Defense always gets the short end of the stick. Just the nature of the beast. Pretty sure the overall weighs offense more than defense for most positions outside of maybe Center. Plus stats wise, offense has way more data available than defense (and the ones available aren't usually that accurate).

I don't mind the menu layout. It kind of looks like a movie theatre lobby though.

Clutch shouldn't be a boost to your attributes, it should be a sign to show your players composure, attentiveness, all that ish when the time counts. Players with lower Clutch ratings should falter under extreme circumstances .... someone like Anthony Morrow who has 88 3PT shot will be nervous, less likely to knock a game winner than Kobe Bryant. I think that should be the way clutch works... not boost attributes - maintain your attributes in tight situations.

Very good points, but I don't know if players who aren't known as being clutch would necessarily be nervous. Lots of role players hit big shots at the end of games.

His point is that you could play incredible defense and that, simply by virtue of the "Closer" skill, a player could consistently make shots he really shouldn't be able to.

If I played against the Lakers three times, and Kobe missed all his heavily contested shots but magically made those same heavily contested shots in the clutch, I'd be pissed. One game, I can live with it-- it happens. But consistently, it would be terrible.

Cluch players don't get any better in the clutch. It's the other guys that loose their focus and skills.

So you would think that every players would see their rating decrease in the clutch except for thoses that have the skill trait.

Most of these skills are dumbed-down gimmicks.

Giving a player a Clutch "skill" while others don't have it is no different than giving those same players a Offensive Clutch rating of 75 while giving everyone else 25.

The difference is that we lose the ability to scale and therefore lose control over the effect from player to player.

All we can hope for now is that there are sliders or another way to configure the impact.

That shouldn't happen, either. The reason people get worse in the clutch is because defense steps up and plays harder, and teams typically put their best defensive lineups in the game in clutch situations.

THAT'S what should create the results of a clutch possession. Not some magical ability to increase or decrease attributes.

Still that's how it will be represented in the game.

And I still think some players are scared of the moments while a few others aren't.

I can see that with at the free-throw line in crunch time. Choker attribute.

ACtually we don't need any clutch rating or skill trait. Good players will be good in the clutch, while worse players will struggle. You don't need something that adds luck or randomness to it. Especially if that's something that boosts players's ratings. It's really wrong. Clutch players aren't any better in the clutch.

But that's not how it SHOULD be. It's amazing that a company who doesn't believe in shot-clock cheese is focusing so much on magical increases in ability during the clutch.
