologies if you took it that way. The only people we have access to are producers and marketing people. VC keeps their artist and engineers in a closet for max protection apparently.

I agree with people who are saying that the art team shouldn't be wasting time on shoes when there are other facets of presentation that need fixing.

That's why this new shoe creator needs to be robust enough to solve the majority of people's problems.

Give the players the tools to customize all their gear however they want instead of wasting precious patch resources on shoes that the great majority of players aren't going to care about.

I understand the Sneakerheads, but calling the 2K Dev team lazy and trolling?

                        C'mon son...

We all want the most realistic game we can have, and sneakers are definitely part of the hoops culture. But, 2K is doing work for their fanbase right now.

All the improvements in gameplay, inking Barkley, Iverson, and Pippen. You just gotta appreciate what this team is doing right now.

More like a lazy roster editor for me. They call him the "2K Insider", right? I hope he finds the time to assign non-generic shoes.

i pray for a year that 2k will release a game so good not even sneakerheads will notice everyone running in bare feet.

                            amen.

I never understood that myself. Like people have the latest "Slam" magazine next to them open and they look at the magazine while playing the game to make sure the shoes are right. Some issues with shoes not being in the game could be getting the license for it to be there. Some people don't understand its not laziness its that they may not have the right to have them in game..Now if they have a create a shoe feature that would help but I don't really care about that. Some people will never be satisfied.

I really wish people would kill that noise. If you can't see the shoes in the game outside of replays and closeups during timeout, then you're blind or your tv sucks.

Shoes aren't a game breaker, but it's annoying to keep having this issue. In particular the Jordan XI's. To have Mike on the cover of your game and have every pair of J's in a game for the first time ever and have them all suck and be impossible to make the actual colorways of them is just ridiculous and to have it happen the following year as well, even more ridiculous. Three years in a row will be totally unacceptable.
