I wouldn't mid this actually being on the game if it could ONLY be used on a one man break, or only in the All Star game..

I actually do this myself, mostly on one man breaks but I've done it a few times the way Kobe does it with lay-ups.. Basically just getting caught in the lane with nowhere to go.. And I've done it a couple times on 1 on 1 breaks because the guys trying to guard it had no idea what was going on lol..

Obviously if its gonna be abused then I rather it wasn't in the game at all. Yes sometimes it happens in the real game but rarely. Maybe keep it to just the all star game so that it can only be abused there. I think either Live or 2k did that before you could only do it in the all star game.

I'd like to see, if you were hotdogging on a fast break and you pulled that off, the cpu team gets angry and is more likely to go on one of their runs and play solid D on you. You might also find yourself fouled hard next time you get in the paint. The crowd could also boo you whenever you touch the ball for several plays after if you're on the road.

I think people are missing the bigger issue, it is not the dunk itself it is the lack of contact by the defensive player, the defensive players still seem to slide out of the way instead of creating contact which would have broken up the attempt.

It should be some kind of Sig Skill or rating so people like Kobe can do it and 99% of the NBA cannot.

But it should be activated for everyone in all star games.

So are you saying half court shots shouldn't be able to go in? The same philosiphy applies. The self alley oop should be in the game, albeit far harder to pull off.

EXACTLY, YOU GUYS ARE MISSING THE POINT. the problem is not it being in the game, the problem is the lack of contact when someone is attempting it in traffic, it can easily be abused online if that is not fixed.

Ok, well now that I saw that then it wasn't unrealistic of me to do it with Russell Westbrook. I did it without intent though, I thought I made a mistake only to see my player jump up and slam it down. Good looks!

Actually it's not the same philosophy because half court shots are attempted way more than self alley oops. My issue is not with players with a high dunk rating pulling them off. It's more about me being worried about seeing it happen too much. When it's extremely rare to see in an nba game(far more rare than half court shots).
