If I supported my local retailer I would get it later, I actually don't even think I would need to be signed into psn to play. What is the reason, how is this case any different to downloading a demo or dlc? It doesnt make any sense. That being said in all my time of psn I can't remember it going down for longer than about 15 mins. (touch wood)

OK, thats fair, Im just going off information that someone else in this thread provided. However Its probably best you check.

also, where were you when PSN was hacked, accounts compromised and taken offline between April 20th 2011 and May 14th 2011?
Thats the kind of outage im talking about. That would drive me insane personally.

EDIT : I did some google digging for you and my own curiosity, didn't find much information on the digital download(thats probably intentional) regarding availability, size, Online Connection required ect.

Maybe I could find these things if i had access to a ps3 still but alas I do not

Every major retailer gives Allstar DLC expect for PSN as it looks right now, which is horrible. Also read the fine print it only allows one account So 2kstore or bestbuy it is.

Be careful, I was going to go digital until terms and condition states you must sign into the PSN network to play it.

Ah, I wasn't on psn in 2011 that sounds bad, hopefully means that it is a lot less likely to happen now. Yes, I am finding the same thing, minimal info on the digital downloads, no email replying either. I guess I will just have to wait because whether it is avaiable at midnight is the difference for me to be able to download at 2pm or 8 am the next day

The only way to see these rules me and the other guy are talking about is from the playstation store. When you go to purchase it under the the game description in the box it states that it can be used on two consoles but only one within a 24 hour time period. Only the account that purchased the game can use it and you have to be signed into the PSN to even start the game.

That is practically criminal. Its basically says "Hi we're $ony. Despite the fact that you the customer have supported us and financed our Luxury homes and fancy cars we trust you as far as we can throw you. That why we are not going to allow you to own and play our games anymore. We will however give you the illusion that your are buying something to own when in reality were just giving you a license to play as long as we can watch you play it. If we can't watch you play it, we are afraid we can't let you play it...(something unintelligible relating to Godwin's Law)"

Its definitely anti-consumer.
Its probably also a reason they're a hot target for hackers and others.

I checked every other game that is apart of the day one digital promo and I also checked Borderlands 2 and none of them are like this. This has to something 2K made them do in order to let them put the game up for digital download.

Dude not trying to tell you what to do or anything but is a hard copy not availible for you?

I have bought 4 games from psn. Fight Night 3, Infamous, Bomberman, and and little big planet.

I don't regret bomberman or lil big planet at all.

But man I sure regret buying fight Night. If psn is out for maintenance or there is a internet outage Im locked out the game! It also takes up too much space on my ps3. I can't really take it over a friend's house easily or anything.

Please Reconsider

They are not going to change it and you have no ground to stand on if you are locked out of the game. The second you press confirm you agree to those terms and conditions and they clearly say that you have to do these things to play.

Haven't checked any of their games but off the top of my head most of the games they have on there are older games. I will check later though.

No worries if you don't because re: Ubisoft, they've publicly stated they are abandoning their DRM on PC games. The backlash they got was too much to bear and if the same is true of retail copies of 2k13, hell hath no fury like OS scorn. (or me at least)

Let me help you guys out, these are from the Terms of Service of the PSN digital download for 2k13 from the PSN store.

This item has been sublicensed to you by Sony Computer Entertainment America. One-time license fee for downloads up to 2 console systems that are associated with the purchasing account. No more than one activated PS3 system within a 24 hour period. Content may not be used by any other account. You must sign in to PSN each time you start the game.

So yeah, you have to sign in on PSN every time you play the game. And only that one specific account for each console, so if you have brothers who have other PSN accounts, they can't use their own accounts for NBA 2k13. You have to share the game in that one account. This is horrible DRM for this game, I don't really see any reason why someone would purchase this through PSN.
