I dont know what it is, and this was supposed to be the year of so called competition.... its like they laughed and decided to scrap most of the marketing and keep the funds after they saw what EA had to offer.

This year has been weird for sure

I mean, 2k doesn't blow everything out in marketing anyway, but there is a general confusion and feeling of lack of info this year... the hype is just dry and although its only a week away I feel like, I can actually wait this year.

What is going on!

I am very excited for this game because of the info that has been given. But, I am not pumped. Heck If I didnt know the game came out next week, I would think the game wasnt coming out for another month. It doesnt really seem like we will get any association info before the game comes out.

2k seems they know the game will be great, so they dont feel like they need alot of vids out. It is like a music artist who doesnt promote their upcoming album or "leak" any tracks out.

But, I think after Wednesday(their launch party) I think we will see more vids out.

Just noticed on all the gameplay videos, including FULL game with Ronnie2k, demo gameplay, there are watermark "NBA2K13" in the bottom left corner. Сan it be disable or its new "visual feature" of the game (which is bad if so)?

That's always there for pre release games, but won't be there in the full game. 100% certain of this.

Ive been waiting to hear about association for a long time. That is going to be a deciding factor for me. I dont expect/want and overhaul but I want to know about how they fine tuned (we hear about improved trade logic every year..) things and what bugs they have squashed..

It sucks because Im hearing that I wont get All Star weekend unless I pre-order and obviously I didnt pre order because I didnt hear anything about the only mode that matters to me.

Yeah I dont expect a overhaul(even big changes), but I want to know:
1. If the Tragic Logic has been fixed. I mind the Star Value system, but not where they its matching up the amount of stars. Teams should recognize who their stars and key role players are. There should a "No-Trade unless great offer" system for the key players. Teams know when they can get rid of a player when they have depth, but they dont know when they need depth for other positions. I hate it when we have like 6-9 guards and SFs and only 2-3 big men. It is a very big mismatch having a shoot first SF at PF on defense.
2. Progression has been changed from Potential-based to Progression-Based. It makes association/Mycareer/MP feel scripted when you know who players are going to turn out. Players who have less then avg stats shouldnt become stars because they have high potential.
3. If 2k's draft classes are improved. Not a biggie for those who use custom draft classes, but those who dont or run out a draft classes it is. Drafts are very scripted. You are better drafting in the top 12 if you are looking for a player to help out. Because after that, the rest are just filled rosters. I am not asking for consistent deep drafts. I am asking for their to be more variety and players in the last 1st and 2nd round in some drafts to be able to contribute for teams.

Those are my 3 biggest questions about Association. The last 2 could be workaround, but the 1st one isnt. For #2, I could just edit potentials before I start a career. #3, use custom drafts for association, but I am stuck with default drafts with MC.

Does anybody know when James Harden makes a 3 if he does his celebration!?!? The only time I see him come in play is the short seconds of the game an he doesn't shoot a 3 let alone make it...I know Westbrook does his pistols thing so does harden do his 3 point ritual!? Thanks guys GOOD JOB 2K!!!

Q: Will we able to play shortened season like last years lockout in Association Mode?
A: No, but a new feature lets you start an association from the actual date in the NBA. It imports all the stats and standings up to that date so you are free to start an Association from day one, just before All Star Weekend or even just before the playoffs and you can play with the real teams and real stats from that point in time.
You will still be able to choose how many games you want a season to be just like normal Association Mode (e.g. 14, 28, 58, 82 games).

Uhh... can someone re-explain this because I'm honestly not following.

Basically, if it is January 20th and you want to start up a season from that point, you can. Where the standings and stats in the game will reflect the reallife standings and stats.
There is still the old way of manually picking the amount of games.

Only thing I am not sure about is that if you can bring in custom rosters or not. It might be a default/2k roster update kind of mode, where you cant bring in the custom rosters.

That is something I might do.

Yea its most likely not for custom rosters. Hope 2k rosters are good this year because I may use this feature if I dont buy the game until around the All-Star break (I have a NBA text sim to fill my needs if Association is the same old funky/bugged mode)

Well you be payed with V/C and the money from 2k12 or just V/C.
