I am having major lay up issues as an athletic point guard (6 foot 3)

This is long, but I cannot make my own threads yet.

I basically think Finisher is bugged at 3/3, 1/3 and 2/3 seem to work.

Here is the following that I've posted over at 2ksports and neogaf.

Can any My Player experts PLEASE tell me what the hell is going on with my contact lay ups?

I cannot make any .... the slightest bump of an opposing player causes the ball to miss 95% of the time.

I am an athletic point guard.

Playstyle in this order is Cutter/Iso/Mid/P&B Handler

Layup package was All star Guard ... tried Jordan / C.Paul / D.wade currently. Makes no difference.

Here's the kicker though ....

(These are all maxed)

Layup/99
Shot in traffic/99
Shot mid/close/99
Shoot off dribble/99
Dunk/99
Strength maxed to 70
Emotion/99
Vertical/99
Signature Moves
Finisher 3/3
Acrobat 3/3
Shot creator 3/3
Dead Eye 3/3
Ankle Breaker 3/3


I can play D. Rose or R. Westbrook which are point guards, and I do the sickest lay ups. Especially with Westbrook I can finish the layup most of the time even with very rough contact.

I compared my stats to Westbrook and Rose, and I am higher then them in everything that has anything to do with lay ups. (And pretty much everything else to be honest)

Now I searched around the net and other scoring type point guards in my player are complaining of the exact same problem with lay ups. The slightest contact and it miss's , kind of ridiculous with how good my stats are. And I definitely know how to play this game so pretty sure it's not a control issue, but it could be. Just odd since I can do contact lay ups no problem with Rose / Westbrook (Nevermind Durant or Wade, but I left them out since they are not Point Guards.) Yet My Player miss's 90% of every lay up with the slightest contact even though I have 3/3 Finisher and 3/3 Acrobat, with the max'd stats I listed above

My friend is a SG with way lower stats, and he finishes contact lay ups just fine. So this is even stranger to me ....

Is 2K basically forcing my player Point Guards just to be shooters? Scoring is not a problem, I can drop 60 points a game if I want to be a ball hogging jerk. I am just tired of Jump Shots and the occasional dunk (I am only 6'3 but it happens often with max dunk and vert).

Please guys any advice would really be appreciated, sorry for the novel above I just wanted to describe everything I have tried. Really hope someone can help me this is beyond frustrating.


Ok so I hope you guys could read all that. I really think Finisher is broke on 3/3, it's the only thing that makes sense at this point. Me and my friend ran down every single stat in the game, and layup packages to boot .... the only thing I can think is that Finisher is borked on 3/3. His is 2/3 and he is like Westbrook or Rose on the layups with light/medium contact. My stats blow his out of the water and I can't make a light/medium contact layup to save my life.

Still having problems with substitutions. Apparently, fouls, traveling, out of bounds, and the like aren't dead ball situations, and none of my substitutions are going through. What the eff? I don't wanna burn a timeout just because you couldn't automatically sub in my guys.

On another note, NBA Today doesn't always show up when I'm at the main menu. Sometimes, it'll show up with the date from four days ago. I dunno.

Riggs, i have the same problem and im a shooting guard with 99 layup, shoot in traffic and i have finisher lvl 3

Well, this bug occurred today and it's just blank instead of having messages from fans/celebrities. How to fix it?

You are absolutely right!! This has been killing me for a month having my finisher at level 3 and not being able to make contact layups to save my life! I restarted a my career and got my finisher to level 2 (or 1), layups are perfect now, I can make them all day Thanks for the observation and I hope they patch it soon.

Anyone else having a problem where NBA Today keeps cutting out, sometimes it will work other times it says October 27th and shows no games.

Agree, it shouldnt be happening. Its annoying. They need to fix this.

There is a button delay in online modes where shot releases are affected. Passes are slow to respond.

In any mode the players dont inbound the ball, so i have to save and quit, then restart. It is annoying.

Also in mycareer mode the coach doesnt start me and im the best player on the team, its really frustrating because they will lose any lead that i get and we end up losing.
